Yes to the finance video ✨
Pleaseeee share a video about what you've learned about money/finances in your 20s! I have been doing this myself as well and I feel l like talking about finances when your young helps destigmatize the idea of money. It is so important and so many people are scared of the topic. Don't let your money control you, make sure you control and "own" it! :)
I also noticed in the video comparison that you’ve gotten much more relaxed and less ‘curated’ in your videos which I’d say is a great achievement to add on to your others! Loved your 2020 content- it just made me feel so relaxed and recognized throughout lockdown
that "learning to drive" goal actually hits hard
So true😅😥
my driving test has been cancelled 4 times in 12 months 😅👍🏼
you are a beacon of light on this planet, lucy
Lucy does mean light after all 👼🏼
I would love to see a video that goes more into your experiences with Quakerism and spirituality! I am super curious about that.
As an American I'm crying at the "25 days of paid leave" bit - at my old job you had to work with the company for at least a year just to get 10 days off
Christ that's dystopian..
@@Tabbiecat FACTS
@@kaitlyncolborne8288 In the UK if you work 5 days per week your statutory minimum entitlement is 28 days - 20 plus the 8 bank holidays
Canadian here and same. We get two weeks (so ten days).
I bought the IT cosmetics CC cream that's SPF 50 and its my only foundation so basically I had to trck myself into using SPF by effectively SLIPPING IT IN MY TEA and not giving myself another option.
P.S. thanks for the mention bae xxx missss youuuu
The BEST foundation 👏 I do the tea slip too, it gets the job done sometimes. No worries peach, love you xxx
the problem with this is, you need 1g of sunscreen to reach the designated SPF. but you will never use 1g of foundation (or cc cream) on your face because that is A LOT, it would be very cakey. so you cannot build up a 50 SPF protection with that cream. but it is better than nothing of course!
@@kupfersand omg I didn't know that but now reading up on it and you're totally right. Ordering a normal SPF for my face now, THANK YOU
hi Lucy! loved this video. One thing that struck me was when you said that a whole month off in a year is extreme. i don't think it's extreme at all, and should be encouraged IMO. I am curious as to why you think that (especially noting this being the case "in your twenties")? i've worked in full-time salaried jobs for the last 5 years and each offered 25 days holiday which you need to take, with managers even making sure you take them when you haven't booked them off (even if it's just the odd monday off spent at home just chilling, not working). i know things are different with your job so i'm really curious as to why you think that's extreme or not feasible? i don't mean this in a confrontational way at all, i am genuinely curious as i don't have any freelance friends, and usually hear the narrative that time off is essential. obviously, no need to reply :)
totally agree !! this sentence also really surprised me, how could one month of doing things for yourself be "too much" ?
i LOVED this. you can see the maturity in your eyes versus what your eyes look like in that video (not that they weren't mature but you know what i mean). so proud of you!!
the savings video could be helpful because a lot of financial advice on here is American based! and it's just nice to get more familiar. also I think you can definitely an increase in confidence between this year and last year, if you have any advice based on how you've managed that it could be great :)
I’m really interested in your music journey/song writing skills - how and when did you start writing + do you find the balance between life and finding extra time to create for pleasure difficult? I love your openness in this video! I’ve found it super helpful
At the start of 2021, I was not in a place where I could set goals. I made big, short term changes to get out of that place. Now that I've taken some time to think about what I am hoping to "theme" my year. I picked "deep roots," which means (to me) that I'm trying to establish daily habits that might not give me day to day improvement, but I'm hoping will have big results. For example, I'm in an academic job, so I'm hoping that I can start each day with 30 minutes of work on journal articles. For exercise, it means telling myself that 60% effort is okay if it means that I don't get burned out and can sustain healthy habits.
Big yes to the finance video! I just organized all my bank statements from September in Excel sheets today and set a budget for the upcoming months. It would be incredibly helpful imo I'd love to know what I could be doing better. Also just want to say thank you for being a great presence on TH-cam, I've been watching you (+ Leena and Hanna) for around six years now and really appreciate the energy you bring and the thoughts and growth you share. Wishing you all the best for 2021
its so interesting seeing the difference between current Lucy & 2019/20 Lucy. You really seem so much more relaxed and natural now, its really nice to see. Also they way you talk has changed a bit I think, and you don't sound posh haha! I'm not setting any solid goals this year, but giving myself a theme? to follow, which is pretty much to follow through on things instead of letting plans and opportunities slip through
The color of your mug is so beautiful and perfect!!
Loved this video Lucy! I’ve not necessarily set “goals” per se, but instead I’ve chosen the first word that came to my mind - growth. I’ve seen a lot of others choose one word for this year, such as “slow” or “manifest”. With that in mind I have categorised my word into “business growth”, “social media & content growth” and “personal growth” and set things I’d like to achieve. This year I’m putting less pressure on myself and trying to go with the flow as last year was just a mental health nightmare. I’ve also created a “in 5 years time I’ll be...” and it includes anything from “living in my own apartment” to “having a cat” just whimsical stuff that isn’t too heavy 🥰
Love that your goals were actually some practical stuff such as saving and exercising. :) I've been binging your videos this past week, really love watching a YTber in my age range :D
I loved this chatty vibe - I’ve set goals, but they’re to do with my spirituality, Mental Health, and internal dialogue. I find my perfectionism and self pressure just spirals when I set anything concrete
Lucy: Need to sort out my sleep schedule
Me: Watching this at 4 am
This makeup look is stellar
would love if you could continue to update on how you're managing your sleep schedule. I also have a lot of problems with fighting falling asleep and nightmares, etc. so watching your process could be really helpful. Happy New Year!
Its funny how I've been subscribed to you for many many years.
But only now I can really relate to your content. (this has nothing to do with your content but everything to do with my headspace). You're currently one of my favourite channels to watch. Really love the content you're putting out. You can feel that it's authentic which I really appreciate.
so, keep going I guess. Haha!
Absolutely loved this! There are definitely some things I wanted to do but didn’t because of this pandemic but that’s ok! It’s nice to reflect and remember what you did or didn’t do and I’m definitely a different person. We had go grow and adapt to this year. Love this video Lucy. ♥️
love love love the energy of this video also big yes to the finance video i’m about to go into my twenties and i’d love the advice !! (random, but your skin looks amazing in this, like glowing)
Watching you always feels like coming home :). I understand that you don't like watching yourself but I really enjoyed your resolution video a year ago. I remember thinking how cosy and good everything looked. But I still like the less curated videos of yours
I know you said that your content this year wasn't the best but I really loved your lockdown content! Made me feel so relaxed and I guess its just reassuring to see other people going through lockdown too.
you've been by far my favorite person on the internet this last year
Loved your video as always! I'm still working on my goals, however I want definitely to achieve the following: 1) Workout min. 3 times a week. 2) Cook proper meals (I've been living off sandwiches) 3) Build my client base. 4) Study as much as possible so that I can improve professionally.
Absolutely loved this, you seem so chill and happy. And yes yes yes to the finance content!
Good luck with your goals! Wishing you all the best!
Well proud of you for sorting out your pension!! Would love to see a finance advice video, it’s nice to have non-experts talking about money, it’s a lot less daunting x
Would love to have an update video from you on how you're fixing your sleep schedule - I also struggle with terrible nightmares!
One of my main goals for 2020 was to stop isolating and go out more and be more social - haha. I did accomplish my goal of paying off my old credit card debt, which was technically a 2019 goal, but hey it's done. This year I'm looking to develop healthier habits that are realistic to keep up and get back into hobbies. A big goal of mine is also to practice vulnerability - I realized some hard truths about myself in 2020 lol and most of them can be linked back to issues with vulnerability.
And yes to a finances/money video!
@Mariyam Bashir thank you! It really is a burden - I felt the weight lift off my shoulders when i made that last payment!
Love this - also - the colouring of this video is just so nice and your make up/ hair looks sooo lovely!!!
lovely vid Lucy! just a note, there were a lots of ads! and like, it interrupted the rithm quite a bit.
Just went onto the back end and there were EIGHT... wtf youtube. Amended it now, sorry friends!
Love love love this video, feels so fun and light hearted and organic xxx plus it looks gorgeousssss
I'm not setting goals per se - I'm working on improving specific aspects of my life etc. but through a continuous process of reflection and improvement instead of yearly goals, I find that a lot more helpful and less stressful. But I should defo sort my sleep schedule out
loved this video! thank you for being transparent about not accomplishing goals, especially in a year like 2020
Would love a video on what you're learning about savings!! You have my vote!
I love your videos! This was a very refreshing goals video. You were one of my favorite channels to watch last year and I know this year will be the same.
I love this video! You are so inspiring Lucy! I would love to hear what you have learned regarding money and saving
honestly Luc, I enjoyed your videos a lot this year! very lowkey and not trying to do anything above what they are? idk
also with the sleep schedule and social media, definitely try the controls on your phone! I personally have my social media set to be inaccessible between 10pm and 10am. It stops my scrolling right before bed and first thing in the morning
Around here 5 Weeks off a year is perfectly normal for whatever age you are. But I know not everyone is as lucky..
Your vids are so calming thank you
This was such a lovely video, thanks for that :) Also would love a finances video, I'm good at this stuff but I want to move to England in the foreseeable and especially with pensions I think everything's a little different so it would be nice to get some starter info! And do the driving! I finally made the step at 26 never having had the need (or money haha) before, and it just feels so nice.
I like to set one goal for the year. It's more about improving my character rather than improving my hard skills. For example this year is the the year of chill out. I have tendency to build that tension around unimportant stuff. They does not really matter in the bigger picture, they just ruin my and others mood. It helps a lot because when i'm in that situation I can really fast remaind myself how I want to behave. Helps common sense break through the wall of emotions. I'm catholic so I like to add a few things every weekend after my examination of conscience. This way I always have things to work on and patterns to follow. I know how I want to behave in specific situation. Except that I set goals but they aren't connect with new year. I feel inspired and I do it. For example I heard about reading 1 book every week. And I started the day I heard about it. Didn't wait for monday, new month or year. I like also set goals for 5 and more years. It's actually more thinking about what I want in life rather than setting strict goals.
I feel like you got so much done! This year did not feel very "successful" for me at all but I'm giving myself a pass; it's been a weird chaotic year.
Yes to a saving/investing video!!
this was so relatable & made me feel better about my 2020 goals, thanks!
I decided to set monthly goals instead of for the whole year just to take the pressure off a little bit
I have only been following you for less than half a year so I did not know you write music, that's so cool!
This last year I have been doing a lot of finance based stuff, bought my own flat (20 years of mortgage, here we come), started renovating it, buying furniture and stuff, also got a new job where I can actually put a bigger amount away for my retirement (if I ever get to live until that time LOL) and also finally pay my student debt back (have been paying it since 2013). So fck yeah for adulting, I am into finances, I don't care! :D:D:D Although I am still very late on that, bcs I only started caring about stuff like this in my thirties, then again most of my twenties was spent at uni where I did not have the opportunity to work and when I got a job, I was paid so low that I could not afford to put away too much. The joys of living in an Eastern European country (yeah you can say Hungary is Central Europe, but believe me, in certain things we are like the Balkans, no offense people from there).
Finally someone said it! I feel like a different person as well. Although back a year ago I was still together with my boyfriend and I could not wait to move in together with him in this apartment. And then he left me and we were on and off until November, so I feel like I really would not wanna go back to last year where I was still happy and though this thing will last, you know what I mean? :(
I actually hope the world never goes back to how it was before, but I think it will. I don't want all the pollution and emission rates to go back...But I also don't want people to fill shit mentally due to the lockdown.
Before lockdown I used to buy stuff from a packaging free store very often (although then I used to live one street away from it and now I moved) but since COVID hit, I only order home delivery and very rarely go to a supermarket, let alone a place where I could buy stuff without packaging. I don't like it, but that's life...I can't put more pressure on myself anymore bcs I am just tired....tired of everything.
I'M 36 and still don't have my driver's license, but tbh I don't need a car either in this city. Then again I am annoyed that some people have their license at 17 and I still don't. Tried it once but then I got into hospital and my time was up to doing both exams within a spam of 2 years, so now I have to do it from the beginning. But I think when COVID is "gone" and everyone is vaccinated, there will be so many people rushing to do what they missed out on, that there will be (again) a waiting list at driving schools and I will have to wait a lot AGAIN to be able to drive. :/
Your videos are so calming no matter what
I'd love a series about money! I'm graduating from uni in a few months and I need help. I'd say I'm pretty frugal but I don' know anything about tax, managing income, bills, etc. A series about the necessary steps you need to take when first branching off as an independent body when it comes to money would be fab.
I enjoyed the ‘high interest savings’ haha. That went down the pan in the pandemic 😂
Love the video 😊 however, i don’t know if it’s just me but I am only 9 minutes into the video and already had 4 different ads (not back to back, like really 1 every 2 minutes...)
I am pretty sure it is not intentional as you complained about the phenomenon the other day, but I wanted to let you know as it increasingly cuts your flow 😥
Tip: scroll all the way to the end of the video and then restart it to skip all ads
@@767Eureka Thanks, will try it next time it does the same 😊
relating so much to the failed 2020 goals... mine were to 'travel' and to 'go out more' lmaoo
About what you mentioned about sleep, I really recommend Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. I've had trouble sleeping for the past 10??? years or so, and I read Why We Sleep during the first lockdown and it has helped me so much. It's really easy to read and the audiobook is also great!
I'm pretty sure it is 28 days a year if you work standard 40 hrs week. Allllsoo love you lip gloss/ stick what is it?? You look glowing in this vid. Plus your work has been so good this year. Hoping theres podcast or somthing in the works... sounds exciting!!
To your sentiment on there being a place for everyone in media and on TH-cam, you're right! There is literally an old bachelor who feeds his backyard racoons and it is a surprisingly popular channel. Very wild!
I know you're a freelancer, so things are different than for people in a salaried role, but honestly, embrace time off! A month off over the year is standard in the UK, and I'm so grateful for that. It's important for wellbeing, even if you're just chilling at home. I don't understand this idea that twenties should be all about work, work, work. If anything, make the most of enjoying time off while you have (relatively) few responsibilities, and can do whatever you want with it! Don't look back at your twenties and regret spending all your time and energy working.
Please a video on money! It’s so hard to find British women discussing money 😭💷
My biggest goal is creating a sustainable routine with virtual university. I've been struggling to accomplish all the demands of law school without the structure of being on campus. I've made a plan of what I'd like to do but putting plans to action is something I struggle to accomplish.
I’m too scared to look through my 2020 goals 😳
yes to the financial video!! I just turned 22 and I would love to learn how to get myself together hahaha
Yess, I'd love a video about money/saving :)
I would like it if you did do the money video. Even though you are not an expert, but it is good to have your perspective and also it gives us resources to look into ourselves. Currently, I have no idea where to begin, but this would help get me started.
Hey Lucy, I'm very interested in having a non-hormonal coil as well but I'm a bit scared ... will you make a video here or on IG relating to that ? How the procedure went, how bad does it hurt and later one if it unpleasant, etc xx
Virtual meeting is actually the best meeting in some ways because you are muted, so you don't have the same fears about stomach noises or sneezing etc
YES to financial vids! Love you!
I enjoyed so much watching this video
I needed this
the bit about sleep schedules hit me it's 1am and I'm watching this oops
I need to start driving this year too, completed my learners test on 31st dec
I was going to learn to drive in 2020, took me 8 months just to get a date for my theory test
Would also love a money video!
this mug is beautiful, can i buy it somewhere online?
Great video as always!
I always thought if I were to join any kind of religious community it would be Quaker. I met a lot of Quakers in uni and it isn't all about christianity, but spirituality in all forms. I was really drawn to that
love this
love this!! i know you've probably said before but where are your glasses from?
where are your glasses from? I’ve been looking for glasses in the same style as yours for such a long time! ✨
They’re the Pearce Large from Ace and Tate I think! 💕
@@lucymoon Thank you so much❣️ Wish you a lovely Sunday 🌞
Yes please for the money video! How do you find a financial advisor? 💛
I love this video ❤️
Also how you were talking about Dry January is exactly how I felt about Veganuary, it just isn't the year to deprive yourself of even more
VERY interested in finance video! Think it would be really helpful!
Hello and have you thought about live streaming on twitch and starting your own podcasts in the future
Girl, we need a hair routine or something. That hair is gleaming!
If you're looking for a new spf I recommend bybi's spf 30 :)
How about a video on how being an influencer/creator online has shaped you? I'd find this extremely interesting.
I also set learning to drive as a goal in 2020. It did not happen, haha. I'm hoping to get it done this year, but I'm not too concerned if it doesn't work out. My biggest goal for this year is to apply to grad school...
I’d love to see the video about money, it’s something not many people seem to talk about x
Can I ask how would you take paid leave if you are self-employed/freelance?
Just got to book it in with yourself really! Pop an OOO in the diary and make sure everyone you work with knows x
@@lucymoon isn’t that just time off though? How is it paid? I’m self employed and I book in time off but I know that when I do that it is time I will not be making money
Perhaps you add a £ extra onto your fee which goes into a holiday pot? 🙂
Would love to hear what high interest savings advise you were given/that you feel comfortable sharing.
lol at "high interest" savings. the highest I had pre-pandemic was 1.1%... I very quickly deleted the "how much I earned in interest each month" column in my budget spreadsheet...
It almost looks like your face has changed.
yeah, ideas and goals of the end of 2019 are quite funny things to relate back to.
Indeed when march arrives I just didn't want to accept, and now I'm just looking for a new life setup that would make the best of this new world.
Also while I do set up goals, they are never habits goals, like I would say "I want to change career, live in a new city, go to more concert" but I wouldn't set a number or date because it doesn't work. when it comes do daily productive habits, I knew that I just do stuff so I got that covered no matter what. unless the goal should be to do less stuff... (not happening so far lol)
What lipstick are you wearing? I love the colour 😍
Any tips on long distance dates/ what you and Jack have been up to? Haven’t seen my bf since December and likely won’t until March (?) we’re getting into a bit of a rut and just doing Netflix party/ Disney+ group out of mostly laziness
Would love to see the money saving video 😊
Literally only made the goal to generally be healthier and read a bit more. Drink more water, eat less sugar, use my e-reader, small stuff like that since big goals always overwhelm me especially now that nothing in our futures is certain.
