    Congrats on the video, but sadly this repair needs a bit more work to last... we have a video on our channel where we show the full process of fixing this issue for good: th-cam.com/video/kPLyjR_Au4U/w-d-xo.html

    Should be able to reaball existing chip and run c12 jumper. Just replacing it will have a repeat fail due to stress fractures.

  • @GregM
    @GregM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Isn't this related to the known issue in iPhone7s where there is a flex issue with the phone along side of the SIM tray right where the Audio IC is located? It creates a solder connection on pad C12 on the audio to a nearby cap to fail. Soldering a jumper from this pad to the CAP solves audio issue with voice memos etc.

    • @electronicsrepairschool
      @electronicsrepairschool  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i dont really know, the phone had no lag.

    • @GregM
      @GregM 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya usually will notice a slow boot up when the C15 issue occurs or people not hearing you on cell call. Not being able to record or play back any voice memos is an indication a jumper may be required. I guess thats is the result of having " thinnest and lightest" iPhone yet design or heaven forbid people putting phones in their pockets.

    Hello, I got an iPhone 6 that was dropped in water. The sound is intermittent. I tried to replace the speaker but the problem persist. Any idea what I should check on the MB? Audio in calls and through earphones is fine

      @@AmazingCodCasting did you fix it?

    • @AmazingCodCasting
      @AmazingCodCasting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ocean iPhone Repair (by Appointment Only) unfortunately no. It just got worse. The motherboard started to over heat and it stopped turning on afterwards. Just sold the phone for parts. TBH, this was way above what I am comfortable with but a good learning experience.

  • @jeff15

    You think the main issue was because the cell got too hot overtime, maybe placing a small amount of copper tape can fix the issue permanent after you reflow it. ? Awesome videos. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work.

    • @electronicsrepairschool
      @electronicsrepairschool  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes, that what i'm thinking! Maybe a small piece of thermal pad will solve the issue

  • @VincentVega111

    You are a great technician... Many videos on extract, reball, cut here and cut there, do jump.... You simply did what is enough to fix the problem, and it was great. I still don't understand how you can put screws that were not in order, how you do it? What is the secret? I lose a lot of time to put it in order, so that i don't make mistakes when i reassemble everything.

    I am new in the field of repair and I encounter a problem with two iphone 7 who have the same problem,
    problem ic speaker, after changing the ic cpeaker, work well done on both but I encounter the following problems:
    1 - phone reboot every two minutes
    2 - when the phone turns on the battery is 1% (battery charged)
    3 - when I plug in the charger the battery indicates a percentage and when I unplug the charger it indicates another percentage
    I put you in attachment the video

    Hello, i’m just starting with soldering and have set the temperature at 370 degrees but the chip isn’t moving 😁. Do You have to place the end of the gun against the chip of just above? Or if somebody has other tips then please let me know. Thanks very much.

    Kudos to you mate I just fixed mine doing what you did and I have no experience what so ever in doing these things. Mine didn’t move like yours did but I believe I got it hot enough and place a little pressure so the ic board can connect more I guess and well it works my mic and calls work now thanks to you. All the other videos had you removing it and adding copper to this part and that part and you made it simple thank you for that.

    • @DanielCardei
      @DanielCardei 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      reflash the bios just in case but back it up 1st.
      if CPU soldered then you need an oscilloscope to see if CPU its active on the memory module.
      if the CPu the memory doesn`t start.

    Bit of an amatuer really. Did'nt even switch the phone off before he started taking it apart.
    Working on what looks like a concrete slab, not ideal if you drop the phone on it.
    Also does'nt appear to be using any antistatic precautions. Schoolboy errors.
