I have, however, seen instructional videos showing the front zipper used opposite to how you've described it (in the full extended position for newborns/smaller babies, and zipped to the shorter form for larger babies). Just thought I'd make mention of this, as initially I made the same assumption as you. Thanks
These carriers are damn awful to use and badly designed. Once baby is between 8 weeks and 3-4 months of age you can't comfortably use the infant insert without them sitting too high or their little legs getting jammed inside the carrier because the seat panel is far too wide for their legs to sit out. As you can see in the video the lady is using a much older baby (almost a toddler size). I much prefer my Boba 4g :) lightweight, comfortable and super easy to use.
