Thank for the videos steve. I use to have these. They died after 9mths using them. Realise lasers are not ideal for constant use. But bought a different brand and used them every 30mins intervals. Looking forward to the next video.
Appreciate the input and sorry to hear about yours dying :(
I've had pretty good luck with my cheaper lasers but admit they aren't under constant use -- I think a lot depends on the quality control from the manufacturer.
Thanks for watching and look forward to posting the next one!
@@LearnLizard Well I’ve purchased 2 Laserworld 230R £120 each. Which is around $160 each. They are very good. It has Shut off switch if they are over used certain times. They are lower range lasers but are quality built.
Looks amazing I love using fog when I use my lights I have little dot lazers that I use with them
Cool- I'd love to see that if you have any videos to share. Appreciate you watching!
Thank you as always for the cool videos!! Keep it up. 👍
Appreciate your words of encouragement and thanks so much for watching!
Excellent video, Steve. Also that may be the coolest shirt I've seen in a long time!
Thanks Jeff!! Do you know some place where I could get a Caedence T-Shirt?! Hope you are well and appreciate you watching this one.
@@LearnLizard Hopefully we will have some in time for NAMM! I can give you one there.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Thank you for watching!
With this laser, are you able to remove any unwanted patterns from the auto and sound active modes, or do you need a dmx controller to do things like that?
You would need a DMX controller. The auto and sound modes are preprogrammed and can't be altered. Appreciate you watching!
oooh vinegar and distilled water, thanks
what do you recommend t disperse and control fog/smoke on open areas?
50% white vinegar mixed with 50% distilled water and run it through the machine (just like fog) for about a minute. Quite a bit cheaper than commercial fog machine cleaner!
...when you are outside you will see the effects of fog or haze near the machine but the mist dissipates into the open air and its very hard to control and maintain a consistent beam effect as you can indoors. Appreciate you watching!
Hey Steve! First of all let me say thanks for the videos, there great! Second I was wondering what editing software you use. Sort of weird question, but just wondering.
I've been using FCPX for a while now. (I do almost all the graphics with it too)
I agree with the person who said. "the best software program is the one you already know!" Thanks for watching...
Good morning, can you please make lessons for washer light? Thank you so much, i like your way of teaching us how to program this lights😍
Hi and thanks for that suggestion! A video devoted to wash lights would be fun to make. Appreciate you watching
@@LearnLizard Good morning from Nigeria... Pls I just bought a pilot 2000 mixing console and I really need a tutorial video from you to help me utilize it. I have not been able to use it since I bought it. I had been using the 512 mixer console from your previous video. Pls help Thanks
Thank you so much for these videos. Can you please show us how to create wide flat lasers like in Mr Beast's diamond video? Keep up the great work
Hi- Higher end lasers with high scan rates (like a LaserCube Pro) can produce good flat banding and "liquid sky" effects. You also can achieve similar effects with smaller lasers (even laser pointers) by projecting them through special lenses or glass. Of course you need fog or haze in the air to see the flat beams.
That's a great subject for a future video 🙂
Thanks for the idea and thanks for watching!
Great Video very helpful. Can you make a Video about Laser Safety in the future please?
Thanks for that suggestion- I’m always trying to think of new video topics and I’ll keep that in mind for the future. Appreciate you watching!
Thanks, it would be great :)
Hello. I love your videos! So much great info. I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a laser that can do a rain effect in pink? It’s for a birthday party for a teenage girl. Are there any lasers out there that can achieve this? Thanks again!
Purple Rain, Purple Rain! To achieve a specific effect like that I would recommend a LaserCube from Wicked Lasers. They aren’t cheap, but you can program almost any effect using the software that runs on a Mac or PC.
Thanks for the watching!!
I’ve been watching the video about programming scenes in Obey 40. I’m stuck on getting scenes saved on bank 2. I overwrote some of bank 1
Hi- You have to follow these steps exactly for it to work.
1- Create your scene
2- Press "Midi/Add"
3-Press the "Bank Up" "Bank Down" buttons until the bank you want shows in the LED display (above the word Bank)
4-Press the Scene Button that you want to save to.
5-Exit Programming mode.
Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Please can you do a light show
Absolutely! In fact I'm working on one right now. Thanks for watching!
Would these work well Outdoors with a haze machine
This beam effect does not work very well outdoors because smaller lasers like this are not as powerful as you would typically see in an outdoor show and the fog dissipates and basically floats away outdoors. (It can still look OK if the laser is right next to the fog machine) Appreciate you watching!
Hope your eyes were ok after 8:41
Ha! Yeah, still OK- but definitely need to use caution with these guys- especially with a live audience.
I would like to buy that fog machine but i couldn't use it at my apartment
I have an upstairs neighbor at my studio and sometimes I worry they will see the fog coming out the windows and call the fire department!!
Hi David, I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Great videos for a newbie like myself. Question, what's the main difference between a fog and haze machine. I'm looking for something for home party use (smaller area). I have moving lights, LED pars and a laser. Seems like the fog machine in this video would work well? Thank you!
Hi and great question. Entry level fog machines are generally less expensive than hazers. They make a thicker more “opaque” fog that lasts a shorter amount of time. Hazers create a thinner, more translucent effect that really showcases lighting effects and the haze hangs in the air for a longer period of time. (often used for larger stage/theatrical productions) For home party use I think you will be happy with a small fog machine like this one. Thanks for watching!
most UK venues you can't have any kind of mist
Hmm- that's interesting. Some US venues as well but I think it just depends on the policy there. I know some club owners can be concerned with residue left by oil based hazers - but most smaller semi pro models (like my Chauvet Haze 2D) use water based fluid.
Thanks for watching!
Write the name of the laser model, please!
It's called a "Donner 4 Beam Laser"

how dangerous are these?
Common sense is key. For safety you can use sunglasses. To test if your glasses will help shoot the laser through the lens put a piece of paper behind the Lens. Does it block a good amount of the energy? You can buy specialized glasses but they are $200 - 300. Good luck.
