- Join me as I visit the Luxor Buffet located at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This buffet used the one of the cheapest ones in Las Vegas but it is now priced fairly high for the value. I tried to like it, it's hard! So I have have to be fair with my critique.

I think guests don’t really do buffets anymore. Now it’s all about the Food Halls.

Glad to see Vegas survived the "Taylor Swift Bowl". I appreciate your honest review of the Luxor buffet. It was overpriced and the food did not look at all appetizing. You were correct in your early observation that the lack of people was not a good sign.

Yeah even if you're staying at the Luxor, if you're going for a more value buffet but also reasonably close to the strip, I'd hit up the Palms
I had this buffet about 2 weeks ago and my review would be exactly the same as his for the price the food was awful. I would recommend going to the cosmopolitan to the wicked spoon and spend a little bit more money but get way better food.
I was there 5 weeks ago and the breakfast buffet was so bad, I asked for a refund after I saw the selections. I used to like the Luxor buffet. The MGM buffet across the street was much better, fresh food, good bacon , fresh pancakes.
Thankfully you asked and got your money back! I wouldn’t be happy with this buffet even if it was free! Horrible

I miss when the buffet used to have the all day dining option, and when it was paired with the Excalibur buffet too! Too bad covid really knocked buffets down the drain. Once it all came back to normal they were never the same. The desserts were my favorite here.
I am going out to Vegas in March. Staying at the luxor. I like the Hotel and casino but was never impressed with the food.
If you want relatively affordable food options, try the New York New York Hotel Casino across the street from Excalibur. The Village Street Eateries have a NY style deli, bakery, fish fry, pizza, coffee bar, fresh made crepes. Whatever you do, avoid the food court inside Luxor or Excalibur- it's a huge rip off, read the menu boards carefully, one of the places Johnny Rockets Burgers charges $25 for a combo- burger, fries, soda.
There's a pedestrian bridge that connects the two hotels. There's also a free tram that connects Luxor to Excalibur and Mandalay Bay.
That phrase you used ".... is for the birds" cracked me up and reminded me of my mom back in the day ! Thank you for your candid review and for $50 dollars, this buffet is somewhat shameful when for another $30 one could enjoy quality and much more eye appealing offerings elsewhere nearby. Hey man. New subscriber after seeing you pop up in a few other Vegas channels. Thanks for the review and that buffet did not look at all. And nothing is worse than heavily breaded orange chicken, especially if it’s been sitting out too long.

when this was new i really wanted to go and stay at this place. i never got to stay but visited once. i don't think i'll be eating at that buffet when i come back. seeing the "sushi" was what did it for me.

The one at wynn is good but you have to pay $50 plus tip
Palms AYCE buffet is the last relatively affordable buffet near the strip, Saturday
-Tuesday it's $36. The others left that are good: Wynn $50-80, Bellagio $50-65, Caesar's Bacchanal $80, Cosmopolitan $45- breakfast/lunch only.

That looks like what they would serve at a $7.99 buffet off the strip a few years back.
All the MGM buffets are horrible. I should know I tried them all, head over to the Palms, Wynn, or Caesars, and if you can't do that, try southpoint or main street station but Luxor is the worst of them all.
Surprised that there were no 600 lb twins in mobility scooters who were there for the chow.

I'm not a buffet person, but I did eat at The Luxor's buffet back in 2009! 😅 The last time I ate at any buffet in Vegas was way back in 2015 at the Wicked Spoon.

I ate at Luxor buffet years ago thinking it would be better than the Excalibur Buffet...it wasn't! Excalibur was actually decent, but Luxor was hot garbage! It's pretty hard to screw up orange chicken. I've made it at home. Mine wasn't perfect, but it wasn't chewy steel! The pizza section looked better than I remember it, more choices at least.
Pretty sleazy that they jack up the price for Super Bowl Week!
I don't mind the Doritos temporary advertising to cash in on the Super Bowl. If it was some long term thing I would clown them. I had a turtle as a kid too, named Dummy.🤣

Why MGM? It's almost a theme to take good ingredients and systematically cook improperly over and over again. MGM you need a reboot.
I'm going to be going to the Luxor and March staying for three nights and I will definitely stay away from the buffet that's too bad because I love to go to buffet 😞
I see they have all the so called common food for fillers that they want you to get filled up on so you dont attact the more expensive foods.
I rather go to a local Mex fast food place and just get a Machaca burrito then go to 7-11 and Dr up my coffee for $3 and I am a happy camper.. dont need to spend $40 on hotdogs, pizza and overcooked eggs etc.
The salad section is actually quite fresh and diverse. They have a house mix, or build your own. This buffet as a whole is odd. We've eaten there many times. Some of the Latin section is quite good. Last time I was there they had Asian fried rice there for the Spanish rice. I don't like the Asian section either. That pizza can be decent. I think it's a highlight of the buffet.

When I moved to Vegas 9 years ago I stayed at the Luxor and even back then the buffet was over priced, and not good. desserts and drinks were highlight of the meal.
It's a basic buffet. I would just walk to Excalibur and I stay at Luxor often if i wanted a buffet meal
The Excalibur buffet has the same menu as Luxor and MGM Grand, but has better management so food is fresher, properly labeled and in some cases better prepared, but it's not worth $34 either.
Surprisingly the Excalibur buffet is quite good. With the BOGO coupon option it’s a no brainer.
MGM has let this hotel deteriorate, why would you expect the buffet to be any different.
It's an okay buffet. It's definitely budget friendly compared to the other well known buffets on the strip.

Scary as it seems, for breakfast I'll go cheaper and have possibly a better breakfast experience next-door at Excalibur.

At actual dinner time, there are more people there. Did you go there like 11 a.m. on a Tuesday? Dude, stick to the carving station. They bring out huge roast beefs, the ham is good. They had a section with hot peppers and appetizers. The salad bar has two sides and is better than you describe, everything is fresh. If you like your eggs with cheese- why didn't you get a fresh omelet with cheese? It would have been fresher than the eggs sitting in the pan any day! It seems like you skipped some of these staples and went right for some of the lackluster stuff- except the bacon! Gluten free secret- ask at the dessert bar and they take out two or three great GF options for you!
The food looks something I give to my dog. It looks bad.
