The accident.. that had negative impact on him physically.. never able to fully recover his peak form.. will miss his style of play.. one of the goats for sure 😢
You mean where he accidentally illegally gambled? I say good riddance to this embarrassment.
@@cw9282 I belive the commentor was refering to the car accident not gambling scandal...
@@cw9282momota had a car accident due to which he even lost his vision.. shut up if you don't know what you're talking about
What a sad day for the game. Surely one the best this past decade. Good luck momota san.
Much love kento!❤
Unfortunate that Kento could never fulfill his true potential but at least he had a few good years. Good luck in all you future endeavors and I wish you all the best. Farewell momota!!! 🎉🎉🎉🫡🫡🫡
so sad - was hoping for the fairy-tale comeback, but it never happened. all the best to you Momota san in all your future endeavours.
Will miss you in court ❣️
We will miss you kento.
.
Will miss you ❤ 😢
Happy Retirement
You have done so much GOAT
I’m feeling sad now
this is so sad. He is the best and very down to earth.
Got nothing but love for you kento❤. Love from 🇮🇳
He should sue Malaysia Badminton authorities for ruining his career, as he never recovered from the fatal car accident which killed his driver and the injuries sustained from that accident. he was never the same player after the accident and always struggled to beat players who had never beaten him before and is a shame that his Olympic Game also ended in defeat early in early rounds. Sad to see him retire early but what can he do with early exits in major tournaments 😢
We'll all miss him 😭🙏
One of the best shuttler Japan ever produced
We will miss you.
Hope he will learn to be a coach, he's such a inspiration. Good luck K.Momota my idol 💓
so sad . I always thought he might one day be among the top 10 again.
Now I cant believe it 😱😱😱😱😱😱
Missing you always 😢
Love your spirit ❤
Momota was untouchable in 2018 and 2019
Waaaaaa i miss you so much
Ohhmyy...really a heart breaker..wanted to see him win Olympics...failures teach more than the winners
🙏 Wishing a Happy Retirement from International Badminton duties for Japan to Kento Momoto! Thank You So Much for the many fond memories of International Badminton Tournaments you've given to your Worldwide fans! 🙏 Arigato Gozaimasu Kento Momoto San! 🌷🌿🍎🍊🌏✌🕊💜🇯🇵🇲🇾
Leave while you’re still good is a chad move
No. After the accident in 2020 he can't find his old self..
but now he is the bad now, coward move
@@mokchiming12 like you were nombor one in bwf
@@mokchiming12 who are you?
@@mokchiming12 Who you think you are? He came back twice and you have the audacity to call him a coward? Even if he was still good it would make sense to retire as he is getting old and around 30 is a normal time for athletes to retire.
If only the unfortunate accident didn't happen 😢
He won the Korea Master last year. I thought things were looking up then, but well. 😢
If you can't play in the court, hope you can sit beside the court and coach the young players on the bwf stage.
I dont watch Badminton anymore, but I remember his first match against Lin Dan at the All England. I knew he was unique, and its unfortunate what happened to him.
Its really strange theres no one exciting anymore.
I miss Cai/Fu, LYD/JJS and YYS, KKK/TBH, Daddies, Lin Dan, LCW.
That was the golden era of badminton.
Hi, what year was that? (LD vs KM)
Thanks

@@giantqtipz6577 thank you Sir! Regards
Those idols of that golden era had an extended career thanks to the 21 points system, no doubt they left a mark and paved the way for the new age of badminton.
After the sunset of an era it will take time. There will be others that will step up after the torch is handed over.
My favourite new age hero is in mixed doubles Yuta Watanbe and other players that are still active.
For now badminton is in abit of slump for many many reasons. Love for the sports is what motivates me to check in once in a while, I hope you will too.
😢
no country bans for gambling.. probably a warning.. but japan did.. he bounced like a pheonix once to be retired as fate..
Poor guy.
If the car accident didn't happen
Too early to retire.
It’s a good time, he set the bar high, so it’s sad to keep seeing him losing to second tier players. He knows this that’s why he retired, what’s the point of keeping losing to second rate players? He tried to get back his form but it’s four years now, it’s never coming back especially he is almost 30.
He has a high standard and even though he is trying to push on for these past few years from his surgery, he hasn't been able to come back the same. It is a very unfortunate event and also hurts your motivation a lot along with the fact that you don't earn any money from this that would make it worth it to be a full time career. He most likely has many things that he wants to do now after this and wants to pursue it. We wish him the best!
That chundik who got himself into a car crash in Jan 2020. How THE F*** you can knock onto the back of a lorry at 3am when the road is almost empty . DAMN it !!!
Sooo sadddd
damn malaysia driver
The driver died in the accident.
Not this again😢
Malaysia driving kampong style
a supernova that failed to shine at his max potential, hope all the best in his new undertaking.

Oklah. Tak ape . Jepun banyak permain muda yang berkualiti.
Still xde yg boleh sama dgn taraf momota time dia naik dlu
@@irfan_ishraf Kodai lagi bagus permain kita Lzj dan Nty. Mereka bagus kita masih ketandusan permain . Nty cedera. Saya lihat baik tahun depan kasi dia main. Betul betul sembuh baru main.
@@louong93 yeah kodai okay tpi momota lgi perform dri kodai sebelum dia eksiden
@@louong93 kiranya jepun rugi besarla momota nk retired sbb potential dia besar
Why he never thank Malaysia for sparing his life?
Noob comment
The only player that i loved after lcw, lin dan and chen long. One of my favorites 🥹 I'll miss his gameplay for sure
