15 Trains at Jack London Square Including the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Train and 2 S&HC's From 184

I headed out to Jack London Square with Josh (fixierider97), Aaron (aero203), AJ (amcalaj), Jose (amtrak6901), and Satchel (caltrainfan) to see the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Train at Oakland with AMTK 822 and 406. We also wanted to get 184 meeting this train, which it did.

I am in Bakersfield now to see the Exhibit train, I saw it coming in on the 716 train and loved it!

It's the moving of equipment not carrying passengers. I'm more versed with the commuter trains I work on in Seattle, but an example is a Capital Corridor train might deadhead from the coach yard in Oakland to San Jose to begin it's scheduled service.
Where I work, mudslides will ban passenger carrying trains. If a slide happens midday while the train's are laying over in Seattle, we deadhead the equipment back north so it's in position to resume the AM commute when the ban is lifted.

Because that train goes to the Oakland Coliseum stop, but nothing goes back out of there for awhile so it deadheads back to the yard
