Would like to give my input on letting the ink sit there for a long time. I just found my rocketbook fusion still written in with notes from AT LEAST a year ago. Came off fine. Like i wouldn't have known the difference. Worked surprisingly well.
Super good to know! I’ve been cautious about letting the ink stay on too long on mine cuz I want it to last.
Check out my video specifically looking at ink drying times in my 'Everything Rocketbook' playlist. There is a tradeoff.
I spend a lot of time looking at planners. I finally decided that I'm tired of storing book after book. I need the process of writing, but I don't need to keep a paper copy of it all. I bought this on a whim earlier this week, and it took me days to learn what you shared in this video! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! I have found with any of my Rocketbook pages I've used colors on, the scans improve incrementally as resolution is increased incrementally. Maximum resolution produces quite a good, accurate scan for me. Of course, more memory is taken up as resolution is increased. I opened a separate Rocketbook account in Google Drive, and all three of my notebooks will last a long time in 15 gb or memory. (I don't scan all my pages, just selectively for what I know I'll reference in future.)
In the beginning of using the Panda Planner, I thought "My gosh... what a lot of detail and busy-work! A planner should save me time, not take so much more." As I've used it, though, I find the reflection and thinking through my goals more carefully, identifying obstacles and strategies, etc, are actually doing what they're touted to do -- helping me consolidate, clarify, and move forward more focused, directed, and organized, which has increased my efficiency, daily productivity, and therefore motivation.
Giving time to watch a few YT videos and explore a bit have made the Panda a good tool for me, and I'm glad I purchased it.

@@JakeReevesVideo Ahaha! By the way, you might be interested in checking erasable Muji pens, I prefer them to the Pilot Frixion. They write better, and they get erased with no problem. Sadly a little bit more expansive, but sometimes they are worth it.

Thank you very much for the video. I find the Panda edition to be backward to actually achieving goals. Using an active system that tracks and reminds you of different dates, milestones, updates, and requests your interaction to stay the course (something like Outlook with a couple of Add-ins), is superior to a static - proactively requires your attention - written set of words. I have the two Core Executive books (for meetings) and two Everlast Mini (for the cars) books. I use the Core daily while in a meeting, and then immediately scan and share the info captured with my staff. I use a couple of Add-ins made specifically for everything the Panda was created for, to do the rest in a fluid method. This way an automated system driven by a calendar, clocks, timers, Macros, notifications, and a great display system, provides the info when milestones achieved. I love my Core Executive, as it allows me to draw Mind Maps on the fly and share faster than I can with fancy software. Thanks again for the video.

Agreed. That would make it easier to carry as the one notebook you need for everything... Hopefully they make a Panda Planner page pack for the Orbit and Axis 🤞
I ordered this for my 12 year old son to help him with school work. It really is too bewildering for him. The templates are not helpful with his homework needs at all.
One minor thing you didnt mention is that some pages are so thin that you can somewhat see through them. FOr example, the annual planning page shows some of the pre-printed lines from the calendar page on the other side. The lines are pretty feint but still nevertheless noticeable.

Possibly. Or it could be the lighting differences. Depending on how hard or soft the lighting is when scanning you may get different artifacts...

Thanks for another great video! Considering this one for my next Rocketbook purchase. I would like the executive size, what do you think about this smaller size vs the letter size? Do you think it is still enough space to work out your thoughts in the templates? I don’t mind writing smaller.. just wondering if it would still be useful.
I have two letter sized Rocketbook planners already so I wanted to give the executive size a try. And might want to be able to carry this one around.

If you need to take it on the go with you and work from small desks in cafe's, etc. I would recommend the Executive. If you need lots of space for your daily agenda though, the Letter may be best. Good luck 👍

Silly question, instead of leaving the long term stuff there for 3 months, couldn't you just erase it and write it out again?
You could, but some of the sections aren't meant to be filled out all at once, and you may want to alter them as you go. But it may be feasible to try to get it all filled in in a single month, then erase. Good suggestion.
Thanks for your Rocketbook videos, Jake. I have a question about the Panda Planner. Is there a way to use 3rd party software - Evernote, PDF editor, etc. - that will allow the user to save scans collectively. In other words, I'd like to have a digital copy of my Panda Planner that I can flip through. Can you please help? Thanks so much!

Do you still need to clean the ink off of each page before 30 days? For me this would only work if I could keep the information I wrote for about 12 months.

I have pages that I’ve written on in my Rocketbook Everlast (now called The Core) welll over a year ago. I recently erased them. In most cases, it erases but leaves behind orange ghosting. It’s subtle enough that I can ignore it. It’s not an issue, but technically... it’s there.

I buy each one to compare them, so I keep them all after. Between those two, the Panda is much more focused on change and habit forming, so it’s quite a bit more involved and elaborate. You may also want to check out the Pro with a daily agenda page pack - or consider getting a dot grid page pack/notebook and make your own template (that’s what I do) ✌️

Newbie here trying to figure out everything rocket 😊 so? Do we have a verdict regarding the more than 30 days/ staining issues?
Would the letter size be better than the executive size? Got the executive size but now wondering if the letter size will be more spacious and have the day on one page.
I only have the letter, so it's hard for me to say, but the trade-off is portability... I use executive for my custome templates because I prefer the smaller size - it's my go to.

I only have the letter, so I haven't had a hands on with the executive. In general, I prefer executive sized Rocketbooks for everyday use, but for something like this, where you're making a full goal plan, it may be worth going for the bigger letter size... I would say the most important variable is whether you'll need to take it on the go frequently, in which case the executive may be best ✌️ Good luck 👍
Why in the world would they do an annual front page and then only give you 3 sets of 2 months and not do 6 sets of two which would be a year? Yeah I know it's an eraseable book but I believe the majority of people will agree with me on this one. Please Rocketbook fix this quick.
Interesting suggestion. My only concern would be that a half-page calendar wouldn't be large enough to include the tasks and notes sections... But of course, this will depend on how much detail you like to leave in your calendar.

No it's the same, they are just revising their suggestions I think. They hope that the trade off of writing on it less often, but leaving it longer will let it work. I suspect you'll get some residue either way, but only a test will tell...
A lot to digest I see why it took you a whole day what pages are worth more time and effort? As well as the most important?
If I had to pick just a few, I would say the first 3 of the goal setting because it helps you find which you want to narrow in on, and how to plan milestones

How long i can use a Book ( if i am using daily )?
It is a hard question to answer, because it depends on how hard you press, the re-use of each part of the page, etc. I think if you are caring for your book and using it daily (as I do) you should expect it to last 1.5-2 years realistically before you run into issues with the page surface coating wearing off. I hope this helps!
This looks to be a great addition to my electronic methods of keeping me on track. I have a Rocket Book, but keep having to erase my pages before the recommended 30 day limit to prevent permanent marking. How does the Panda book solve this problem? I will look to see if they have printable pages and I can just use a binder.
I made a video specifically investigating if 30-days is the real cutoff for staining (check it out for all the details). The short answer is that staining will likely happen after about 4 weeks, so given that, the Panda Planner will likely stain; however the amount of staining over a year is probably about the same whether you leave the ink there the whole time, or if you erase and re-write over the same spot every month for a year... So ink ghosting is just something I think we have to live with as Rocketbook users unfortunately.
@@JakeReevesVideo The whole idea of this technology is allowing the user to reuse the pages. A reusable form if you will. I like the format or templates used in the book and carrying around something as flexible and resilient as Rocket Book. I do find myself taking a photo of each page and then erasing the pages.
I suppose as this is a calendar, goal setting product, things change. Moods change. Circumstances change. So, I guess as days come and go, we can reset our lives easy with the Pander Planner.
Yes, the panda planner is one of the best ways to set, and more importantly plan for, your goals throughout the year. Unfortunately, ink ghosting is a limitation to what would otherwise be a perfect system. I think a lot of it has to do with how much the ink pools though, so if you use a thinner pen and write without pooling too much ink, your ghosting will be less pronounced. It remains reusable either way, it's just that the ghosting causes the pages to discolour a little, which is unfortunate.
I love rocket books and own a few myself. But I don't get the point of a yearly planner given that the ink isn't meant to be left on the page for more than 30 days max. So how can you use this as a yearly planner?
That's a struggle I have with it too. I contacted them about it and they are revoking their 30-day clause. We will see how my 3-month test goes. I've heard mixed things from users and had mixed experiences myself. I think it would be best used for monitoring birthdays.

Ya, the feedback is super mixed. Which is very disappointing because it would be nice to leave it for a full year without issue.
@@JakeReevesVideo hope they develop either a new finish to the paper or a new ink/pen system. Because I'm fair certain even with whiteboards that you're not meant to leave ink on the board for long periods as it will stain permanently
It would be nice to have the freedom to leave it longer. I suspect a lot of it has to do with frequency of use, pressure and ink colour in addition to duration. 👍

The idea, I think, is that if you invest some additional time up-front to identify and solidify your goals, then create an actionable plan to achieve them, you will actually be saving time in the long run because you'll have developed the insight to not accept any additional tasks that are not furthering your goals. Think "Fail to plan, plan to fail."
