  • You can find the pattern piece and written instructions on my blog, Gingercake. here is the link~ gingercake.org/...
Even before my babies could eat solids, I found that they needed a cute little bib to catch their messes. This bib is the perfect size for a little one- pretty but still saves those nice precious baby clothes from getting sloppy!
Materials needed for this project are..
2 pieces of cotton fabric that measure 9.5" x 12"
1 piece of cotton batting that measures 9.5" x 12" - flannel can substitute
pearl snaps (or velcro, regular snaps, or ties)
    chopstick to poke out corners
sewing machine, coordinating thread, scissors, & iron
optional- rotary cutter & self healing mat
These make a great gift for new moms! I would suggest making several at once perhaps in coordinating fabrics and colors.
Here are some links to some of the sewing equipment that I use~
Here are some of the supplies I use~
    -My favorite seam ripper! amzn.to/2IIyd1K
    -the clear plexiglass ruler! amzn.to/2Hq4YBj
    -the self healing mat! amzn.to/2KwAu1S
-the rotary cutter! amzn.to/2KvZAxF and blades amzn.to/2Ibo411
-a similar sewing machine to the one I have (and LOVE) amzn.to/2JwJa6S
-a machine I would recommend to beginners amzn.to/2I3mmwg
You may sell bibs made from this pattern on a small handmade scale. Online, I ask that you give me, Virginia Lindsay of Gingercake Patterns, credit. THANK YOU!

A great video - thank you! Do you think using front and back pieces of flannel will be enough without having to use an interfacing of sorts? If so, should it be quilted to keep it's shape?

Hi, I actually was looking at your baby gown pattern which I am making now. I did have some questions, though. The gowns are really sweet and thank you for them! However, as I watch the instructions online and start to put together the gown, I notice that the seam allowances and widths of the placket and cute collar seem to be wider than I can get by following the measurements for cutting these straight pieces. My placket is a bit narrow and I did cut the collar a little wider, though it could still be wider yet! Also, if you fold over the collar over the seam, you lose some width, too. The photos just look like more fabric and so forth has been allowed. Anyway, I was just wondering. My little gown will turn out sweet and I will probably try another. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Did you use cotten or flannel?

    • @gingercakesews
      @gingercakesews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

I use either! Flannel would be soft but sometimes get kind of rough after some washing.
