Okay, I haven't played that tactics yet, but i suppose it works all in all. But I think it won't work with every team, because every team has different players and some sort of players are more, others less easy to motivate et cetera. I guess much off the success of the commentors below either comes simply from hard workout (...?) But I'll try it on my own as soon as i can effort some new Left/Right Midfielders. ^^
+Pete Swafflemeyer yes it's a good tactic but the final result depents. If you have 3 or 4 stars players and your opponent has 5 or more stars players it's more difficult to win the game. For these situations I prefer a more defensive formation.

At the first game i win them 2-1 in my stadium with the old system..i lost in teams with 13-15..and i win them...
hello I have final champions with strong team , his formation 4-3N-1-2 . and I failed previously to win over him in cup I was use 4-4-2 , and 4-1-2-2-1V stayl . your formation can defet him? and he has fans in his muches ?
but i wouldn't make em too low. just find out on which level the arena starts getting full. and remember that your number of supporters increases successively. I usually increase my ticket prices from one season to another and i got a full stadium all the time.

I play 4-1-2-3 in hard games.but in easy games I use different tactics and give other players to play (not all of them)
It also works with 3 star players. I defeated one of 85% and I was 66% in level 2
