I really like this episode exclusively because of Dr. Wong. She is genuinely one of the only people in the series to honestly and brutally call Rick out on his shit AND get away with it.
And Rick actually kinda sorta listens to her and takes what she says to heart. I think she actually earns a little of his respect, which is unheard of with Rick.
she's the worst part of the episode because she's a self-insert of the writer who just wanted to masturbate herself about how much better she is than a fictional character she got a chance to write for it's sleazy, easy, and shitty. it doesn't matter how fun the rest of the episode is, i'll never forgive any self-insert that is egocentric and proud. if you get the chance to write yourself into a show, be humble, be comic relief, don't be such a gigantic asshole.
NOOOOO BRO! You skipped the speech Wong gave. That was like one of the best monologues/speeches in the show. It really highlights how flawed Rick is in his superior thinking and is something that can be applied to everyone. I'm really surprised you skipped it, tbh. But hey, this was a solid reaction though dude. I can't stress that enough. That one part where you paused taking a sip of your drink after the teacher asked if they ate poop too was damn priceless. I was rolling over that, lmao. Keep it up dude, I'm loving these Rick and Morty reactions. Also, I think it’s worth noting that Rick is ABSOLUTELY selfish, no question about that. He may lack meaningful attachments because infinite universes with infinite people diminishes their staying power or significance, but how he goes about that realization in his interactions is almost entirely selfish and sociopathic, including his own family. I think it's safe to say that his experiences with the chaotic, nihilistic nature of the multiverse, in which nothing has any real or moral consequence for him, has shaped his narcissistic, nihilistic, and sociopathic worldview.

Fuck "doctor" Wong, the writer was just inserting herself into the show to demonstrate why "rick bad" in a monologue , when we already know who, what, why, where, and when rick is a bad person. But she wanted center stage for her "i'm much smarter than you" speech, fuck that. It's lousy, tired, lazy writing, and Harmon is such a fucking cuckold he let it happen.
There's a PS1 game that lets you play as an Armed Cybernetic Spider with the mind of a human scientist linked to it, the entire thing is just like this and you kill these Cyborg Rats as well as other critters cybernetically enhanced like yourself called Spider The Video Game on PS1, I played it on a PS1 Emulator and I'm better than I was so many years ago and on the phone, it's really fun acquiring various Mini Weapon/Spider Legs and going around killing small armed creatures and exploring as the Spider in places.
Dr. Wong asks all these questions about Rick because obviously the family dynamic is revolving around Rick and nobody else. She straight up hits the point there. That's something you see a lot in therapy. Psychologists have a thought behind most of their questions, even if you don't know that reason. Trust the professionals they learned their profession, don't think you understand more about it than them.
