Can i use both ? I have a ton of philips hue and now i got my govee t2 and waiting for lyra floor lamps only thing i need for hue is sync box and the price dont bother me will this work ? Dont gonna use hue behinde the tv just other places in the room i dont see any videos on this
The one thing I was looking for was missing. I wanted a side-by-side comparison of each color to compare the quality of the light output. I found less expensive LEDs have very poor color quality. Not as deep and rich.. Do the govee compete with the rich colors of Phillips?
Such a helpful review! Thanks so much! When having multiple lyras can you adjust the colours of all of them at once or do you have to do it one by one? (I.e. creating a mood group)
Hi, this video is very useful for my purchasing decision. Is the Govee light able to preset the days and time to turn on via the mobile app or via a linked Govee sensor?
I’ve been wanting to get a bunch of light bulbs to change colors and dimming in app and I’m choosing between Hue and Govee… Govee is significantly cheaper as I can buy a 4 pack of light bulbs for 40-50$ and just plug to use straight with my Wifi. With Hue I have to buy a starter pack for anywhere between 150-180$ and then I only get 2-3 light bulbs plus a bridge with will take unnecessary space where my router is. Why can’t Philips just connect directly to Wifi instead of needing a bridge. This is why I’m leaning towards Goove; easier to setup with plug and use and it’s also way cheaper plus it doesn’t need a bridge. Only reason I’d go for Hue is because of a reputable brand (Philips) and possibly more longevity? I’ve heard good things about Govee so I’m sure they have good longevity as well. So yeah I’m a little torn which to go for but I’m leaning towards Govee
I still like Philips hue better but I haven’t spent much time trying to learn Govee. I just bought some of the tv bars to use on my shelf and they look cool but have a few features that are more annoying than Philips. Light quality is really good though.
Also on the bridge front… the bridge just gives a much more robust control system that won’t clog up your WiFi network. The bridge uses zigbee to communicate with the bulbs and plugs.
@@adamtalkstech oh ok thanks, I thought the bridge used the wifi too since it’s connected to the router. Might consider paying more for Hue then… I have 600mbits+ internet so shouldn’t be an issue anyways but still might be worth paying more for the Philips then. Another option is Ikea’s ”trådlös” bulbs they also have a hub can connect to called Dirigera. Do you have any info or experience with it? Does it connect to Zigbee or wifi and do you think it’s a good option? I’m Swedish so Ikea would be a logical choice
Direct connection to wifi is an advantage. Wifi and the bridge both broadcast 2.4 ghz frequences. All the bridge does is add another source that broadcasts 2.4 ghz frequency in your house (which your access point router already does) that can cause issues such as interference. Your basically just adding another access point router in your house.
When you start adding a ton of lights it can really congest your Wi-Fi if direct connect. Hue is just one hub hardwired and only takes 1 IP address. Not a big deal until you start going all out. I had 49 hue lights in my house and 13 cync lights. Every single GE bulb showed on my Wi-Fi.
Hue because the Govee you can’t have two working with speakers & video like Hue you can’t add 10 or more lights that work together not Govee but the price will be a lot for this
They are overpriced for a reason, the support, the quality and trustable brand etc. Apple hardware is overpriced but you pay for the reliability, experience and ecosystem
No... I use Hue trough my whole house.. The app, the support and the build quality is great. Everytime when I buy a cheaper type of lamp or light model it's not that good.. It's ok for the money but the light is just different. Most of it is only RGB. When in the lowest dim setting it's not as low as the Hue everytime..
Yeah, at that price they’re quite literally making money hand over fist. Their lamp probably cost about $8-$10 in material and labor, and they’re selling them for $350, which is patently absurd.
@WilliamDarko when you can tell which one he'll prefer in the first minute you know he's a fan boy. That's okay but he is bias towards Hue. Maybe you need to watch it. I have both brands and like them both. Lololololol
Nice video - very clear and no marketing blah blah - keep these videos coming!
Thanks! For me it's all about features, pros, cons, and price!
Gread vid, saved me spending hours on reading about the differences. Juicy content, cheers.
Glad it helped!

Thanks! Just the kind of video I needed while weighing up which one to buy.
Glad I could help!

I know exactly what you mean. Govee is 8/10 on quality, hue is 10/10. other brand i've used are like 3 or 4/10 on quality.
This is so helpful thank you!!
Odd question, but what are your speaker stands? They look nice.
Thanks a lot for no nonsense comparison! Great and useful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect. There's a 20 dollar coupon now. I decided on the newer version for 120 rather than the previous at 70 since it's stronger lighting.
Just got the Floor Lamp 2 and Floor lamp Pro in and they are awesome.
hello, have you used the wake up function in both of them? is there any difference on this feature between them? thanks!
I have not used it on this light but I used it on Hue Bulbs years ago and it worked well.
Very helpful review. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Such a helpful review! Thanks so much!

(I.e. creating a mood group)
Yup, you can create groups in the govee app

Yes under home and then automation you can set schedule
Best comparison video of this kind 👍
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! Any other Hue or Govee lights I should check out?
Thanks mate, good video!
i use hue for movies / shows and my govee for entertainment sometimes both
Very helpful video. Make more!
What lights would you like me to review?

Direct connection to wifi is not an advantage. Having hub and working on its own technology is huge plus
I agree, but there's definitely a lot of people who don't want to have, buy, or deal with a hub.

In order to have the hub working you need WiFi
@@mikerivz u dont, u plug in an ethernet cable

Is it just me or is the govee not standing straight?
Yes. Blame the carpet. I have a hard time getting anything to stand straight
Great video!
Thanks!

if govee compitable with sync box, I will go with lyra
It is not.
already have the sync box so i have no choice 😅
Sorry for your wallet :'(
Hue products are the highest quality. The problem is they know that. 😅
So true!!!
I’ll take the microscopic seams at 1/8th of the price.
Very fair.
Phillips is a rip off. They are so overpriced
Definitely expensive, but they’re nice

Someone is mad they cant afford it😂
I'm not buying GoVee anymore. They break down so easily.😮
Hue is way overpriced IMO
Absolutely. They are super reliable and high quality though.

@@ChrisDavis333and then u still need the bridge etc to connect it
Yup. Not cheap.
The Lyra is nasty junk.
I have never seen someone be so biased 😂
I guess you haven't looked very hard then.
You can tell your a fan boy of Hue, thats okay but its obvious.
Yup!! I have been a fanboy of hue for 6 or 7 years now.
lol maybe you have to watch the video before commenting

i just say that hue is better but overpriced and advice not to buy it@@michaelhenderson5490
Hue is better and undeniable. Just priced too high
