    Great video. The jigs are convoluted, for doing relatively simple tasks. I cant justify making any of these. Probly good for a hobby fitter.

  • @azpcox
    @azpcox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    The beauty of jig 6 is that it can be used on a long stretch of tubing like a fence rail and can be removed easily afterwards. These are all incredibly useful jigs for welding and great projects to make and practice on as well!!! Thanks!

    These are really cool, I just wish there were some measurements or a list to go by so I could plan for materials. I have no clue what size the threaded rod is, angle iron and square tubing. Cool video all around though! Thanks for sharing these ideas, they look very useful.

    • @rjmetzger7885
      @rjmetzger7885 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey buddy, hopefully this helps, but you're better off without sizes. Use the sizes that makes sense for what you actually work on. If this dude gave you a jig size that's perfect for 2" tube and you regularly work with 1", it wouldn't be too useful. Take the concepts and fab to scale on what you need.

    I've never seen these style clamps before my bro. Every single one of them made me see how simple u guys can make things with some cleverly built clamps, etc.. They're actually brilliantly conceived and I'm a little gobsmacked atm pal. U made some really nice clamps there. I'm very glad I found this group of videos this morning bcos was a little lost as to how I was going to be able to clamp things together when I only have a 3mm thick work surface atm.
    Thanks very much for these great ideas my bro.

    If you have a big production run that has lots of repetitive welds these would be great. I never do that though, I'm strictly prototyping and engineering. If I tried to make a jig for every joint I would run out welding gas, steel and room to put them.
