I never thought I'd be having a robot work on me either, but it poked all those holes in me and then the physician was able to sit and do work on an extremely small area very very accurately. It is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the comment and to be honest, that's what I told the anesthesiologist when they were putting me under just make sure I wake up. But everything's going good and I'm going crazy being bored some such thing about don't do too much or you'll rip something up. So I'm waiting
I'm feeling pretty good but they warned me that my energy levels would be low, one minute boy I'm doing good next minute running out of juice. But it's getting better day by day much faster than having had conventional open surgery and not robotic. My belly button scar irritates me enough, i can't imagine having a large scar across my entire abdomen.
So glad to hear that you are recovering well. You will be back to your adventuring in no time. Don't be lifting stuff!!! It's so easy to forget for a minute isn't it?
Hey thank you for the comment my dear, and if you ask my son who you know well, he will tell you I would never do something stupid like pick something up that I shouldn't lol
I'm sorry to hear about this my friend, but you made it through and will go on. Glory to GOD! I went and bought a tent stove but still trying to decide on which tent that i want. Get your rest and take care of yourself brother
Thank you for the comment and now I'm jealous you got a new tent stove! I'm lucky everything went well and I'm healing up had a little setback but I'm getting there. Can't wait to see you use that tent stove
@@MichiganHiker no need to be jealous, you can come along as I fish the Manistee and camp. I'm not a guide because I don't care to be one, but I'll definitely put you on fish! Tenting in the fall is easy, but the spring has it's issues. And at $150.00 plus a night now I'm all about living comfortable in a tent in the cold. I'm not like many , I love the getting rustic and away from the mess!
Thanks for sharing ur story-. Waiting for same surgery, depending on 2nd opinion- urothelial carcinoma of renal pelvis-Difficult changing roles from being a medical professional to being a patient. Great insightful information.
Thank you and good luck to you. I do hope that all comes out well for you and that the information I gave helps people, that is all that matters to me.
wow thank you for sharing your story. My husband has to have this done this coming week for the exact reason that you had. I am so scared I have some questions and I dont think the doctor is very responsive to me at all. Maybe it's just me, and I don't want to try to find another doctor because my husband is in to much pain for me to go looking. I did not see your email to be able to email you. At least now I know what he will be going thru listing to your experience. All the best to you and good health to you as well.
Forgive the delay in replying, I have been away from things for a bit. I hope your husband came through everything OK. Please feel free to email me at michtrails@gmail.com Through all of this, I know my wife was going though a lot, it is hard on not only the person receiving treatment, but also on those who love them. All the best to your husband and you, and I hope 2024 will be a year of healing for all of us.
Thank you for video! Great sharing! My mom (73 yr) had the surgery with removing right kidney and ureter 3 weeks ago in Shanghai China. There is one surgical cut incision (about 20cm) and 6 holes in her bell. Now she is under recovering at home. Do you have any other medical therapy or treatment after this surgy?
I do hope your mother is well. I was lucky and needed no further treatment for the cancer, I hope this is the case with her. I had surgery to repair an incisional ventral hernia (just under my ribs where one of the robotic ports was for my first surgery) and this has been a bit of a time, but recovering. Again, I hope all is well with your mother.
I just wondered if in the first couple of weeks you would tire very easily? My husband had a mass in his right kidney which was removed by robotic surgery. Did is also effect your appetite that first week. Glad you are doing so well
Sorry for the delay in responding, my wife and I were camping in an area with no cell service. Regarding being tired after the surgery, when I read your comment to my wife she said oh yes absolutely. Yes I was very tired. I was told that after 6 weeks I would be back to normal and I was counting those weeks. I would feel very good and then just get tired, and honestly I'm still experiencing that a bit. The end of the day I'm just a beat. And yes my appetite was definitely affected for a while. I hope this helps and I wish your husband the best. Keep me posted on how he's doing, my email is listed at the end of the video if you'd like to contact me that way
@@MichiganHiker Oh thank you that easies my mind some. How did your wife cope with what was happening??? I will contact you via email. My husband is 67 so things will take longer, however is in good shape for 67
glad you're in one piece. i used to read about robotic surgeries in sci-fi stories.... and here we are!

Good to see you still with us.
