Fun Fact: Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger) auditioned for a movie called “Star Wars” in 1975. He didn’t get cast, but he told his friend Mark Hamill about it because he knew he liked science fiction and superheroes. He auditioned, and got the part of Luke Skywalker! th-cam.com/video/lSjP2GBTr9U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=C57kWPSCHcFfqrfv
oh great, it is the "No age restriction" version........buuuhu, bloody, brutal, more gore, yeah...its TH-cams fault, of course......there was a time the "Homies" were good, i remember slightly.. Tja, was soll´s.....Leben geht weiter, ne waar
Something that I must applaud from this saga is the charisma of Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. Really manages to give a great personality to who is one of the best assassins of the Slasher genre
Blurring that line between dreams and reality is one the clever twists in this film of course - and it seems to have given Mish & Ketty plenty to ponder! Great to see our Homies react so freshly to such a well-worn "old-school" slasher movie such as this.
Nightmare on Elm Street is my favorite horror movie. Robert England was made for Freddy Krueger. He had experience. His Nightmare on Elm Street franchise was amazing. The original movie was better than the reboot. While the reboot Nightmare on Elm Street revealed Freddy's origin story, it wasn't great compare to the original. Robert England is better as Freddy Krueger than Jackie Earle Haley.

Hi Homies, I'm always scared watching Nightmare Before Elm St. I didn't know Johnny Depp in this movie. Freddie Kruger is creepy and scary for me. I'm always hiding my blanket I'm watching scary movies. Happy Early Halloween! 🎃👻
I grew up watching movies like this. My favorites of this saga are the third, fourth and fifth movie, most fun to watch (Freddy KlLLS in very different and ingenious ways and makes JOKES with his VlCTlMS, I love sl@shers made like this). A little curiosity about the ending of this film: Wes Craven wanted a positive ending, while the production wanted an open ending for possible sequels. So the latter won. However, both a second negative ending (with Freddy as the driver of Glen's car), a third negative ending (where the boys go away happy but the mother is killed by Freddy anyway) and the fourth ending (the positive one wanted by Craven, with everyone safe) can be found on the Blu-ray/DVD of the film and also on the web. In my opinion, the meaning of the ending that is normally seen in the film (where everyone dies, mother and guys) means that everything we have seen throughout the film is inside the dream and at the end we are still in the dream, so real life has never been shown in the film. And in my opinion it's the mother's nightmare, as in the third chapter it's said that she died in her sleep. I conclude by reporting two things: the first is a curiosity about the concept of the film. Wes Craven said the idea for the film came to him after reading an article in the Los Angeles Times in the 1970s about Hmong refugees who, after fleeing to the United States because of war and genocide in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, suffered from disturbing nightmares and refused to sleep. Some of the men died in their sleep shortly thereafter. Medical authorities called the phenomenon Asian Death Syndrome. The condition afflicted men between the ages of 19 and 57 and was believed to be either Sudden Unexplained Death Syndrome or Brugada syndrome or both. The second thing is that Wes Craven and Sam Raimi paid homage to each other in their most famous films from their early careers: Sam Raimi paid homage to Craven in "Evil Dead" (1981) by placing a poster of "The Hills Have Eyes" (1977) in the basement, when they find the Necronomicon and the tape recorder, while Wes Craven paid homage to Raimi by having the protagonist watch "Evil Dead" (1981) on her bedroom TV in "A Nightmare On Elm Street" (1984).
At the very end, Nancy's mother and friends were not really back. Those were just dreams of her mother and friends. It's like if in a dream you had a million euros, but in real life you don't actually have it. Just imagination.

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” is from 1984, 6 years before “Home Alone”. It’s a likely influence.
There is a whole film series of it, with 8 parts, plus a remake.
And they're all pure gold
Hit Freddy with the crucifix and shot "THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELLS YOU" lol.

One of the reasons Skeet ulrich got hired for Scream is because he resembled a young johnny depp from this movie
A Nightmare on Elm Street was Johnny Depp's first movie role when Johnny Depp played Glen in the 1984 horror movie called:
A Nightmare on Elm Street
This movie ranked at #17 in the 100 scariest movie moments on Bravo
The creepy dreamy feel of this movie is what sets it apart for me. It also has some of the best jump scares, builds tension well.
Can't have the spooky season without Freddy and yes it was Johnny Depp's first movie
Seen it the week it was released , still holds up ✌️
