The resourcefulness of this guy is amazing. Remember that most build channels on TH-cam get sponsorship and just replace parts. That is fine but not realistic for us mere peasants that have to invent and re-use to make a few bucks of our projects.

I like your quality level of work, not cutting corners when your near the end of a project.

YES!! One of my favorite series to watch on TH-cam. That skid plate was mighty impressive sir. Can't wait to see her run!

How cool is that bike now. You brought it back to life and made all the repairs look "factory"... Actually better than factory! It is very inspiring, thanks for sharing the adventures.

still weird to me how a watercooled 70cc athena cilinder is 80 bucks.. and this 500 when its basically the same thing.. but a little bit bigger... i wouldve gone to a real branded cilinder combo though.

Love your channel guys! I diy dirt bikes myself and it’s entirely addictive!!!! The reason the rear tail signals were as such, is... if in a hill climb or wheelie and the the bike loops from under you, the signals wouldn’t get caught on your legs and tear your pants or possibly worse! I agree the signals should’ve been to the side and faced backwards however they needed a flexible mount made of a rubber to bend out of the way of passing butt cheeks! Please consider making an adjustment to the brackets to make them flexible.

CONGRATULATIONS, well done. And you built the Husky the correct way. Which means that this is the way I have, as well as would have done the "restore" myself. Nothing half-assed, start with a complete dismantle... You're da man.

Probably a dumb question, but I don't know much, and you learn by asking.... When you install a 'big bore' kit, wouldn't you need to make some changes to the carb jets at the same time, or is the do they sort of self-adjust for the bigger displacement? Also, sort of related - now that you're generating more HP, how do you know if the clutch and chain have the tolerance to handle it?

The piston/bore damage was most likely caused by a localised seizure of the piston in the bore probably due to overheating, (loss of coolant?)
in addition the piston would have distorted as a result of the overheating causing it to become excessively loose in the bore causing the noise.
I think it very unlikely that the damage was caused by debris in the oil.
