It isn't always about speed and power but more into the drivability, cornering ability, reliability and having fun with it. I'm not here to compete or anything, I just genuinely love the car tho it's just a Civic. If I'll get to own an EK9 someday, I'mma straight up to convert it with full spoon kit without turning it into a fully-pledge race car coz I want to use it as a daily!!!

that's because its an JDM spec EK9 (the JDM version is quite different from euro and american spec). and obviously SPOON has developed it's own parts on this specific car, like the grill bumpers and bonnet, trust me :)

an na/ff car beating some "better cars" is a testimony to the builders of that civic. power isn't everything, getting it to the ground is far more important than making tons of power....plus, it's a Honda. vtec is one of the best innovations in the car world in recent years

90’s era Honda, sports cars in general were something else always have a place in my heart they just feel so more Raw more connected to the driver. The newer cars today seems to have eliminated that feeling.
+miroshi they all have different ratios. a "cross mission" is a transmission with gears spaced so that when you shift it puts you back into the meat of the power band. a typical gear change drops about 1.2-1.4k rpm, a cross mission drops half of that.
Was this just a standard sized 1600cc b16B in the ek9 type R that won the race or is it the 1800cc or 2000cc spoon built version of this motor cause that Civic was awefully fast for a 1600cc car man damn
The EK Civic has a 2.0 L engine and it was basically converted from 1.6 L to a higher displacement (Idk if they bored up the engine or they stroked it up) and it's still an NA. Idk if they've installed an aggressive camshafts on it or something but yeah still, it's most likely upgraded the vehicle with a huge weight reduction and better intake and exhaust system and some proper tuned suspension that is specifically for tracks. Main key points here is power to weight ratio!!
@@UguisuAnko12 I’d say it’d have to be both stroked and bored, no way its got the cylinder wall for an extra 0.1 litres per cylinder and it wouldnt be revving as it is with that long of a stroke

4age blactop in that AE111 is already highly modified from factory. It basically comes with ITB on stock motor. not a very strong engine compared to 3SGE
Love the ek9 but it deft needs new motor mounts those stocks are nasty an weak same things they put in the d16 ones an I snapped the driver side mount with a stock motor lol
True 😂😂 The Skyline has a weight disadvantage so even if they put a tons of power on it, it wouldn't matter unlike these light vehicles like the EK Civic Spoon (which is my dream car) and the rest, they have a huge advantage when it comes to cornering speed due to its lightweight characteristics and it doesn't even need much power to move em, just give it a nice weight reduction, proper intake and exhaust system, proper suspension setup, proper brakes setup and grippy tires and you're all good to go!! No need for an expensive budget on it, just the basic ones!!!
I mean yeah sure the skyline is fast on straightaways and high speed corners because of the power and the attesa AWD system, but when it comes to sharp corners like Tsukuba or touge passes, lightweight cars is your trump card and I'm a big fan of them 100%

They likely would just change the oil really frequently. Filters can choke an engine pretty badly.
