Going to be replacing my pulley tensioner myself this weekend on my 2016 535i M SPORT. I was looking for the perfect example video on how to do it and came across this one. Thanks for this video. I will comment when I finish replacing that this weekend.
Just a heads up when you change the tensioner you should always change the belt...if you change the belt you should always change the tensioner...they go hand in hand and your right there so do them together
Totally forgot to mention in the video that my belt is Basically NEW. But yea I agree when you get in there might as well do it all - belt, tensioner and idler pulleys 👍
Once you held the tensioner back with the drill bit. Would removal and installation of a new belt required any other steps or would it simply came off Thanks
How about the idler pulley and bolt ? Should we replace that as well. I’m seeing others selling kits. Is it just a money grab ? Or just tensioner and belt is fine ?

Don’t fix if it ain’t broken is my slogan 👌
@@BIMMERLEAGUE thanks
Very Nice!!! Thank you!
Not problem 👌
Nice video. Did you need to replace any pulleys?
Yes much recommended 👍
if you're replacing the idler pulley, the bolt head is blocked by that bracket from the Ac compressor hoses. What do you do about that?
I don’t remember exactly. Are you able to remove to bracket to get to it ? Otherwise some sort of angled socket
Does this BMW have dynamic drive? I’m trying to figure out if mine does. It makes a difference in the belts.
Just check your vin on mdecoder.com
Hi
Just one question
Will this fit my 2012 x5 35i?
Just purchase the one specific to your car
11.54 a year ago now it’s 40 🤦🏼♂️
Holy moly
My f10 535i just threw drive train malfunction after a pull, opened hood and mine is jumpy but not as bad as yours...will that throw that engine code?
Hey no I don’t think it would
You have to scan it , otherwise you’re just guessing
Where did you purchase the brace? Please provide me a link if you can?
What brace are you referring too? Those are stock lol
Where did you buy the part for $14.99?
Rockauto 👍
Costs $40 from rockauto now
Where get patr from
The link is in description!
Hey sir what part did you actually buy? cuz the link shows a little rubber piece
@@BIMMERLEAGUE Great Video.. the link shows a black rubber piece from INA which i assume is the belt tension and the price is now $38 not $12 anymore.
This video is made in 2022 and it was around 11$ now it's 2024 and it's 42$ crazyyyy
Holy hell that’s crazy!
Rubber part went underneath
Tensioner, belt everything are replaced, all bmw group parts but tensioner shaking again. What can be the problem.
It should have a slight wiggle but if shaking too much brand new I’d look into your harmonic balancer
@@BIMMERLEAGUE When it is cold start,it is shaking as old. When engine is hot, than works without any shake.
Did you replace other idler pulley?
