How to Use OverDrive's Libby App

This brief tutorial will introduce you to using Libby on a mobile device. Libby is produced by OverDrive and is an easy to use application that requires minimal steps to create an account and access the items you want to read, listen to or watch. This tutorial will demonstrate how to create an account, search for items, check them out and adjust some of your settings. We used an Android mobile phone to demonstrate these steps, but the steps are similar on other mobile devices. Visit thelibrary.org for more information.

Does any of the books go to the library and not my phone ?

If you're using the Libby app, the books are available to read on whatever device you're using the app on, whether that's a phone, tablet or e-reader. If you want to read from a hard copy book, you'll have to check one out from one of the branches, the Mobile Library or Library Express West. You can place holds in advance at thelibrary.org/catalog. I cannot open anything on my NOOK since i installed LIBBY!

We're sorry you're having trouble using Libby on your NOOK, Lynda. According to the OverDrive help page, "On newer NOOK tablets (including color-screen devices like the NOOK Tablet 7", NOOK Tablet 10.1", and Samsung Galaxy Tab NOOKs), you can install our new Libby app or the original OverDrive app to borrow and enjoy ebooks and more from your library."
