That Gavox Avidiver 2 is intriguing. Punches well above its weight in terms of functionality from a minimally designed complication and low cost movement.
Dear Dave,
I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for your recent review. It's always a pleasure to hear when someone appreciates my creations, and your positive feedback means a great deal to me.
As we step into the new year, I also want to wish you and the entire community a very Happy New Year 2024. Your support and engagement are what drive my passion and creativity, and I look forward to sharing more with you all in the coming year.
That Gavox is really cool looking. Heard great things about Maen too.
Hello Relative Time , looking and wearing cool '43mm'
I am surprised you don't hear more about the Gavox Longitude. Great watch with integrated bracelet, textured dial, and traveler GMT functionality using the Miyota 9075 movement. Looking forward to your review.
Glad you are safe and relieved to see this upload. Praying for everyone in Japan.
Cool to see a Torgoen get some love! You nailed it with your synopsis - very generously priced watch for its features and specs. Sapphire, swiss movement, GMT, 100m WR, great quality. I paid $153 shipped direct from Torgoen and have been wearing frequently in the cockpit for almost a year :)
Cool list, especially that Gavox!!! I have to add the Q Timex GMT (quartz option), the Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT in titanium (sports option), the Nodus Sector GMT (dress option), and the San Martin SN0112G (GADA/every day, especially if you get the one with the rotating timing bezel).
Thanks, AdAce21, happy you like my Gavox design, I am a one-person company
Great group of GMTs! I’ve been wanting to check out something from Torgoen for some time…clean designs. The Gavox looks incredible, and I know first hand they build great watches. Vario looks like a great casual/dress/art deco version…love it!
Hello My friend , , would you like to review it ? i'll be happy to put you in the list
Great list. The Gavox looks stunning. I would have included the Traska Venturer, a beautiful timepiece from a microbrand.
Hope you're doing well in Japan. Praying for everyone in your country
I preordered the Gavox Longitude before it was released. I’m a huge fan of this true GMT. Looking forward to your video of this watch.
thanks a lot Kotling99, always happy to hear this in comments , cheers , Mike
Hi Dave, thanks for featuring the Torgoen- it’s a brand I’ve been curious about for some time now. They looked solid, but were almost too good to be true for the price. I appreciate the “sanity check” on them. *lol*
I like the Gavox a lot!!! Thanks for the introduction to the brand!
Wow that Gavox really got my attention Definitely my favorite on your amazing list Thanks for sharing as always my friend Safe travels and Happy New Year 👍
Great segment. Something I haven't seen before. Happy New Year Dave.
Thanks for all you do. I hope you and your loved ones as well as your community are safe! God Bless!
Great video as always. The airman looks super cool.
Thanks for making to your Top 10 list !
awesome watch picks great job
That Gavox is really interesting, definitely peaks my curiosity. GMT is also my favourite complication for exactly the same reason - despite living across the pond I always set the second timezone to UK and it makes me feel that little bit more connected to home, let's hope the GMT releases keep on coming. Cheers for the nice video.
that glycine airman is on my watchlist now. thanks Dave!
I really love the Signum Full Lume GMT after seeing Shanes review. It is incredibly useful and comfortable and was my most worn watch of 2023. You can also use the GMT hand to time long road trips.
That was great!
Love that Maen; but that Glycene was insanely cool!
Oh man, what a great list of watches!
Came for the intro music but stayed for the review. 🫡
I really like the look of the various, nice choice
That Gavox Avidiver looks very impressive.
The Vario only needs a Cathedral Hour hand to make it an outstanding watch
I think the Traska Venturer belongs on this list.
That vario is gorgeous 😳
The Vario is cool but the Maen wins this show! Happy New Year!
Loved the Vario
nice list
Would love to see your overall top watches you reviewed this year
Important point about that Glycine - the handset is a 12 hour config, while only the GMT hand is 24 hour, despite the markings on the dial. Gets confusing, and is often disappointing for those who don't know the difference between Glycine's true 24 hour watches, and these 12 hours versions on 24 hour dials with GMT hands.
The purist version is my preferred Airman, but this one is pretty cool too. It has 12 hour markers in addition to the 24 hour arabics, still a little confusing sometimes with such a busy dial, but not too bad.
The Maen looks very well finished.
New Seiko 5 GMT field watch out on 12 January! We get the white dial model here in Japan, but already sold out on Amazon.
A bit surprised no Alpinist GMT - Shane loved that one - along with the Vario Empire GMT.
Love the Glycine Airman Base 22 but so hard to find and getting so expensive.
My favorite is my full lume dial Bulova Devil Diver GMT. Bulova finally made a watch I can't complain about. Hi-beat Miyota travelers GMT with sapphire crystal.
When you come to SG, could do a meeting of fellow watch nerds :)
No longer available, but the Zelos Mako 300M GMT 'Blue Meteorite' (you'll find it if you Google that information) is the GMT I bought in 2023. I got one of the Seiko 5 Sports GMTs that came out in 2022. Good watch, but not a true GMT. The Zelos is, with a Miyota 9075 movement. It's a very high quality watch for the price, a favorite.
That Vario looks really nice - great to see a usable GMT that doesn't look like a dive watch.
My favorite GMT this year is Traska Adventurer GMT.
I don't have any GMT watches in collection but I'd like to add one in future. Some complications are not useful for me, like date only or moon phase. Second time zone though is a really nice feature. Therefore, no complains from me that we have so many options for GMT watch. Sturmanskie Gagarin Day Night collection is really nice, around 600 USD. Limited but still available in some shops. Hopefully Boldr will make automatic GMT again, not only quartz , with their Globetrotter series. And for budget between 1k and 2k USD, I'd go for Mido Ocean Star GMT or Christopher Ward GMT.
Hi Dave ! I realy enjoy your 2023 list. There is just one point that bothers me, the fact that there is no date on the Vario, which is a major lack for a travel watch in my opinion.
Regards from France
Islander needs to be on any list of affordable GMTs
Hi Dave, when & where are ypu coming to the Philippines?
Wow 😮 your going to the Philippines 🇵🇭
Is there a meet & greet with u here? 😀
I wish! Unfortunately I'll be on a tight schedule, traveling with a Japanese Pastor to go visit a Pastor in the Philippines that our church supports.
Where'd you get that sweater?
I made it! justthewatch.com
@@JusttheWatchnice
Can they handle half hour time zones?
The things I would do for 7inch wrist
Gavox longitude so ❤❤❤❤
Vario is the winner ❤
New Citizen series 8 look awesome but not cheap.
I agree Dave a GMT & a date & I'm good.
Is your wife Japanese just wondering ?
Wheres the Mido Gmt decompression wordtimer?
Do you know of any mechanical GMT watches that work with Kathmandu/Nepal time? (GMT +5:45)
Well you could approximate it with the bezel by turning it slightly so the GMT hand would be correct, but the minute hand wouldn't line up. Your best bet would be a dual time watch that can set two times completely independently. There's some cheap ana-digi Casios that let you set the digital time separately from the analog time. And I think a few digital ones that have two independent digital times.
That's a great idea. I had never considered that. I use the Royale right now. Any specific model recommendations?
I got a Seiko SUN 057 years ago just because it is a GMT.
San Martin SN0116 World Timer Watch NH34 GMT for +/- $300
Pity you don’t state if they are a travel or a desk GMT
The Vario and the Longitude (black Gavox briefly shown) are travel/true GMTs, all the rest are caller gmts
@@JusttheWatch thanks 🙏
1:17 I am pretty sure you have Japanese / East Asian ancestors, correct?
Also, why did you leave USA?
You're right! My grandma was Japanese, so I'm 1/4. I moved to Japan as a missionary about 10 years ago. We've been working with a Japanese Baptist church here, currently helping them plant a new church in a small coastal town.
@@JusttheWatch great! Do you like it better there in Japan in some respects? I would imagine you would have plenty of opportunities to return back to the US!
Pewdiepie moved to Japan too! May be Mr. Beast next haha!
The Maen is mean
No Marloe, no SMITHS....
Your camera appears to focus on your huge mic rather than yourself, why not move the mic out of shot?
It's the wrong kind of mic for that. This one only picks up what's close to it, which is good for me because it can get a bit noisy in my house sometimes with the kids running around.
gmts are pointless unless you are absolutely atrocious at basic maths
