They were very happy that international fans made an effort to learn their songs, even though they are mostly in Japanese.
To return the favor, they wrote this song, and dedicated it to "THE ONE," their fandom.
Even though this version has a lot of English, this is also the one official music video with subtitles.
From what they said after the performance, the hardest part wasn't the height, it was to stick to the choreography instead of waving to the people in the crowd below. : )
Those two nights at Yokohama Arena in December 2015 were the final dates of the 2015 BABYMETAL World Tour.
The video has the audio from the domestic (Japanese) release of the Metal Resistance album.
The international release of the album has an entirely English version.
Usually this song is performed entirely in English, even when it's performed in Japan.
Recently they have been starting off with the softer "Unfinished version" before going into the version with guitars and drums.
Babymetal's fans are called "The One". This song was written and dedicated to their loyal fans. Great reaction as always. Thanks.
Good reaction. This is one of the very few official videos that has subtitles, so you would have seen the English translation if you'd turned them on.
As BABYMETAL were touring the world they realised their fans (yes, they call them The One) had been learning Japanese to sing along with them. They challenged themselves to learn a song completely in English in return as a sign of their respect and love for the fans - this is that song. So yes this song is dedicated to the fans and is effectively BABYMETAL's love letter to them.
This video has the half and half English-Japanese version that was on the Japanese edition of the album. The international edition got the full English version which is also the version they play live most times.
This song began life as part of another song, they were separated to become two songs quite early in the writing process, but they do share some themes. The other song is called 'Tales of the Destinies' and it is full on prog metal if you really want to hear a song that goes wild and is "all over the place".
'Tales of the Destinies' has been played live only once to date - at the Tokyo Dome where it was followed by a beautiful piano bridge leading into an extended version of 'The One' for the finale of the first night.
Keep an eye on the Babymetal Reactor Resource II channel, I'm sure the video for that (which you will be able to use for a reaction) will be uploaded there before very long (his original channel where it was previously had copyright claims against it, so he is moving the videos across to the new channel).

Some people said this song was a little bit too repetitive. But in their live performance you feel as if the length of this song were only 30 seconds and want to listen to it forever. Now in 2021, BABYMETAL performed this song each and every show in 10 BABYMETAL Budokan concerts which completed on April 15. Whenever they performed this song, we saw celestial and beautiful performance and heard angelic voices. I am sure you can see it in the online program.
I just watched the online 10 Babymetal years concert. I didn't want it to end. Blue-ray in September. Is it gonna have all the songs they did? Momoko did a great job, even singing with no mic. She gets into it. Moa being Moa the whole show and Su her greatness cannot be over stated. When Su gives that happy smile, you just know things are going just as planned. They did seem to tone down her glare's almost like they didn't want to show them. Worried a fan or two might faint.

"The ONE" refers not only to their fans but also to the girls, the kamis, the avengers and all the people in the background who support them (team BABYMETAL)... all together as one.
And yep, this is a kind of progressive metal ballad. They like to mix all genres, you should already know :)

Yes! Just like, I believe, the chant of "We are.... Babymetal" at the end of the concerts is about the importance of the fans and crowd interaction as a part of Babymetal, (We are all Babymetal), we are also all together 'The One'.
This was at Yokohama 2015. Cool concert. Those huge fox statues that breathe smoke also had lasers coming out of their eyes in some songs. To me this is the companion concert with Metrock 2015. Metrock is an amazing daytime outdoor concert. So this is the other side. But both awesome.

When I listen to Babymetal I like to hear the crazy fast paced stuff too but I also want to hear Su's voice. As with any band, I want to hear some diversity. As much as I like the hard driving stuff, it gets boring listening to the same thing over and over. That's one of the million things I love about Babymetal. They are newer going to bore you with the same music over and over. Of course that's all just my opinion. I'm not trying to discredit others who feel differently. 🙂

That the fanbase is called The One is only 90% correct, as the term actually includes both the fans and the band members as a collective unity. You have already heard the story about the motivation for the English lyrics. Knowing that makes watching this video even more emotional to me. When the girls are hovering above the fans it‘s like you can feel the love in the room. It really touches me every time.
You also need to add to the fact that Moa is afraid of heights. If you notice for a while she didn't smile for most of the song because she was so scared. You'll also notice not once did she looked down. The whole song she is just looking straight ahead. Yet even with her fear, she still got on that platform to show her respect and love to the fanbase.
This is a very special song for the fans and babymetal, it is like an anthem. There are more slow babymetal songs, ofcourse if you will go to their concerts it's not very high energy from beginning to the end, they always play a slow one and their slow songs are so good too💙

Great reaction although the song you should have done first was tales of the destinies as originally the 2 songs originally was written as one song but decided to split in 2. Tales of the destinies has insane instrumentals and it is all over the place..it’s my favourite anyway
Yes it's a sort of love letter to the fans . They noticed that there foreign fans where learning Japanese to sing along with them . So as a thank you the One was wrote and there is a version all in English . Everyone connected to BabyMetal the girls the Kami bands ( eastern and western) the people involved in helping make these shows possible not least the Fans we are The One . There are slow songs in the BabyMetal catalogue.
Try" No Rain No Rainbow " the version from Legend S . Its a Su solo

i think you don't understand this song as tribute to all BabyMetal fans out there, and that's the reason is more slower and like a ballad progressive-metal song to give that mood of melancholic warm to your heart, i mean i love fast rhythm BM songs but i love the j-rock ballads too.
