we found squirrels are great at keeping snakes away from the yard, kill small snake and drive big ones away to protect their babies-- of course at my job as ranch hand for 44 years I had orders to kill rattlers on sight-- as the ranch would loose 6 baby calves plus a year to snake bite-

There are no poisonous snake there are only venomous snakes poison has to be ingested
