I’ve seen them in concert. Hubby and I dressed up and had the BEST time! All of their music is amazing. Morgan James also is opera trained. She refuse to ever be “auto-tuned”, so what you hear is 100% her.

Check out Morgan’s cover of Sledgehammer. That’s an amazing performance!!! Just a little background about Mrs. James. She’s a Juilliard trained opera singer who has performed on Broadway. Her current style is more jazzy/R&B. Morgan put out an album covering Nina Simone’s songs as a tribute to her. You should go down the Morgan James rabbit hole; I think you’ll really enjoy it!

PMJ was formed by the piano player Scott Bradlee, and is a collection of rotating vocalists and (I think) musicians, doing these 'out of genre' covers, and doing them excellently!

Guy, girl, gay, straight, it don't matter. you listen to Haley sing Creep, you're in love. She uses nearly every vocal technique that there IS in under 3 minutes and makes it sound as natural as breathing or walking.

Morgan James can flat out SANG!!!! PMJ does a great job spinning these songs back in time. Morgan's got a lot of great music out there. PMJ feat Haley Reinhart "Creep" is another bonafide crusher song. Morgan is like "Fire", Haley is like the "Smoke" love them.
I don't know who does the arrangements for PMJ, but they do an awesome job of fitting the music to the talent.
Goosebumps! What I noticed is the crispness of her vocals. One can understand the lyrics better here than in Aerosmith's iconic version.

"suited and booted", yes! Was just talking with my wife and a couple that we went out to dinner with last night. Nicer place in town, it was a spontaneous "let's get some dinner" kind of thing. When I found out where we were going I replied that I needed to change. I was going to at least slip on a button down shirt and a blazer. The other wife said "no need, her husband had a sweatshirt on". So I didn't change. There wasn't a "need" to get all decked out, but we all agreed that it didn't feel right to be in there as casual as we were. I like the idea of the "50's-60's" era of wearing suits and dresses to go out.
This rendition is ridiculously good. Morgan James' pipes are something else.

Morgan James caught my eye listening to her sing Maroon 5's MAP in 1970s style!!! She has some pipes! Dream on is sung in Deep South Blues genre fashion. I wish more Black Americans would sing like Bibby King, Robert Johnson, and Bessie Smith. The Blues came about from the suffering of Black Americans i.e. slavery and segregation. As part of Black History month, we all need to listen to the Blue genre singers of the past. You can feel their soul crying out!! As Christians, we all have a soul within us. When injustice is being done the human soul cries out in some way or fashion. Our fellow Black American singers were reaching out to all Americans via songs.... in a way to express their suffering in the current political climate of the time. We MUST embrace our horrible past and never go backward.

Me and my husband went to nice restaurant that had music like this.
I've been a BIG fan of Morgan for a few years now. Absolutely LOVE her!!! The first time I heard this cover I just couldn't get Steven Tyler's voice out of my head. It wasn't until I listened for the third time that I could truly appreciate Morgan's cover.
Morgan studied opera at Julliard (her classical training is why she has those big pipes) and has played on Broadway. She didn't appear in any of the talent shows because of the age limitation. She was signed under Epic Records and released two albums. After she was released from Epic she started her own band and is married to the guitar player, Doug Wamble. She also is an indy under Hedonist Records LLC. If I may suggest, check these songs from Morgan out as well.

Morgan is one of the hardest workers in the industry. For example, Morgan dreamed that she performed Jesus Christ Superstar as Jesus and Shoshana Bean was Judas. She decided to put on an entire female production of JSC and started hand selecting some of the best vocalists, performers, musicians, producers and engineers in the business - all females. She put on a live concert at he the Highline Ballroom and later got Pledge Music involved to raise some money to produce an album. Unfortunately Pledge Music stole everyone's money (allegedly) and filed bankruptcy. She's managed to release several of the songs anyway and is still doing what she can to release the entire thing. To paraphrase her, “It will get released, I just don't know when.”
