I saw James three times. One of those times was when his career had slowed to the point that he was playing 200 seaters. My friend and I got a table so close to James that when he did splits his feet would go under our table!! He was 54 years old. His career took a turn for the better and the next two times I saw him were packed shows at big theaters.
Loved your reaction to The Godfather of Soul. There's lots of clips of James out there and they're worth finding. He always delivers.
Hardest working man in show business 🤘🤘
The Godfather of Soul! Loved James Brown! ❤❤❤
Eat your heart out world! James Brown is American made! The coolest thing that ever happened! He can't be beat. Simply put, he's Outa Sight!❤
Soul Brother #1.
James Brown was a unique and special talent in all the best respects.
One thing to know is that he's a real musician and band leader. So many of his gesture and dance moves are actually cues for the band. I hope you watch some of his later shows where he'd be "exhausted" after 3 songs and would leave the stage - all an act! - the crowd calls for more and a cape or robe is put around his shoulders as he staggers back on stage for "just one more." This goes on for hours! - he can't go on - he's back - he can't go on - he's back. I was lucky enough to see him 3 times (1970s-80s). A most fabulous show. Try to see some "Live at the Apollo."
Cheers + Happy Holidays to you both!
about 5 years back, I watched a utube video of 15 kids trying to imitate James Brown's dance moves via videos like ya just saw..And all fall down laughing trying!
I love reactions from people that are seeing a performance of Mr. Brown for the first time or maybe even seeing him for the first time. You guys are so enthusiastic. Mr. Brown has been my favorite entertainer since I was 10 years old and 1968. I have everyone of his records I’ve seen him about 100 times in concert over 30 years, I met him a few times. I would love to see you react to more James Brown please.
More to come 😁💚
I saw James twice and both times I was exhausted from all the moving and dancing I did listening to the music . He was awesome live and we have 19 of his records
Amazing 😍 We were sweating just from watching him on the screen. Seeing him live must have been incredible! 💚
❤❤❤
Best Couple. Honest Reactions.❤❤
Thank you 😊
The King of Soul/Funk! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
OH, WHAT A MISSING OPORTUNITY! Because the performance is cut in this video. The whole set IS HISTORY!!! (and made the Rollings Stones - the next group to play - afraid, VERY afraid). Here is the FULL VIDEO of that historical performance in the TAMI SHOW, 1964, 17 minutes well worth:

Many thanks ☺️
Andrei and Dominicka got SOUL! Too much!
Yes, too much! 💚😁
James Brown! James Brown! James Brown! The GOAT.
It looks easy when its mastered. Talent is just a plus.
James is in my blood because he is so much a part of my life. From a young girl listening to Please Please Please, to a young adult with Mother Popcorn to a married mother of two boys with Hot Pants, The Big Pay Back etc. That’s James Brown
Who's got the groove: James Brown. Don't forget the marvellous rhythm section the Jb's❤
That was 1964 there were no JB’s then. They recall the James Brown band and then the James Brown Orchestra. The JB’s didn’t come into affect until 1970.
You're right. But with Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis he reached another level.
@@frankkohnemann1887 Maceo, Fred and Pee-wee were with Mr. Brown in the 1960s when they recalled the James Brown Orchestra. When Mr. Brown fired the band in 1970 or the band quit depending on what story you believe, Fred and Maceo were no longer there when they became the JB‘s. Pee-wee had left earlier. Fred and Maceo came back a few years later.
No one can move and perform like James did. He was literally born there, as you so eloquently put it.
Look at James with the moves, makes you want to get up dance too!
mr. james brown lot's of good songs !
Love games. RIP. He did a song Rocky 4 ,Living in America., and that song was parady by wierd Al Yancavich. He did a fabulous job catching every aspect of mr . Brown's work. Living with a hernia........ha..I feel good.
Little fun fact, this was recorded from the Tami show and during it James discovered he was going to be opening for the Rolling Stones, which did not it sit right with him because he considered himself a closing act so he put on one hell of a show for the Rolling Stones to come out after.
Not true. Many many groups performed in this concert (you can see most of them here on YT)., and of course they - and the audience - know who were going to play. James Brown turn was before the Rolling Stones. Urban legend says that RS was doubting to play after the caos and histeria James Brown created! (another anecdote: James saying to them as he was leaving the stage: "top this" or something like that).
@@escepticus I mean what you said is more detailed of what I said. I’ve seen the whole show so yeah there were many acts but James Brown and the Famous Flames were going to perform before The Rolling Stones which they didn’t like so they made sure to put on an incredible show ending with James Brown as you said left saying “Top That”. As he left. Just google James Brown annoyed by stones at Tami show plenty of info pops up about this.
That was from the TAMI tv show back in the mid sixties and JB's performance (there is much more on youtube)
is the greatest moment in the history of rock and roll and r and b and soul.. By the end he was so tired he couldn't
stand. He was pissed off that the rolling stones got the closing slot and so he went ballistic.
I saw him live in the early 80's.
Front row seats
Excellent concert.
Incredible performer and singer. His bands from the 50s through the seventies were all incredible too. All rock and soul singers borrowed from James brown, they still do. Thanks
"Mr. Please Please Please"
Alone again naturally
Your puppy 🐶 made an appearance behind you 😅
💚🐶
Speaking of the performance, Please Please Please - watch it. ; )
several REAL singers were in "The Blues Brothers" (movie)
please do Ambrosia Holdin on to Yesterday
If you want to see even better dancing from the same show please react to his performance of NIGHT TRAIN.
Now you see where Michael Jackson got his influence.
Hurt me!
James brown liked to beat women
He was pretty sketchy. But he was a great performer.
The two state police chase was pretty wild. I think he held some people at gunpoint before taking off.
He was one of a kind.
that wasn't necessary how many women have you beaten stupid !
