As i have done a french seam bag before i would state using this method is only really easy with THIN materials, if you plan on stabilizing a bag or using more dense materials this method will become super difficult.
I'm afraid not, however you can use ratios to scale up the bag. For example, the finished LxW of this bag is 33 x 25.5 cm. If you want the length to be 38cm, you can use ratios to find the new width. Then use this new measurements as the starting point. There will be a lot of math ! I did something like that in the Origami Paper Cup bag video where I scale up a paper cup into a full size tote bag.
I'm definitely not an expert seamstress, but I followed this tutorial and it turned out great. I found the instructions straightforward, especially if you use the written version from her website, too. She does a great job explaining everything. Just go slow!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have made this backpack and am super happy with it! Will probably sew another one for my husband.

Hey! Thank you for your lovely tutorial :) I was just wondering about backpack dimensions (I would like to know if it's big enough for my computer)?
Hello there ! The finished size is about 33 cm x 25.5 cm x 9 cm. Hope it's big enough for your computer :)
@@SaltyDIY Thank you for your quick response! I think it's a bit small, but I'll just buy your pdf tutorial to help me calculate the measurements :)
Thank you so much !! 🙏 If you run into any questions just ask, will be happy to help :)
Es un proyecto muy bonito. Gracias.
This is so pretty and Im inspired to make it. Is it possible to enlarge it by simply adding for instance 5 cm in all directions?
