there are 3 packs on ebay for $19 with one of each color for the wing sung brand or the paili brand. I have not checked to see if they are anywhere else like that.

Actually, Paili is the real brand of this pen factory, they could name pen as wing sung, because they paid the money to Hero factory and the first number word begins with a "3" such as wing sung 3007, 3008, 3013. This pen factory make money via massive selling, just different marketing strategy.
I love my 456 fountain pens and fill like they are every bit worth the money. If I am choosing between the 268 and the 3013 I would go with the 3013. My 268 cracked and while the 3013 is not a perfect pen I feel like it is a better value for what you get.

Agree, a great pen, mine had a below-average nib. The construction quality is very good, better than I expected for the price. Just ordered PenBBS 494, a $4 piston pen. Looks like a 322 design with a piston.
I got mine in brown yesterday in a medium and it is a wet medium as advertised. How big of a deal is it that there is no shut off valve? Also is the opus 88 the cheapest option for an eyedropper with a shut off valve or just go with a penbbs 456 and call it good?

Here's an update to my previous comment. The pen posts nicely on the rear end of the pen. However, that is where the knob for operating the piston is located. The cap fits tightly so when I tried to remove the cap yesterday, I probably slightly twisted it to loosen it... resulting in ink spurting out all over the desk! You have been warned. That being said, this is my favorite Chinese demonstrator pen so far. I love the heft and the springy nib. It is extra fine - great for using on cheap paper! If you are into inks, however, this nib is too fine and dry to get writing that will show off the color and properties of specialty inks.
Warning: Please check your inked 3013 because I noticed mine rusts. The rod is made from regular steel and being always in touch with ink, it corrodes. Another user on reddit confirmed his pen also started to rust. We may need to warn people not to get these pens.

Mine arrived about a week ago and I really, _really_ enjoy it. Easily one of my most favourite pens. I like the heft, around 30g is my sweet spot. You're right about the metal insert in the section, it provides a nice balance for the heavy metal piston mechanism. Knowing Wing Sung, I would suggest getting water-resistant screws and replace the one in the cap or just cover it with clear nail varnish. Both my 3008 and 6359 have the same-looking screw and both got rusty. Also I noticed the inner working of my 3013 was very greasy but it caused the ink to blob in the barrel. So I'm going to clean it all out and apply less grease. The Bobby's EF nib is really nice and very fine. I was so impressed by the pen build quality I looked for one of the Paili blue F and found it from another seller for around $5US including shipping.
love Palil 013 to bits, heavy solid feel. yes its back heavy but not so as to be uncomfortable. would have bought all colours if they have more solid/dark colours.
Nice review Aaron. Wing Sung seem to have broken a price barrier for Vac Filler pens. I have received mine and may even order one or two more in different colours. I have never heard of the Paili brand and was wondering what is the connection? Is this pen a joint venture between Paili and Wing Sung to produce a low price Vac Filler? Or is Paili just a branch of the Wing Sung company?
I have not heard any specific information on the paili brand. Hopefully we will find out more about it overtime. Once I get my blue Paili I will try to do more research.

Nice flex modified nib. Great feed. I am tempted to try, but not ready to dive into that end of the pool. Enjoying paddling around in the shallow end.

Good review! I bought two and have had them about a week now. They both write really well, looks like you lost the nib lottery unfortunately.
I'm actually enjoying the extra fine nib I received. It is perfect for work to use in other types of paper.

Talking about hard starts: I do get some, but it might also be the super sheeny ink that I'm using. These dry out a lot quicker normally.

I have been waiting for something just like this, as I don't really like twsbis, especially for their price.
I enjoy mine quit a bit. The pen has its downsides overall, but for $10 I think it is a steal
