Just re-introduced my brother to Tekken over Christmas, we started with Tekken 3 when we were wee lads. We made sure his daughter was around because she was about the same age when we started, and of course she asked to play and proceeded to win matches against two very out of practice millennials. Made me very happy

Tekken is more successful/popular than street fighter. Mortal kombat is the biggest fighting game franchise overall, but the big 3 are mortal kombat, Tekken, and street fighter. The remaining fighting franchises haven’t sold anywhere near those titles. I just wanted to clarify for you, because you initially opened the video talking about MK and SF as if they’re on a different level from Tekken. And that simply is not the case. Tekken is considered one of the “big 3”.

To be fair Tekken 7 sold a shit ton of copies I think because they put Akuma in there which brought in a whole new fanbase. Adding Geese also pulled in some KOF players. I know it made it easier for me to enjoy the franchise more as a SF player when Tekken’s move sets was always a challenge for me to get the hang of. I wish there’d been another guest character on day 1 from another franchise here.

I am LOVING Tekken 8. It is so refreshing! It is challenging. Especially considering I haven’t played it in over 10+ years. But practicing truly pays off. The practice mode is the best I’ve seen in any fighting game by far. I am also in love with the soundtrack. The move list in this game is ridiculously good! The controls are also so responsive and tight! The graphics are AMAZING! The stages are memorable. So much to be said about this amazing game. Recommend👍
I think Street Fighter 6 is overrated also, whereas Tekken 7 was such a great game, I clocked 450 hours in it. Tekken 8 feels like an improvement on T7

@AleksandarBloom Too be fair, tag games are disappointing which is why I think MK1 is getting a lot of flack as well. It's very hard to balance 1v1 with that many characters let alone adding in a tag with extra characters makes balancing all the more daunting....
Played like 10 hours of Tekken 8 so far in SP mode(s) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tekken was never really in bad form but this entry is a huge high-point in the franchise. A complete triumph. Also, I love how all the pillars of the fighting game genre are going strong these days. Can't really go wrong with any of those (although Tekken has reclaimed the throne for me personally).

Better than sf6. No greedy dlcs no mtx sf6 sells you colors 15 dollar costumes and even classic songs are locked behind money. Tekken has free jukebox gives you access to all music game has customization and all costumes unlockable no need to buy any dlc etc

I'm sorry, MK1/SF6 fans, but Tekken 8 fucked everyone and Harada surpassed himself! - Excellent "completion" of the Gin arch, in places even to goosebumps and tears ... - Cutscenes at the movie level, it is clear that the budget has been invested, and the battle on the meteorite is like watching an epic anime finale - New characters for the roster, they are unlikely to be played, but I liked Reina (I did not expect a twist with her) and Leo - The graphics and special effects are crazy, especially at the moment of the fight between Jin and Kazuya against the background of a storm, but just how raindrops fall on the bodies of the fighters can already be appreciated - The soundtrack itself is as always on top - The combat system has become even more convenient I don't know how it will be with the network code and online, but I just wish good luck to Namko and Harada with this masterpiece...(for me, the 5th part will always remain my favorite)
