Comparing a live performance to a studio record is unfair and ridiculous. Regine did a great job singing this song she totally sang it with a Regine touch and not blatantly copying every Mariah's style.

Pitch perfect though deviating from the original piece. Regine has a laser beam-type of high range notes. Her high vocals are clean and secured. If her vocal cords were musical instruments, they're comparable to violins. God gave Mariah a throat that can produce delicately airy whistle registers and that is something exceptional even if many people can whistle. But God gave Regine the voice of a songbird. They cannot brag though because they just received beautiful gifts which they did not earn by doing something. God gave them these for free to occur in them so naturally in order to make us happily inspired listeners of their songs.

So it is normal for us to sing songs of western singers because that's what the people want to hear from them. Regine is one of the few vocalists who can give justice to MC's songs LIVE though not in this specific performance. It's obvious that she wasn't able to practice well. We should still give it to her for trying since Mariah never sang this song live in any occassion or if ever she did, it was lipped like she always does.

Regine is one of the worlds best vocalists. in the league of Whitney, Mariah and Celine. but these tv performances in the Phillipines, want their 'divas' to sing western divas songs, they love this music, they want to hear renditions of american songs. but Regine doesn't need to try to sing like Mariah or anyone else(she CAN sing songs like this, this was just rushed) she has her own talent and is an incredible technical singer, and can add emotions in her singing too. she has way better live performances and her studio discography has a lot of impressive and versatile vocals.

The reason why our singers do a looot of covers is because we are influenced by the western culture, the way you dress, your language, your movies and tv shows and your songs. So it is normal for us to sing songs of western singers because that's what the people want to hear from them. Regine is one of the few vocalists who can give justice to MC's songs LIVE though not in this specific performance. It's obvious that she wasn't able to practice well. We should still give it to her for trying since Mariah never sang this song live in any occassion or if ever she did, it was lipped like she always does.

If Mariah did a LIVE (not Lipped nor Dubbed) version of this, I'm sure it would be MUCH MORE MESSY than this. She even messed up with her song HERO which is very much technically simpler than this. Regine is one of the worlds best vocalists. in the league of Whitney, Mariah and Celine. but these tv performances in the Phillipines, want their 'divas' to sing western divas songs, they love this music, they want to hear renditions of american songs. but Regine doesn't need to try to sing like Mariah or anyone else(she CAN sing songs like this, this was just rushed) she has her own talent and is an incredible technical singer, and can add emotions in her singing too. she has way better live performances and her studio discography has a lot of impressive and versatile vocals.
