Fantastic pen. I got this thanks to you for Christmas. Mine came in the frosted plastic box. The pen feels and looks amazing. The line thickness is just right, not too thin (like the m2) and really looking forward to eye drop it soon.
Beautiful pen. The only thing I find a bit jarring is the coloured section. Had the entire pen been transparent, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. Although I feel I'm probably alone in this opinion. Thanks for the nice review, Aaron.

Great review. I am definitely in love with this pen. Didn't put grease silicone either! It works perfectly and the nib is a step up if you compare with other Moonmans (or Moonmen, LOL) that I have. My nib came aligned with the flat top, so no turning needed here. Nib is clearly on the M side, rather than on the F: it is wet and delivers more ink than a normal Chinese F nib.
The mini moonman are also pretty cool. You twist the lid on the end to make it longer and less awkward to use. And they are less expensive than the normal sized ones. The EF are even cheaper!
I got 2 of these because I haven’t owned or used an eye dropper pen before. I didn’t get any fancy packaging with mine , just a plastic packet with bubble wrap. Used some silicone grease . Nib and pen is very nice to write with.
The chinese make great pens and i think the Jinhao's are so freaking awesome for the 4 bucks and feel so premium. I got a M2 on the way and will try to hunt down a C2 in the future because i love clear pens :)

I just got mine in today and so far so good (Amazon Prime). Sadly mine is completely purple with no red at all, but oh well, it's still a great pen. I'm using Thorton's turquoise in it and it's doing just fine. The flat sides on the body and cap don't perfectly line up on mine, at least not without torquing it uncomfortably tight, but it's close enough.

Any idea what sized o ring should I get to replace it? Also, my converter looks like it's a bit crooked inside, but it's seated properly and writes properly :))
I have seen o ring kits at the hardware store for about 5 bucks before. You may also try and take the o ring with you and ask if someone can help you find one

Gorgeous minimalistic design! Seems to be of a good size too. I mean not too big. I love to carry arond a nice pen in my pocket. I wonder how it will look after years of wear and tear. I figure an attractive worn look. Scratched to the point of opacity in certain places. Stained from inks that are hard to clean off completely. I think I would still love her. Would You?

The only problem I have with moonman is their lack of contoured grip sections. A nice contoured grip would be the only thing keeping my s3 from being a really top favorite.
Honestly, I have not greased any of my Chinese eyedropper and have not had any burping issues. I know that everyone has their own way of doing it, but I will say that the moonman pens seal up really nice because of the design and the location of the o ring.
Pens which are designed for eye dropper do not need silicon grease. For size comparison I think you should always keep a lamy safari or the metropolitan... Helps to scale the pen in our mind. Not everyone has moonman pens.
I agree that is why I brought up about not using silicone grease on these pens. I do not silicone grease much Chinese eydroppers that have the o ring. There are some pens that benefit from silicone, but this is not one.
@@aaronspenvideos4420 the pens which have very fine threads do not require o rings. Pilot tank has a seal inside to prevent leaks. Including an o ring is very considerate of moonman. Having one never hurts. How does the c1 scale against a lamy Safari, I mean dimension wise?
@@wwbdwwbd well there are quite a lot of nib brands in India. Kanwrite, ambitious, wality, camlin. And their nibs are distinguishable from one another. Chinese manufacturers do not seem to use that type of nib. I am not sure but Indian fountain pen manufacturers did make their own nibs. And I think they still do.

It's a great pen! Shop around for it as I have seen it for sale in the low $20's on a few sellers.

You may have to try a couple of different o rings. I have not heard of anyone else having this issue.

It has not had any leaking problems. Any if the moonman pens that I have eyedropper have not had any leaking problems.

You will like the 456. Try to get one with a medium nib if you can, but either way the pen is excellent!

You should probably grease the threads, if only to prevent any burping issue that may arise from the minute air leakage caused by un-greased threads.

I usually dont with the moonman pens because they have the o ring and seal very nicely. Never had one leak.
Seriously, compare this to the Franklin Christoph model 66... it seems it compares very favorably.
I wish I had a Franklin christoph to compare, but unfortunately do not. Maybe chrisrap52 will be nice and for a comparison with his pens.

No burping issues whatsoever. I honestly have not had any burping issues with any of the Chinese pens that I have eyedropper.
My Pilot Non Self Filler has never burped.
