Faker got OHKO by Ambition with R xd
A lot of people tryed to explain the story of this song and I think they are right, but I would add something to it. Well we should start in the beginning. "Ambition" was originally mid laner and he was the best in his times. After some time team named SKT T1 came up with a new player on mid lane from Solo Q, he called himself "Faker" . First time they met in game, everybody thought it is a free win for Ambition and his team, but they lost and also he got killed 1v1 by "Faker". A lot of people starts talking about "Faker" as a new best mid laner. After some time due to cancellation of two teams playing for one organization Ambition had to move to a different role if he wanned to stay in that team. So he changed his role to jungle. At start noone believed that he can play jungle good, but after some time the results began to appear and simply he fit in with the other players. They still met SKT T1, but without a problem SKT T1 was still winning against them. And after losing on World stage Ambition was about to quit professional playing. But one year in team SSG, they were in I believe its called gauntlet or something like that. Practically it's last change for teams to get to Worlds. So team SSG was 0/2 in this gauntlet and they had nothing to lose so they send their jungler to bench and Ambition got a chance for last games. With Ambition SSG started winning and they got to Worlds. As a black korean horse, nobody expected much from them, but still you can't underestimate korean players. SSG was winning and they got to finals, but who else then Ambition's real nemesis was waiting for them there. It was SKT T1. Their game went for 3 games and Ambition with SSG won Worlds.
This is really a short story. It is much more complex and I recommend to everyone to find more info. Also when you are watching Rise try to look at it as on a player who lost almost everything and started from beginning.
PS: My English is not good, but I hope everyone understood what I wanned to say.

Well.. its more about how Ambition was considered one of the best players in the world back in the day, then he had a loss streak for a while, and then he RISED back up.. this song is more of a from hero to zero and back to a hero story.

Let me tell you the lore of the song. The song tell us about "Ambition" (jungler for the team "Samsung Galaxy", korean) and how wins Worlds 2017, the first fight it's vs Perks (Midliner for the team "G2 esports", european) in group stage, the second figth it's vs Uzi (Adcarry for de team "RNG", chinese) in quarter finals. The last fight it's vs Faker (OUR DEMON KING, midliner for SKT 1, three-time world champion) in the final of worlds of that year, "Ambition" (Samsung Galaxy) wins vs "Faker" (SKT 1).

I have a bad habit of binge-watching reactions to Riot's work... and god damn does it feel good to come across someone who actually cares about the video they're reacting to and not just blankly staring into the screen for 4 minutes, saying "hey thats cool" every now and then and ends it with a "be sure to subscribe and leave a like." You even explained your interpretation at the end. Loved how you immediately caught onto what was happening in the video, even though you didn't know the exact backstory. Great reaction! ^^
There are so many of those kinda people who just react for sake of views and don't even bother getting to know about League.
Yeah, seeing a reactor that actually seems to be enjoying this stuff at more than a surface level is always refreshing. You don't have to be super over the top like some people try to- genuine enjoyment and a good thought process is all that really matters. And getting both in one reactor is pretty rare tbh

Btw, that moment when you thought it was epic, the guy was running among huge statues of the skins his team selected after winning the previous year (every world champion team member choses a champion to get a new skin with the team's theme)

If you knew the depth of lore in this video you'll know how special this video is.
I like how you picked up on the fact that after the confrontation in the lava chamber there was a lull in the action and him just running. That is because his team lost that match. They were taken out of the front running and had to fight back from the losers bracket. The big statues also signifies a specific moment in the tournament that was monumental for their victory. At the end where the guy from the lava chamber opens his eyes is basically just the Terminator saying "I will be back"
The general context that I reached from all of this is the climb or the "rise" through the ranks. This player among so many proved pushing through each hard fight again and again until he reaches the peak of league players of becoming a pro. Granted there are different teams that are considered better, but the hard fight of climbing in ranked with peak being portrayed as the worlds cup was pretty epic imo.

The main guy is ambition from SSG. It was world 2017 I think. He played Khazix and won against the yasuo (forgot the player name). Then he beat uzi(vayne), and eventually winning against faker at the final and won the world championship.
Thanks! Afterwards I had to go and see the video of that finale just to understand the context haha. If I'd seen it beforehand, the MV would've made a lot more sense to me, but in a way I'm glad I didn't know too much!

Actually I'm happy that the more and more music videos are being made via animation. It's much more epic than the usual videos due to its huge opportunities to realise the most wild ideas in people minds. But both formats have equal chances to impress a spectator though. It all depends on the author who makes it. Nevertheless I'd prefer animated music videos than regular one.

By the way, the animated short film that won Oscar recently is the perfect example of dramatic story. It has a message to give, and shows real values of life: family
