I bought one three years ago and never regretted it. I have a Korg PA4X but wanted a lightweight keyboard to take along to a local jam session and couldn’t be more pleased. I found your critique very informative in proving the amazing value of the Medelli AKX10 to completely dismiss all negative comments. Well done.

Glad to hear you have finally found some good features of the AKX-10. So for someone creating styles & accompaniment it looks like a dream keyboard. Your video is great too showing exactly what can be achieved. But for someone like me who is only looking for quality sounds, like organs, accordion, synths, pads, strings, flute, pianos, how does it stack up compared to lets say Yamaha PSR-SX700. Thank you.
@@anneshnaidoo2218 it doesn’t. It’s horrible. The voicing is very poor compared to a Yamaha.
Hi Leigh, greetings from Braunschweig/Germany and thank you so much for these comprehensive reviews. About 1 year ago I had the AKX10 for a few days at home, and I was overwhelmed by its build quality and also the sheer number of features. Unfortunately, there were 3 solid reasons to return it in the end:
1. As you mentioned, most voices and styles are worse than necessary for absolutely no reason.
2. I'm used to 88 keys, and with only 61 keys I always missed some keys at the upper and/or lower end.
3. I love to connect my Mic to the keyboard, for gigging as well as for recording. Unfortunately, the microphone input of the AKX10 had the quality of a cheap karaoke machine for children's birthday parties.
Yamaha's PSR-SX700 could be the answer to all the above problems if it was available with more keys. Unfortunately, it isn't... 😪
So, while Genos & Co. would be far too expensive and too heavy for me to lug around , Yamaha's PSR-EW425 was the best compromise in terms of quality, price, weight and number of keys. However, voices, styles and accompaniment options at SX700 level would be nice... 🤷🏽♂
The truth is that is not that bad, well it takes some time and the "know how" apart from a good professional like you, but it does sound as good as it can be! Very good tutorial! Thank you!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Yes of course! It’s ok for the price or for a starter! It’s very Chinese! No way near the Yamaha or Ketron!

I was wondering a plausible, and interesting reason, to not hearing the metronome through the back audio outs. May this be a functionality to allow -only to a performer wearing an audio headset- hearing the tempo? Imagine a situation: you are playing a song that starts with a piano solo, and after several bars comes into the drum, bass, and so on.
Imho this should be a great way to play on tempo to engage perfectly from solo to the whole song. In other words, this particularity I find it useful in such situation.
By the way, I am the owner of a great Thomann AKX-1100
This is not a common circumstance.

Very interesting your videos. I have a question for you and I apologize if someone has already done it before me. I look for my first arranger keyboard and save something I wouldn't mind. I read that the Mendeli AK-X10 is superior to the Yamaha Psr sx600. A term of comparison can also be made with the Yamaha psr sx700? Are they close as sound quality? Thanks in advance for a reply 😊
Depends on the style of music you play. The Yamaha’s sound is for me the better instrument. Medeli is very thin and hollow sounding compared to Yamaha - so I’d say Yamaha every time.
Sir couldn't you just have the keyboard internal speaker playing the same time so you wouldn't have to unplug your external speakers? That's what I do. I love your videos
No that wouldn’t work. Odd that the metronome doesn’t feed out of the outputs on the back.

V/good video leigh. Great the way you explained it. Think this medeli if superb value for you money. As you say some of sounds are bit thin and wimpey. But overall excellent value for you money. I found a great price on line for £530

Hi Tom, I have no idea what is happening with Medelli. The instrument for me is not something I can play given the current voicing and styles, IF they bring out an update I doubt it will be that quick as it needs a complete re-write in my personal view. A friend purchased one and has since returned his.

I hear when bar goes to the end its showing some delays when going to start top bar!!
Is there a guitar engine/mod that will make it easier to play like the Korg pa series when creating styles with guitar sounds? Such as strummer, chord playing positions, 6 string independent playing. Because this mod greatly increases the realism in Korg arrangers. Because we can't play like guitarists.
