Welder's Square

- Welder's squares, sometimes known as fabrication squares allow you to very quickly clamp material into a 90° or 45° position very quickly for welding pieces together. While they are commercially available, they can be quite pricey depending on brand and construction. This is a simple tool that, with some careful layout, can very accurately be built in your workshop. In this example I am building out a 45°/45°/90° welder's square from 2"x2"x1/4" angle iron.
I will eventually be moving all of my welding/fabrication videos to a new channel TX Tradesman, I invite you to join me there.

thanks for posting this , I'm always interested in ways to speed up my layout work for welding . These squares are a great idea , thanks again for a great build !!!!!
Absolutely, I really glad you found it helpful. I hope to get into a lot more welding and fabrication videos in the near future.
Thanks for the idea, that’s gonna save me some money !!
Ya know Ben , I can't get over how mig has become more common place over stick welding that I was taught to be the main way of welding , I guess I'm just old soul 🤣🤣🤣
I've watch a bunch of these how to's, but your's is by far the best 🙌🏼 thanks for the solid content man.
Thank you, when I get home I plan on making a lot more of these types of videos. Right now, I’m just loaded up with work.
Beautiful 👏
Nice welds! It'd be interesting to hear your perspective of any of the fireball tools, like their squares and vices
I haven't tried their stuff. It certainly all looks like it would work great. I just couldn't ever justify the price of their products when I can build my own that work just as well for a fraction of the price.

👍👍 like your video I made two of Bob Elkhart Indiana
Thank you very much sir.
Nice work 🇺🇸💪
Thank you sir.
@@txtoolcrib just subbed to the second channel also👨🏼🏭💯
Thank you sir. I really appreciate the support. I will eventually move all the fab/welding over to that channel as soon as it gets a little more traction.
Boleh juga alatnya bro 👍🤝🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩 indonesia
Hello, Ben - very interesting, saw your build of the stand, it was neat to see you finally using it...subscribed to TXT...Congrats on the 20k...do you plan on demonstrating the use of these builds on future projects?
Thank you sir. Really appreciate your help in getting my other channel off the ground too!
I built this for several upcoming projects. First is a desk for my wife.
Hello, Ben - Ahh, yes - priorities :) - that's a good idea; that way we see you make the tool, and it's application and use in later projects...thanks!
I like the build process but isn’t the point of a tool like this is to enable one to weld the pieces together. Welding from just the outside, with no inside weld undo the clamps purpose?
Wow a proper one not a magnet pos thats popped up on my viewing needs
It sure is a sizable one
Not confuse people but the ones that cost a fortune are ture on in side face as well as out side face hence the price
Very good idea…need to build one!
Sure is a lot cheaper than buying them.
IF U MARKED THE MEASUREMENTS ALSO
WOULD BE GREAT.
GOOD JOB
I did give the measurements. 12” x 12” x 17”
Watch the beginning of the video.
Did you weld the inside also?
No. There was no need.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You really should have a guard on your angle grinder. At least, it looked like you had it removed when you were cutting the angles.
Maybe you should see your optometrist.
@@txtoolcrib considering I haven't gotten new glasses in 5 years that's a fair rebuttal
Watching a video in a bad lighting or low resolution, due to low streaming speed for example, can obscure the details.
The guard is present
Would be nice if the corner had a 45 in it so you can tack weld. Just like these.
