- Newcastle Castle is a medieval fortification in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Built on the site of the fortress that gave the City of Newcastle its name.
The most prominent remaining structures on the site are the Castle Keep and the Black Gate, its fortified gatehouse.
Newcastle Cathedral,.formally the Cathedral Church of St Nicholas.
Spire height - 194 feet.

A beautiful castle and cathedrale, Newcastle looks very beautiful. Drove by it a few times when on vacation to Scotland, you make me feel sorry I didn't visit it then. ❤🤗❤

Amazing views of the area, really enjoyed it, thanks. I remember as kids we often went on top of the turrets on the Keep watching the trains below, then it was the worlds biggest railway crossing. Then a few years later, in the Bridge, the pub just outside the Keep doors.

Can do specific tours of this area including the castle, it’s currently open 7 days a week. Maybe best to go by train if possible as it’s only a 5 minute walk from the Central station. Great views Yvonne you must have found a parking space on the Quayside 😁👍🏻🤗

Literally nothing stood in the way of Victorian Railway builders. Can you imagine railway builders these days putting forward plans to put a line through Bamburgh Castle for example 😂 nice flight. I like a bit of urban flying. 👍🏻
