What makes this even more amazing is this was made at the start of the pandemic and they were all separated. For this album they had to set up recording areas in their homes and learn how to do their own lighting, backgrounds and recordings. Then they each recorded by themselves and their video production team had to put it all together into these incredible songs. I love the whole album and you could react to any of the songs on it.
This one blows the original away, and I actually LIKE the original. The thing that's really incredible about this version is that it was recorded in the middle of the pandemic. They released an entire EP of songs during the pandemic that were all recorded with each individual member doing their parts in their home studios, unable to hear what each other members were singing, and all the parts being edited together by their producer. Can you imagine creating these intricate harmonies in that situation? ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!! BTW, all of their videos are produced by FifGen Films, a small independent production company in Los Angeles. In reality, Pentatonix and FifGen "grew up" together in the industry, as FifGen was just starting out at the same time as Pentatonix took to TH-cam to get their careers back up off the ground after unceremoniously losing their first recording contract before it had even really begun.
That’s the thing…..PTX always has been so creative. Especially being one of the main reasons why acapella became so popular, and during the pandemic where all life stopped….it didn’t stop, it CREATED more artistic ideas such as in music. And in this example….like you said, they recorded their parts and sent it off. They must have had a zoom call to review their parts. I have been a huge fan of them because they always create and always amaze.

Hi NJ, You are just so on point all the time, especially with these guys. They really are next level. I so enjoyed your reaction to that 90's Dance Medley. That was just insane. I could see you light up with each new song and that was not a put on at all. That was them getting to you and I mean that in the best way. That is was music is suppose to do. I listened to this and I also thought I like this version better than the original..
