This reminds me of a story: During the Six-Day war in '67, a British missionary saw an Egyption officer w/pistol in hand crawl up to a wounded Israeli soldier, and to the missionary's surprise, dragged the Israeli to safety, then left. Years later at the Camp David Peace Accord, the missionary, then Bishop in the Anglican Church, recognized the Egyption (then a diplomat) and cornered him. It does not matter your culture, your age, but music is poetry and a message put to sound and all of us can enjoy that even if it's in a language we don't understand.

Im afraid you forgot the King of Rock and Roll! Thousands come to Memphis every year to cry over him. The Beatles were the greatest band of all time, but John by himself isn't in Elvis' league.
@@pascualetx3910 Except that John Lennon wrote music. Comparing him to Elvis or Sinatra is weird. They were both great singer, but Lennon was a great musician.
Sweet reaction. I appreciate your appreciation of this song of PEACE. *Just subscribed.*
🤍🤍🤍
This song makes me cry everytime
That’s my generation’s songwriter!! Imagine peace in the Middle East or between all races, tolerance of differing ideas….
hahahaha you are right...he is a legend alright!!! beautiful reaction, sweetie
honey, react to " no more lonely nights" or "pipes of peace" by Paul Mc Cartney, p-p-p-p-please!!
MOST IMPORTANT AND INTELLIGENT SONG EVER....Lennon was a genius....with age 40 he was killed......
This house was called Tittenhurst Park in England. It was their then-home for a couple years from 69-71, before they moved to NYC. Ringo and his family then lived there from 73 to 88.
Good question. He explains. That is where we should be headed. A whole generation grew up thinking, hoping....this, THIS is what we are doing, where we are going. we were so certain. Now, we're rolling up our sleeves to help try and haul it back again. we've BEEN through this, we are not going BACK!
Love your reaction!
Imagine … yes, such a beautiful song with beautiful feelings. ❤️✌️
Hiya Princess,,as always massive thanks for another beautiful reaction from you, you never fail, your love, respect and genuine appreciation for all the older stuff is always great to see. Try checking out John Lenon,Give peace a chance, you will love it, take care Tony here in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤

who was he
he was the Heart and Voice of my Generation
he make Choices to Speak out about Social Injustices, and TRUTHs!
He would Love what Tayler is Doing today ( perhaps not her music but HER)
This song gives me goosebumps, It's so positive my body gets creeped out cause it's contrary to so much we get these days.
I'd known the song forever... But the first time I saw the video, when Yoko sat beside John at the piano, my inner voice was frantically pleading, _"please don't sing... please don't sing... PLEASE don't sing!"_
If you know, you know... ;-]
All time classic song really, legendary, like to see your reaction
watch 'now and then' by The Beatles. It's a song written by Lennon that got lost for years and George, Paul and Ringo tried to record in the 90's after John had passed but the tech at the time couldn't pick up Johns voice. Tech advanced and Paul and Ringo were able to use both Johns vocals and Georges guitar and create a final farewell to the band last year. Super moving th-cam.com/video/Opxhh9Oh3rg/w-d-xo.html
They're walkin through a moment in time baby. One that likely meant the world to them.
The Bishop marveled that a Muslim risked his life to save his enemy a Jew. Then he ask the former officer ...WHY? The Egyptian riley smiled and said, "At the time, it just seemed the 'Christian' thing to do."
The Egyptian soldier was probably a Coptic Christian.
@@anthonyeaton5153 Possibly. However, I like to think of him as indeed a Muslim, and a man of mercy, who, regardless of whatever faith, can look beyond one's politics, culture, religion, or race, to see the value of a life.
You need more time on this rock. So good to learn more this man and his impact. Then you might get how this hits
Btw too it’s a masterpiece, play this anywhere in the world and people will immediately recognise it
the most beautiful song ever written...
This is the official video for the song, but the song that Lennon released simply starts with the music. This video then accompanied it.
She is such a sweetheart ❤
To quote Lennon. When I was a child in school the teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I answered, I want to be happy. The teacher said you don't understand the question, I said you don't understand life.
Saw your Forrest Gump reaction that scene in the film where forest meets John Lennon on the chat show was hinting that conversation was the inspiration for this song ! haha this song is a masterpiece ! growing up my mum was a huge Beatles and Lennon fan, Woman is another great song from his solo catalog you should check out !
I love Yoko letting the light in and John doing the same. Peace.
This song was inspired by a former college football All-American kick returner, Vietnam veteran, and Medal of Honor recipient when Lennon and he were guests on The Dick Cavett Show. The man was part of the US Ping Pong team and had just been to China. After they left the studio, the man ran into his old Lieutenant from the Army, who eventually became his first mate, and they became a successful business team for a colossal shrimp company.
I think you maybe talking about Forrest Gump which a lot of people think was a real person. The Bubba Gump shrimp company are real but that’s all i’m afraid. It's a movie starring Tom Hanks.
@@tysapienx8091 Hey! Learn to have a sense of humor. Also, I know you're not the real Spiderman.
@@dsscam 😂 i figured you were joking, us Brits have a dry sense of humour so no offence meant. And it’s Deadpool not Spiderman 😂✌🏻❤🇬🇧
This is song for all worlds leaders
This sweet man was sadly killed on a sidewalk in New York City. But his music lives on.
When John Lennon died I was twenty and cried for a week and did not care. I loved the guy.
One of the all time great songs of the 20th Century. Listen newbies closely.
Don't forget alot of people from different cultures may not remember an artist that died about years ago
But she understands a masterpiece,bravo dear😊.
What culture does it sound like she's from though? :)
@@jeschinstad I would say Jamaica or the indies sounds like a British populated country. God bless her,she does a great job.
@@RobertSmith-iw2kb Hehe, I would say London or at least England. I would never have thought of Jamaica. :)
@@jeschinstad when you've dealt with as many people as I have as a driving instructor, you get to know the accents as well as meeting the people 😊
It was the time he was living in that inspired the lyrics just like Marvin's What's Going On . Sometimes the greats put lyrics down that resonate through decades.
It does not matter your culture, your age, but music is poetry and a message put to sound and all of us can enjoy that even if it's in a language we don't understand.
This is my all time favorite song..❤
John Lennon was assinated on December 8, 1980. There is a memorial to him in the Strawberry Fields area of Central Park NYC about midway up on the west side.the memorial is a circular tile pattern in the pathway. It simply says Imagine. His murder site is visible from the memorial. It's the Dakota building about 200 yards away.
I remember when John Lennon was shot, it pretty much hit all of us. I was in High School. I was taking a Social Studies class called Man and the environment. It was taught by a young guy who was pretty much a hippy. The day after Lennon was shot he was profoundly affected by Lennon’s death. He brought in a record player and Lennon’s Imagine album. That’s all we did in class that day, listen to that album and particularly this song. It was exactly what we needed to be doing that day. I imagine today he might be fired in some schools for doing that.
Hi Princess, John Lennon was a member of the beatles. A British band that was one of the four pillars of modern music as we have today. Sadly John was gunned down by a crazed american while he was in New York. Thankyou and try to learn heaps about great music, you will love it. Thankyou Princess.
How do you not know the Beatles? He is literally a music icon who's songs will live on forever
Ok
This is my absolutely favorite song.
John was one of my heroes. He and Yoko worked so hard to end the war ☮️
Probably the most important song ever written.
John Lennon and Yoko Ono was so in love. They loved each other so much and they were inseparable. John walked out into the park in New York one morning and somebody shot him dead. A crazy man, absolutely devastating and I remember that day. I remember my mum and crying in the house when it was on the television. The news and I remember the picture of John Lennon on the wall in the background in the house with New York City. Imagine what Yoko felt like when losing John the whole world. Grieved
A simple message, not so simple to achieve. We're not there yet, perhaps someday? We can only imagine.
How can someone not have ever heard this?
John lennon is the best songwriter the uk as ever had, all his songs are meaningful you cant go wrong with him try jelous guy or mother by him .
John Lennon airport in Liverpool has the logo. Above Us Only Sky..
I'm sure John is happy with your recommendation.
This was also the same John & Yoko couple who were in the Beatles video for George's song Something, that you reacted to a few weeks ago.
