These cars are all great and each have their pros and cons and are in different hp classes as well but when it comes to the track none of that really matters best motoring throws all of em in there, thats what i love about it
damm 5 grand for that civic's set up is pretty damm good when it comes to putting down track numbers.
5 grand back then is more now. Maybe 60% more. But putting 8k in a civic now a days you still get a great car.

when it comes to car diversity on track i disagree. Euro track enthusiast will race literally everything.
As much as I hate to admit those EG6's were unstoppable. Same with the EK9's
Tsukuba is a great track for battles of low powered vs high powered cars. The infield section evens out the different classes and only the very best handling cars can pull away. While the back straight and front straight let the bigger, more powerful cars to have the advantage.
Pretty much every battle on this track between different classes is fairly even.
Katana2097 yea true on bigger tracks such as Fuji and Suzuka the more powerful cars would have a huge advantage on those long straights

Dori Dori's Civic had like $15,000 dollars of mods done to it. Clearly the superior track car. But, the other Civic only had $4,000 worth done to it and was on par with the R33. That's crazy.

i think can talk since ive owned a eg civic with a b18 type r engine stripped out with a half cage and i currently drive a nissan skyline r 33gtr series 3 which is bone stock atm. the civic is a great car to track with if you dont have lots of cash and it can beat some cars that cost alot more but in all honesty id pick the gtr 33 for a lot of reasons its looks for one its insane ability to accelerate out of corners is mind blowing you people who have driven a gtr will understand not putting honda down great little cars with potential and proven if modified it can beat standard hi priced sports cars.

I'm a diehard Honda head but I grew up loving the RX7 Supra and would love to own an R32/3/4 Skyline but I believe the point is that a well-sorted Honda can be a nuisance to these "factory race cars". Just about any car can be made fast in a straight line (there are some fast Saturn's out there. Ugh think I threw up a little!) But some suspension geometry failures and chassis design flaws cannot be simply upgraded with a bolt-on lol. Sure if you wanna cut and weld a car bit by bit that's different but it won't be a Saturn any more. Even DoriDori prefers FR setups but when he gets a properly sorted FF Honda he's excited! For myself a guy who loves and CHOSE to build Hondas this is inspiration not a "see? my Civic can decimate anything with only I/H/E!!!"

They cost more, because you get more car. You can drive down to a track and cruise home on the highway in comfort. The Civic is purely built for the track.
So what? I could do that in my girlfriend's Nissan Sentra if I wanted. If I've got $20k in my pocket and blow it all on a comfort car then that's just choice. If I want a competitive track car, I can spend half that on a "track prepped" Civic. If you put another $20k for tuning into a Supra, you're going to lose comfort anyways.

That civic is as easy to drive as all those cars in that race, far from built solely for the track, it's not fully modified in any way or form, it says it maxed tune to n1 style, that's barely the entry level after normal (stock). It's a 1.8l with i/h/e + tune vs turbocharged cars. Stop hating fan boy and just appreciate the cars and the race.

Civic were mainly build for fast curve....and also Honda pretty much focusing on the second aspect on that car due to its lack of performance..and that is weight reduction....but in the end... it's not just about the car... it's the driver who can handle it...

@@marcuswynn89 actually its gonna need fair bit more than sticky tires and a tune, having raced a fair few skylines of all kinds, they also need a solid strip and diet, good suspension upgrade and aftermarket oil and water colling radiators as well. so effectively a more expensive amount spend to catch that civic.

An issue with several of the hobbies I'm into (cars, audio, fountain pens, etc) is that many people believe expensive=better, however, the truth is, that logic never works in the real world. For example in audio, you may think the best headphones cost$5,000 or more, some even think the best cost $50,000 or more. However the truth is.... a pair of $50 IEMS, has better objective sound quality than things that cost over $500 and even $1000. There is a level where the amount of performance/cost is drastically reduced and people don't understand that. Which is why a honda civic runs laps around 70's and early 80's ferraris, as well as gtr's, rx-7's and supras.
Lets not forget some of our favorite JDM cars like the supra and rx7 handle great but objectively suck on track compared to other options like the gtr and civic, even then we see a modified civic whipes the floor with a gtr.
Let's be real, if the civic had a small turbo, it wouldn't even be a competition
