  • I mentioned that it's been almost 2 years since I reviewed the Iron Neck Pro...it's actually been nearly 4 years! I've been out in space, dilating time.
Here's a link to the Iron Neck Products on Amazon (affiliate links):

Here's the old video I mentioned:
    • Iron Neck Pro Review: ...
I scored my Iron Neck Pro (featured in the video) for free, but if I had to pay, I'd buy the Starter or the Varsity model (couple hundred less), and take the leftover to buy a more traditional harness (or go out to eat at a Brazilian Steak house or something). That said, if you have some extra funds, and recognize that I'm not right about everything, go for the Pro, baby!
Regarding migraines, I haven't had one in the 4 months that I've been consistently using this...the longest I've ever gone since my first migraine 25 years ago. Coincidence? Maybe, but I really doubt it, especially since I've increased my migraine trigger behavior (more frequent Tabata / HIIT sessions, BJJ rolling / getting choked / stacked, etc).
I pick 1-3 exercises about 3 times a week, and do them first thing when I walk in the gym (before my warmup). This way I know I'll get it done, and it doesn't tend to fatigue anything for my main lift...as I write this, I wonder if it's somehow "priming" my body for exercising and therefore aiding in exercise induced migraine prevention (I'm probably just rambling...but maybe not).
I also have far less upper back pain (that stabbing sharp pain in between the shoulder blades). It's incredible the integration your neck has with the upper back (trapezius muscles, etc).
In short, I'm not gonna claim that the Iron Neck will cure your migraines and upper back pain (it may make it worse...migraine triggers are very strange, personal creatures), but it sure as heck has made a difference for me!

Nice. I’ve been trawling everywhere for a good review about neck stiffness, pain, and migraine. This makes me feel more confident in ordering as they have a 30 day return if necessary also. Thanks!

Just a warning to folks suffering from migraines: as you may know, one person's cure is another person's trigger (e.g., caffeine consumption). That being said, proceed with caution when training your neck (I think you'll like this thing though). Other migraine tips: drink lots of water, work on your posture, and don't sweat life too hard, if you can help it.
Also, I recommended the "Starter" model (link in description) without checking the price on the "Varsity"...I haven't used the Varsity, but I believe it comes equipped with a nerfed resistance dial...for $50, it may be worth the difference. If you have it, and have an informed opinion, I'd love to hear it!

I’m late to this review but you sound like you have the same headache issues as me so this was helpful. Might look into this but I’m to the point where I’m scared to exercise those areas as they can trigger my migraines and they’re violent. I also do Jiu jitsu and the issue holds me back a lot

I don't think I'll ever completely get rid of them, but I'm pretty convinced that having a strong "mobile" neck has helped my migraines a ton. At the very least, a strong neck makes bjj easier...it's like having a 3rd knee!

Are you still getting these often? How often do you train and what supplements do you use? I get these same migraines and its always from training@ThreeStormFitness
