- Cysts in ovary are very common. In this video, we are discussing the symptoms of ovarian cysts, which is very important because these often grow silently in the abdomen, and are incidentally diagnosed during gynae checkup. Very often, ladies keep taking medicines for gas or acidity or bloating, and by the time they reach a doctor, its quite advanced disease. This video is meant to help you in early diagnosis and timely treatment.
They can be simple cysts, which are also called functional or hormonal cysts. These are a sequelae of egg formation and release every month. These usually do not need any medicines, but may need to be treated with hormones at times.
Other cysts may be dermoid cyst, endometriomas, tumours like serous or mucinous cystadenomas and cancers. PCO, or polycystic ovaries have numerous cysts in ovaries, which are developing follicles.
