Vault 19, the vault with the red and blue groups, is most likely based on the Robbers Cave Experiment. A social psychological experiment were they had two groups of boys artificially create rivalries in a summer camp. Also like to say that this is another banger in the iceberg videos. The entries are getting more interesting and more unknown. Like pickman in fallout 4, I remembered when I first found those paintings of his back in 2015. Felt like I entered an irl gaming creepypasta. But I haven’t seen much talk about him and his paintings online. The painting of the many eyes, I once joked that it was some eldritch god. But with his found connection to Dunwich. Now I’m really interested. I’m a huge fan of HP lovecraft, so whenever something new is found of Dunwich in fallout, I get happy. Awesome vid 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥
About Dogmeat being a Synth, it should be noted that Synth Gorillas also don't drop synth components, so I'm wondering if it's even necessary that Synths have that particular component. It has to be something extra not needed for the synth to actually function. Especially since it looks the same as the courser chip. The wiki says the courser chip allows teleportation into the Institute. Interesting. Maybe synth components just allow the possibility of teleportation if needed? Like, have it pre-installed and just needing the software of the chip to be updated? So maybe not ever synth HAS to have a synth component.....really makes you think.
More iceberg content let's gooooo Also the bridge of death in FO2, for anyone curious who doesn't know, is a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the bridge keeper asks you questions 3 and if you succeed you can cross, otherwise you die. In the movie they ask a question to him and he can't answer, so he dies. I assume the game does the same
My personal Decon head cannon is that he’s an ex-institute agent from before they used Coursers. He knew about the significance of Vault 111 and kept an eye on it in case the SS came out too. He could have the same life extending impants as Kellogg. Or knowing Decon/Bethesda, he was one of the guys who retrieved Shawn
Part of me also thinks Dogmeat appearing like that is a bit of a joke. The player can comment on having a missing dog prewar, and when the game really starts, you find Codworth after all these years, then leave Sanctuary and immediately find the descendant of Nate and Nora's lost Dog too. Yeah he's probably a synth, but I find it funny that Nate can find so much of his prewar life, including his old neighbours, with enough effort.

That is so true, I was watching some CinnamonToastKen, and got the notification, and was like "welp!! Ima do that immediately after this video, where are my earbuds" hahaha
A theory I had about the Reds and Blues at Vault 19 is that when the entrance opened, or was opened by something (either an outside or an inside force), both factions though that the other ones can have the already half-functioning, failing and doomed Vault and that they would find something better on the surface. Of course, they were not prepared for the Mojave, and if I remember correctly, definitely not prepared for the Deathclaws scattered in a few hundred meter radius of the Vault. Speaking of which, could they have something to do with the Deathclaws? Probably not, but no one can expect Todd Howard's and/or Josh Sawyer's ways.
Always worth a replay, also try out the Grounded Commonwealth mod, the creators paid voice actors to revoice a bunch of npcs and fixed a bunch of weird dialogue

22:20 we actually have a possible theory as to why dogmeat is so healthy. The fallout TV show gave us a glimpse into an enclave dog-training/FEV facility. Is it possible that there is another facility nearby the commonwealth where this one escaped? Mama Murphy has known dogmeat for an unknown amount of time but seems suspiciously aware of his personality and habits. Further inspection of dogmeat’s character reveals him as having been trained, combat proficient, and no apparent owner on top of being what seems to be a perfect animal in a world of wild mongrels and mutated hounds (which might be what the enclave is going for having both dog-training and FEV in the same facility; pre-programmed/trained mutant hounds).
That's such a good theory, I thought that dogmeat was possibly a synth, but then there are other dogs that look like 'normal' dogs, so I'm unsure how they would come into play with those theories
@@Punkinfluence_666 and the other thing is, while you can find synth animals inside the Institute, you don’t see anything about dogs. Only birds and gorillas.
@lazarusofdeath3123 that's very true actually, it would make more sense that he was from somewhere like the dog training facility, and since FEV extends life span indefinitely it would make alot more sense since dogmeat is in every game.
Can we just talk about how spectacular of an easter egg joke meeting Dogmeat was? When I first played, I was in tears laughing. You find a dog, at a location named 'red rocket'.

The Bridge Keeper may be a reference to the bridge keeper in Monty Python and The Holy Grail who asks the Knights of the Round Table three questions in order to pass his bridge. Getting any of them wrong results in death. King Arthur gains passage by asking the Bridge Keeper a question he doesn't know the answer to resulting in the Bridge Keeper's death.

I’m surprised the bridge from fallout 2 was a tier three mystery, considering it’s just an Easter egg from Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Definitely a surprise, but a welcome one 😉
I had no clue it was referencing anything. Not everyone has seen that movie, most people I know never have. That’s probably why it is where it is on the iceberg.
@@falseshepherd-490 i suppose it would have been an easier reference back when the game came out. I think your theory for s9-43 is a good one but I think it could be that child of atom you encounter in the qurst where you go into the underground part of the airport
I think dogmeat is a synth. Consider this: a synth escaped i stitue custody and is named along the same line Shaun is. They say it escaped near tge airport. I find it funny that then in Far Harbor you meet a super mutant at a plane selling dogs. He comments how he's never seen a dog like dogmeat before. The comic as inspiration adds to the idea of dogmeat being an inspiration to get Nate along his way. But as weve seen, dogmeat has a mind of its own.
Working on a playthrough of fallout 4 while listening to this in the background. It helps makes the slower bits in the game more enjoyable, thanks for the video.

The sea of tranquility conflict is when the humans landed on the moon a second time to mine it for resources. The Lunarians took it as an act of aggression and retaliated. The Americans took the Lunar Capitol with the assistance of Junko. The Watatsuki sisters, leaders of the Lunar Defense Corps were backed into a corner with most Moon Rabbit troops either dead or captured, eventually leading to Lord Tsukuyomi surrending. It was a really brutal conflict with Junko razing the Lunar Capitol afterwards. How could you forget this? She committed so many war crimes.
It's so sad that I have come to expect so little from Bethesda, that I expect any strangeness or mysterious happenstance to be just the developer's lazyness
Interesting thing about Dogmeat: if you skip past Red Rocket and don't him up, Nick Valentine summons him when needed for the main quest. Considering Nick is also a synth, it adds a little more fuel to the theory that Dogmeat is a synth.
You forgot about John Hancock wasn’t he a pre-war ghoul? He took an experimental drug before the war and turned into one he claims to be the first one ever made.
John Hancock was originally John McDonough, Mayor McDonough’s little brother who only became a ghoul after the ghouls were kicked out of Diamond City. I think you’re thinking of Eddie Winters, the mobster from Nick Valentine’s past who turned himself into a ghoul.
For the bridge keeper mystery…i believe it is an easter egg that references the movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. In the movie there is a bridge keeper who asks king arthur and his knights 3 questions and if they get one wrong they are cast into the ravine below. The movie is hilarious, I highly recommend it!
An enjoyable video with a lot of interesting and intriguing bits of info! The bridge keeper, though, is a reference to Monty Python's Holy Grail, and is probably about as relevant to the series' plot as the crashed Star Trek shuttle.
For the duplicated raiders at the fishpacking plant, they could be synths, because in FO3 during the "Replicated Man" quest, the railroad agent gives you a synth component, which is only obtainable by killing a synth, but the synth it's from is very much still alive, so the railroad might have a way to remove synth components without killing the synth.
Something I've always thought about with the Institute (and sorta connects to the mysterious absence of Dr Zimmer) is why they never, in their 210 years of existence, decided to build another site to do their experiments elsewhere in the Fallout universe - a Site B if you will. If there is a Site B somewhere out there, I'm willing to bet that it's currently located in the same area that Fallout 5 is set in and that Dr Zimmer is currently residing there now that the original Institute is gone and could also be wherever these "high profile" units are located.
Wait... what if S-943 is Deacon? He goes everywhere and gets facial surgery often, according to his dialog with the Dr in Diamond City, so maybe his last sighting with his original face was at the Airport
If Dogmeat is a synth then he must be the one that escaped to the airport. That would put him closer to Quincy. And he would probably already be programmed to be friendly to Shain and anyone hes related to. Its just wierd that hes never recognized as such and hes definitely not put there deliberately since we can have him with us working against the Institute and they have no idea. And the Coursers never recognize him.
Nitpick: The description of "Pickman's Model" wasn't quite accurate. Richard Pickman created horrifying paintings of ghouls (mythical corpse eaters, not Fallout mutants) and after he disappeared it was discovered that he had been painting them using actual living ghouls as models. He later reappeared in "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" having become a ghoul himself.
I'm new to your channel and wonderful storytelling. Also new to the game. Can you do the "Boston killer " story? All took place in the Boston Sewers. Thanks. This game rocks.
I havent seen anyone talk about this, but in the intro to fallout 4, there is a dog bowl that you can interact with and your character makes a comment, saying, "never gonna catch that dog", what if dogmeat is a synth replica of the dog.
I think the most likely explanation for Dr. Zimmer is that he was supposed to be part of the Far Harbor DLC, but was cut for whatever reason. That would explain why he was away from the Commonwealth.

It’s been less than a month….
The videos do have time stamps, this is verifiable information
@BlueScreenCorp it's called a joke. How long it feels like it has been and how long it has actually been are clearly 2 different things
It feels like I've been waiting less than 3 weeks

Also the bridge of death in FO2, for anyone curious who doesn't know, is a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the bridge keeper asks you questions 3 and if you succeed you can cross, otherwise you die. In the movie they ask a question to him and he can't answer, so he dies. I assume the game does the same
Shame on you for making me boot the game to remember. Remind me to answer in two week if I haven't already lol

Still my favorite game franchise of all time, even after all these years. There's something about fallout that you just can't find anywhere else.

Dogmeat in Fallout 4 is based on a dog in the real world, that's why he looks "normal" as opposed to messed up.
It’s explained in the Fallout series, dogs are not mutated because they are in mass breeding facilities that the enclave constructed.
@@AzuraDragona That was the west coast, and one location. The Dog is simply an archetype character.

My guy making content for a game that came out In 2015 ... and still makes it feel new, absolutely amazing 👏
Always worth a replay, also try out the Grounded Commonwealth mod, the creators paid voice actors to revoice a bunch of npcs and fixed a bunch of weird dialogue
That came out in 2015, 2010, 2008, 1998 and 1997 more likely, if he will not venture into Tactics and such)
Nate has a good speaking voice and does good presentations. You can also tell he puts a lot of work into his videos, or pays a great editor. He always knows how to take strange parts of the games and put it in the spotlight in a way that almost makes you want to revisit the games.
Videos, not "content". "Content" is the word advertising agency peons use, because to them, it doesn’t matter what puts eyes on commercials. "Content" is sand to fill a bucket.
@@GodActio it's weird how they just replace (pretty much) every woman with a man and re voice (most) characters to be white, i know it's supposed to be "so that the experience now aligns more with what you would expect from a caricatured America that never moved on from its 1950s Atomic Age culture" but it's been 210 years.

Dr. Zimmer can be killed in Fallout 3 by Harkness. It's likely he is still missing because he's may possibly be dead depending on player choice.

I'm patiently waiting for the next parts. This was so interesting to listen to, some were new and even old ones you usually sprinkled in your own theories making it enjoyable
The bridgekeeper is 100% an easteregg joke about Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail
I'm so appreciative of these videos, I love learning about the worlds I explore and these Skyrim and Fallout videos have been some of my favorites to watch. Keep up the great work Nate!

I’m surprised the bridge from fallout 2 was a tier three mystery, considering it’s just an Easter egg from Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Definitely a surprise, but a welcome one 😉
It's not even an easter egg, it's just a straight up reference.
I had no clue it was referencing anything. Not everyone has seen that movie, most people I know never have. That’s probably why it is where it is on the iceberg.
@@falseshepherd-490 i suppose it would have been an easier reference back when the game came out. So much of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are just references to movies, games and other bits of pop culture. It was a big part of the charm.

Powder gangers absolutely are ruthless and senselessly evil. Look at Ringo's caravan, look at Primm, talk with them a bit: they are just a bad and cruel raider faction.

I think you’re thinking of Eddie Winters, the mobster from Nick Valentine’s past who turned himself into a ghoul.
no you're talking about Eddie winters
For the bridge keeper mystery…i believe it is an easter egg that references the movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.
In the movie there is a bridge keeper who asks king arthur and his knights 3 questions and if they get one wrong they are cast into the ravine below. The movie is hilarious, I highly recommend it!
In bed in agony unable to move... perfect timing for the man, the myth, the legend to post the second part to the fallout mysteries iceberg ♡

I’m sick too homie 😂 this video was for sure a save
Three Dawg was originally going to be in the Sim Settlements 2 mod reprising that role. But Bethsidia told them no way.
Oooh nice one. I’d forgotten about that. Thank you. The Makra Fishing plant mystery has been puzzling me.
I've had pretty much 12 hours bingeing nate i regret nothing
Please, I need Part 3. Fallout mysteries are my drug now.

Nate has come so far on the internet!
