Lovely use of Hans Zimmer's "You're So Cool" from True Romance.
Since his late night radio appearances on Mark & Lard with his Cult Film Corner and the Cling Film show on 1fm, I've always respected Mark Kermode. He is one cool dude.

I tuned in for the first time about 17 of those 21 years ago. At the time I was only a young lad in school with black nail polish and totally mad about 70s American cinema. Two great teachers took an interest in me, looked past my abrasive attitude and connected with me over a mutual love of film. They both recommended the show and I’ve listened ever since. Now I’m in my thirties, lost the nail polish but gained a beer belly and currently sat on a Friday night having a wee sob. It’s been a trip gentlemen. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

I start listening to the show ten years ago (on a recommendation from my brother), and it has been such a consistent and wonderful part of my week. I've learnt more about film criticism and movies in these two hours a week that I could have ever have learnt on any paid course. Thank you for championing horror movies, giving the audience the opportunity to tell you when you were right or wrong, introducing me to wonderful movies such as Good Vibrations, The Arbor and Red Road to name a few. Thank you for easing my homesickness when I lived abroad, and thank you for the knowledge that a good movie can really make everything ok in the end.

I’ve listened to the programme for 10 years from the day I typed in four lions in TH-cam and listened to my very first review of Mark Kermode on 5 live. I love watching every film I get the chance to watch at the cinema and then eagerly waiting in anticipation to see what Marks thoughts are on the film. It has been a joy of mine for many a year and a tradition that will be sad to no longer follow. I even once managed to meet Mark at Sheffield train station 10 around the time I first started listening and he was fantastically charming and me embarrassingly starstruck. It has been a joy and a privilege to listen to them over all these years, I hope their future endeavors are just as amazing as their time talking together on the radio about films. I was going to ask who the woman cutting short the interview was.
I don't remember that. Was she angry about something?

@@MrRozzwell it was when she did Diana. I think she knew how bad the film was and really didn’t like Simon asking some fairly difficult questions

Thank you both for your wit, banter and good old fashioned journalism. If other journalists in other fields like politics had the same courage as Mark to call out the bulls**t, we'd all be living in a much better world!

You two have meant so much to all of us for so long - thank you for everything. Even though this isn’t the end, and I can’t wait for the new show, this trip down Witter lane is incredibly emotional

A genuine loss in my life. I have followed the perfect pair since Radio 1 days. It has been a constant in my life for too many years than I care to remember. All I can say is thank you for every show, but thank you more for being yourselves for all those years. . . Goodbye Jason Isaacs.

Thankyou for helping this American discover fantastic and interesting UK films that never be on my radar otherwise. Movies like The Falling, London Road, and especially Good Vibrations (which I watch at least once a year). You're enriched my life and enlivened my soul.
