Arabic rice | Arabian raisins pulao | Raisins & cashew rice by Food and The Foodie

  • This traditional Middle Eastern rice with raisins is a wonderful side dish with a rich flavor that can also be served as a meal on its own.It has incredibly well-balanced sweet and savory flavors of the raisins, spices (allspice), cashew nuts.This Turmeric rice recipe that you can get with shawarma, serve with roasted chicken or beef or mutton or kababs or hotshots.

    ingredients:
    rice 3 cup
    oil ½ cup
    1 sliced onion
    finely chopped ginger garlic 1 teaspoon each
    turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
    all spice powder (گرم مصالحہ) ½ teaspoons
    salt 2 teaspoon or as per your taste
    green chilies 3 to 4 sliced
    cashew nuts 2 handful (دو مٹھی ✊)
    raisins (میوہ, کشمش)1 cup (mine was more than 1 cup because I like it)
    instructions:
    add oil in woke.
    fry cashews and Raisins separately, set them aside.
    in the same woke add onion, saute it
    then add ginger garlic and cook for couple of minutes.
    now add in turmeric and all spice powder, stir.
    pour in water, add salt and green chilies, let it boil.
    add rice, when rice left with very little amount of water, top it with fried nuts and simmer for 7 to 10 minutes.
    fluff them up and serve with roasted chicken or beef or mutton or kababs or hotshots.
