      I had 2 C6s, they was pretty comfy. I'm skinny but 6'2", didn't really have issues but would've liked the pedals to be further away and wheel closer to me without having to sit fully upright/knees hitting the wheel. Anyone knows how the C8 feels like compared to C6 when it comes to leg room?

      Only thing a Ferrari will run. This cheap motherfucking C8 will break in a couple of months. If you push it to the limit. Check the videos C8 breaking down. People think it's a baddest fucking car. Trying to do the same stuff in it as a GTR,R8 and Acura NSX. Only to blow the engine and breaking the axle. It's a cheap piece of shit build by a company that went bankrupt twice.

      @@samchu5890 So I'm a fan of European cars too, especially Mercedes, but you live in such a bubble to even THINK of comparing a Corvette's reliability to it. I can tell you only play with precious Ferrari's in Video games. *In real life, Ferrari's are really finicky and unreliable.* The service on Ferrari's is ridiculous for how little you actually get to enjoy them. You never own a Ferrari, _A Ferrari owns you_ . If you think breaking axles are bad? Ferrari's will break literally everything else. I love the artwork in their design, I think they're stunning cars, but they are just weekend toys. A 911, Corvette (especially older C5's and C6's with LS engines), and GTR will drive for many years with many hundreds of thousands of miles. A Ferrari can't even hope to get 20,000 on the odometer before it literally combusts into flames and gets shoved into a collector's basement 6 stories under. It's sad that such beautiful driving machines get that fate, but that is the reality. I will take literally any other Supercar over a Ferrari. It's a garage ornament, sadly.

    "C8's not fast by 2020 standards"
    Who's 2020 standards? Doug DiMuro's? The C8's a rocket. And the thing is, it achieves that kind of speed without needing stupid amounts of power, because it puts all its power to the ground so much better than all those front-engined, rear-wheel-drive brutish muscle cars. The Mustang GT500 may be able to beat it from a roll, but it can't from a dig.

    • @anydaynow01
      @anydaynow01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I agree, especially considering his examples, the Mustang GT500 and Camaro ZL1 1LE (why didn't they just call it the IROC and be done with it?) are the top of the line, last bit of juice we can get, muscle cars. The C8 is in it's base form has comparable specs but is so much more comfortable to deal with. Conceptually it's like a peaked roided out varsity track star competing against an Olympic athlete warming up for the games in a couple years; the HS kid may win initially, but the Olympian is just getting started.

      So they're basically following Chrysler's strategy? They make weird, "exotic" cool stuff to appeal to a certain type of enthusiasts, while the rest of their mainline products are sort of falling to neglect. They fame themselves on the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Demon (can't remember all those over-the-top names), Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, and Ram pickup (which certainly has the most "bro" appeal of the Big Three's trucks). Going off image more than quality. Better at making stuff that a teenager would put posters of on their wall than anything anyone would actually want to buy - and those who do buy them do so more as a statement than because they are good vehicles. This is my understanding based on what I see (including by RCR), I admittedly haven't driven or even ridden in one in years - last I saw was a mid-2000s Charger V6 I drove that felt like a total piece of crap.

    Technically, the C4 was a front mid-engine layout, since the front of the engine is behind the theoretical front axle line. Doing this did worlds for the weight distribution and handling of the car. It was the first to be able to be used as a track car from the factory.

    • @anydaynow01
      @anydaynow01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That and the C5 half measure with the rear transaxle really helped with the weight distribution and they were able to keep their excellent braking distance, so much so they had to start detuning the Corvettes (and Vipers) for international competition. The new 5.5L engine regulations was the final nail in the front midship layout, so in the name of efficiency Corvette needed the true midship layout to get as much power to the ground as possible early out of corners (hence the insane 0-60 time from a sub six figure car) instead of relying on rolling out the power down later.

    The C8 has the most uninspired styling. I’m sure the engineering and performance are stellar- they better damn be, they’ve been working at it forever. Regardless, the styling looks like they took pictures of every Italian mid-engined car of the last 5 years, put them in a blender, and poured the concoction over a 2003 Ferrari 360 Modena. From yards away, it looks like some exotic spaceship is approaching; then when it gets closer you say, “Nah, it’s just another Corvette”.

    "The corvette is no longer for boomers"
    I disagree, Mister Regular. Now, every boomer who wants a Mid/Rear Engined "super" car, but couldn't afford a Ferrari or even a Porsche can now go to their Chevy dealer and buy a Corvette and get ALLL the attention they wanted and then some, because they haven't gotten enough already apparently.

      I think the point is the average boomer won't appreciate what this car has to offer even if they can stuff themselves behind the wheel. About 2/3 of the boomers I know don't even own a computer, so making a car that assumes one has tech pretty much eliminates the attraction for people whose idea of tech is the electric garage opener. But don't worry, the boomers still have the Dodge Challenger.

    • @dragonbrownies517

      Mr Regular is Right. The C8 was built for my generation. The generation that's taken to appreciate the traditions of yore to embracing the technology that we came to being used to.
      Boomer's won't even bother with half of the things this car has to offer, let alone enjoy it for what it Actually is.
