  • We carried out a full tank to full tank fuel consumption test on the Nissan Serena S-Hybrid to check out its typical fuel consumption.
    Traffic was heavy, but we plodded through and the video is sped up at some places to shorten the time, but there has been no edit or cut in the video.
    The conditions were as you can see in the video, and it is possible that different results may have come out if traffic conditions and or driving styles were different.
    Please enjoy the video, and cheers till the next video.

    the fuel consumption of this car is very impressive actually it's quite economical it's quite good

    There's a slight difference between actual and the meter reading. Actual was 11km/l, while the meter is showing 14.5km/l or 6.9l/100km. I've been driving serena for 8yrs and I truly satisfied with it's fuel consumption consistantly still maintaining FC > 12km/l.

      8 years old serena, i assume you are driving a non hybrid serena. The fc is somewhat similar to the hybrid version. Then what's the point of this hybrid?

      Hi mate, I bought a 2014 Serena which is also a S-hybrid version, but the fuel consumption is around 10L/100km. I reckon one of the battery is dead, I can start the car and the electrical sliding doors work normally. Which battery you think is dead?

    Thanks for your efforts. Just noticed there are so many Serena encountered throughout the journey. No.1 MPV in Malaysia for sure!
    I'm a owner of the latest 2022 Serena C27 and the previous gen C26; heavy footer, including high speeds, yield under 8km per litre. As far as I know, the S-Hybrid just replace the starter motor with a 50Nm torque unit and the additional torque is only applied for 1 sec from total stop. Too bad the air cond compressor is not electric and powered by the aux battery.

  • @honeydewdarren
    @honeydewdarren ปีที่แล้ว

    it can achieve very good fuel consumption if you are driving chill, light foot but it was boring....a Serena owner here tested....

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha, all cars driven for fuel economy test in this channel are driven in this way, as a consistent way of testing.
      Agreed, it is boring, but we just want to show what the vehicle is capable of. The option is open to you, and you can choose to gun it if you want.
      Note, though, that we werr actually overtaking some vehicles, and most vehicles were driving at similar speeds - this proves were were actually driving at the same speeds as others.

    Uncle I am quite curious about one thing, other than worse pickup, why people don't just modify their engine to accept NGV?
    Hybrid, EV all these, none are cheaper than NGV right?

    • @TsLeng
      @TsLeng ปีที่แล้ว

      Direct injection normally doesn't support it. Also need to install the tank and maintain it. Plus fill it up...

    • @CheahMichael
      @CheahMichael ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TsLeng
      but MPI car still support it right, and thers isn't a lot of DI cars nowadays also.
      Refilling the NGV is easier and faster than recharging EV; you can also rely on Petrol as alternative fuel should NGV runs out tho.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a huge NGV tank that needs space, a total lack of power, and long queues at the gas stations. Yes you can, but that is not un the scope of the video. We are doing a fuel consumption test, not showing how to get the best mileage.

  • @clementwg3477
    @clementwg3477 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you try to compare the fuel consumption of different petrol?

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      Too many options. Ee jusy used the recommended RON95, which is good enough. We only have RON95 and 97, and 97 is relatively expensive, so cost per kilometer with 97 is higher no matter what little extra you can get.

    • @clementwg3477
      @clementwg3477 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YSKhongDriving you recommended BHP petrol, but I'm not sure if you have tried others for this car or not. Personally I did so on my Serena and recorded all my fuel consumption history in a table. I find that Petronas provides better mileage and acceleration.

    20 years ago, my old mod Satria did 12km per liter of mixed driving pretty much the same as yours. I did full tank to full tank measurement also like you did. So, 11km per liter 20 years later of any vehicle is not impressive. Hybrid some more... Haha. But the the deal is already broken when a car look like you can modify it to be a hearse. Yeah, take off all the rear seats and can fit in a coffin.
