Armenians are more focused on their family than themselves. knowing my friend for over 20 years who exhibits this exact trait, I have been trying so hard to get her to act selfish
This quality is a trademark for lots of Native American tribes too. They are very family oriented and put the needs of the tribe before their own personal needs. They just aren't as warm to outsiders like Armenians but they have a pretty good reason for being skeptical of people outside the tribe.
When facts and logic are insufficient, wives never fail to win by emotion. I can't recall mine ever yielding gracefully to facts and logic. From time to time I would present the stronger argument, but then suddenly I was selfish, lazy, and short-sighted and most certainly in the doghouse.

I was fortunate that the Johns Hopkins University had in place agreements with all of the community colleges in the Maryland area. As long as the CCs maintained the proper standards, JHU would accept those course credits. In fact, universities in general, and JHU in particular, can accept up to sixty credits, or two years of undergraduate education, and still willingly put Their name atop your degree (so as long as half of your credits are from that particular four-year institution, they will take credit [or, maybe, responsibility for..?] for the state of an alumn's education). And, again, I was fortunate in that JHU did me a solid, and they actually accepted sixty-three credits from my local CC. So, technically, I did more than half of my studies elsewhere, but still ended up with an undergrad degree from a pretty good school. So: Thank you, Johns Hopkins University! Go Bluejays!! Also, to the best of my knowledge, this program is still in effect for the CCs in Maryland. So, if anyone is reading this and considering a degree in healthcare, or in teaching, or in any number of the applied physical sciences, then this might be of some help to you. At least I hope it's helpful. 🙂

I relate to the stick up Brett's ass. I'm 24, almost 25, and have never done the prom or feel the need to drink obsessively. I never connected with my generation's need to sneak a bottle or blunt, or do some corny ass get-together at school. I can find fun in the real, physical world and not procure a substance to alter it, and I'd prefer one-on-one time with my girl in any scenario vs sharing her time and attention.
I just turned 23 recently. I've never been to any school dances, including prom, and I've never had alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, weed, or any other recreational and/or mind-altering substances in my life. Everyone thinks I'm boring, but I just don't feel the need to abuse a substance, or even use one in general, in order to have fun. I don't exactly consider myself straight-edge, but a lot of times I just say I am, so I don't have to sit and explain why I don't drink or smoke lol.

I relate to the stick up Brett's ass. I'm 24, almost 25, and have never done the prom or feel the need to drink obsessively. I never connected with my generation's need to sneak a bottle or blunt, or do some corny ass get-together at school. I can find fun in the real, physical world and not procure a substance to alter it, and I'd prefer one-on-one time with my girl in any scenario vs sharing her time and attention.
I just turned 23 recently. I've never been to any school dances, including prom, and I've never had alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, weed, or any other recreational and/or mind-altering substances in my life. Everyone thinks I'm boring, but I just don't feel the need to abuse a substance, or even use one in general, in order to have fun. I don't exactly consider myself straight-edge, but a lot of times I just say I am, so I don't have to sit and explain why I don't drink or smoke lol.
