Over the past couple days, I started using just conditioner instead of my usual shampoo-conditioner that I was using daily, and I've been noticing a difference in my hair already.
Yeah I usually condition a couple times a week and usually shampoo 3 times. Some days I’ll wet it but won’t even wash it, just to get rid of bed hair. I use high quality products though.
I just wanted to say that for the first time ever I now know how to properly wash my hair from just watching this incredible video. The difference is so big and I'm happy that I will now know how to deep clean my scalp once a week without any stress or issues overthinking. Thank you a million times friend 💛
I shower three days per week. So I shampoo each time. I gym Mon, Wed, Fri, so I shower Sun, Tue, and Thu, that way I'm nice and clean while at the gym. If I know im going out on the weekend, I'll shower the day before. Three showers per week keeps me smelling good and looking good.
Took me a year but finally get my hair up to 12 inches! Now I'm starting to realize that it takes a lot of maintenance though, but I'm glad these videos exist.
long hair dude here !! nice video !! show us also how to dry our hair using only the towel , because we are to lazy to use the hair dryer pistol . thanks
Haven’t tried it but I can already tell this is gonna be helpful. I feel like this is a subject where I can’t trust women because they seem to overdo it with products and stuff. So, thank you!
highly anticipating the shampoo + conditioner video. im myself 2 years and about 4 months into growing my hair and used to simply use a vegan soap before switching to a proper shampoo. the soap was very mild but sadly always left my hair greasy. cheers
Soap dries the hair and skin out , shampoo + ideally condition after to get the best results , comes down to each individually though , i find conditioner makes my hair too silky soft , so i just shampoo , but soap on hair is never a good idea ,
Hey guys!!! Thanks!!! You really helped a long haired guy for at least 10 years!! ( me jajaj!!! ). It is a very good video for my washing routine!! I did it wrong for many years... and it is helpful. Thanks as allways guys!!!
I noticed a big difference in my hair quality from this so I wanted to know if other people did it this way, like it's super smooth and easy to style after showering like this
Thankyou I am a female with very long hair...and the technique is RIGHT. Work the scalp and the ends will take care of themselves. PS to avoid any scalp infections..(.which I have exp.) wash your hands FIRST.....then you can go after that scalp and you will give it a massage as well which will give you even longer hair......................:) For the record: mine is 25.5 inches. For combing......................Start at the ends of the hair and work your way up rather than top down. This ensures no pressure is put on the roots, minimizing damage. Make sure you only ever use a wide-tooth comb when the hair is wet. Brushing when damp can cause a lot of damage as it stretches the strands rather than separates them.
Just discovered your channel / brand. Pretty stoked about it; lots of good info. I'm new to long hair and also in the process of searching for a new job - any plans for a video or video series about formal long hairstyles for men specific to the job interview / business professional world? Keep up the good work.
Um, thank you for showing my son. He grew up without a father figure around and this was nice to show him, I mean he hears from me, his mom but he had to see it done by a man
for people out there who say they only wash their hair 1-2 a week, does that mean you're only taking showers 1-2 a week? if you do take showers more frequently are you getting your hair wet on the days that you dont want to use shampoo?
One thing: it's a good idea to not scrub your entire head of hair. Just do the scalp and maybe a slight rub on the ends. Scrubbing all of it will cause it to be dry
When im washing with only conditioner, is it right for me to massage my scalp like in the video? I feel like if I dont massage my scalp, then I get dandruff from product buildup. And obviously im using the conditioner on my ends, I just massage to get rid of any remaining conditioner that found its way onto my scalp. Thanks.
+lumpiia still massage your scalp with water, yes. You typically don't want to get the conditioner all the way to the scalp. Unless your hair is just ragged and dusty.
m1909 Some days you can skip the shampoo and just rinse with water, sweat goes away with water, but the oil builds up more slowly, and at a constant pace.
You guys have any tips for a keeping your hair from getting dry from working in concrete? The end of the day my hair is whispy n krinkled looking because i keep tied up but the dust still gets in it. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
That's a tough one cause your constantly dealing with the elements and pretty much forced to wash it often cause of all the dust. How often are you using shampoo? How often you using conditioner?
@@TheLonghairs i shampoo about 4 times a week n condition with coconut based conditioner every night. N then i either use argon or raw coconut oils . But the hair that comes out from above my ears n the longest lengths have a krinkled look n don't seem to want to absorb any moisture. It's like a whisp broom . 🤯
So wondering I work in a metal shop so lots of grinding dust and such so wondering if washing more than three days a week would be bad since want to get all shop stuff out of hair
Some shampoo bottles say to shampoo twice. I find that this works fine though you definitely want use a decent amount of conditioner after. I also use anti-dandruff but it says to use daily. I like using it but is my hair gonna like it in the long run?
Loads if not most shampoos tend to say for daily use but unless you suffer with a really itchy scalp or very oily skin , it really isnt needed , 1 - 2 times a week for a good shampoo + conditioner is just fine ,(obviously if its really hot and you sweat alot then do more) you can always still wash your hair with water on other days , as the dude said its all about keeping the scalp fresh and healthy , the natural oils do the rest.
I wash my hair every 3 to 6 days depending on their look. 3 times a week is too much for me. I comb them to spread the natural oil and even add some extra argan oil on the end every day. My hair are normal thick wavy European hair. I do not use chemicals product.
Comes down to personal preference , some people get more oily than others , i shampoo mine and condition once a week , like you its good to let the natural oils do the job they need too and i've had super thick healthy hair for the last 20 years
Haha, typical straight hair technique. That is SO MUCH SHAMPOO! But to be fair, I follow a water only washing routine. I haven't used actual shampoo on a regular basis for...3 years? So I don't even remember what a proper amount of shampoo is anymore!
How do you keep the grease away? My hair is thick and dry, shampoo days are the bane of my life as it makes the hair more dry and poof outwards, and i could so do without it!
It takes some time to transition, but it definitely works. Your oil production goes down, and becomes evenly distributed throughout the hair after a few months. In your case, your hair will dry out first before your sebum production GOES UP! I slowly used less shampoo, and stretched wash days out. Put it up a lot, just kept it hidden. W/E After 3 months, I was shampooing once a week. Then I switched to the most common NO POO method, baking soda/ACV (which requires precise measuring to ensure it protects rather than damages your acid mantle). After my oil production fully stabilized (this method cleanses little to no oil, but still cleans the hair and scalp), I switched to a water only routine, and have been very happy with it ever since! People are accustomed to thinking of their natural sebum as "dirty" and "disgusting" when it's not. As long as I clarify with distilled water regularly to prevent mineral build up from my tap water, my sebum acts as conditioner, not grease. Without the excess minerals, it's thin and smooth rather than thick and waxy. And because I don't put nearly as many man-made chemicals on my hair anymore (if any), it stays hydrated and dries much faster after I get it wet. You should try it, my long & wavy hair was SO MUCH EASIER to manage when I finished transitioning successfully.
I run a similar technique especially being a thick wavy/curly hair type. Although I wash with shampoo/conditioner once a week, all other days are just water. Seems to be working just fine. Coming up on 2 years this August/Sept
I would categorize shampoo & conditioner once a week as the cut off point for a normal shampooing routine. For people with straight hair, that's a little radical. But for pretty much everyone else, it's relatively normal. Anything less than that I would call the beginning stages of Low Poo. You don't really get to that point by accident unless you have very curly hair.
This seems like the right video to ask.. How much hair loss is normal during a shower? I guess a little bit might just be normal, but I lose what feels like hundreds and hundreds of hairs (realisticly it is still a whole bunch, my drain gets blocked every 2-3 days because of that). And as soon as I decided to grow my hair out, I was very careful in handling it. Maybe I'm just overthinking it. :D Still would like to know if others have this problem and how much would be "normal" or if I need to worry about this.
It's normal to lose hair everyday. I lose a lot in the shower as well, not a shocking amount but probably a little more than most. I don't brush all the time so most of my fallout happens in the shower. Some other factors you may want to think about is the temp of the water. Are you taking really hot showers? That will make your hair come out easier because your pores and follicles open up. Try taking a cold shower and see if you know notice a difference.
Did you highlight your hair? And I notice when I tie my hair up, and whenever I slouch, my hair hits the back of my neck, and it's annoying, like if you lean your head back you feel the hair and the flyaways, is that just me?
The Longhairs yep just ordered. Didn’t notice them my first browse. Thanks a lot men, keep up the good work! I also have a business, and I’m interested in collaborating if you guys are down. What’s the best way to shoot you over some details ?
1-you have to wash your hair part by part .. or at least use the shampoo in more than 1 spot. 2-you just used oily shampoo for your oily hair. 3-as you said, you hadn't had a shower for 3 [fucking] days .. least thing you could do is using the shampoo twice.
I can't understand how people like you [+80% of society] can even accept their own thoughts .. although they share them your wife ain't a male [I hope] so you can't just share her/his idiocy with some people which aren't even close to.
Over the past couple days, I started using just conditioner instead of my usual shampoo-conditioner that I was using daily, and I've been noticing a difference in my hair already.

Not even a minute into the video and I already know what I’ve been doing wrong... thanks alot Longhairs!
Awesome man! You bet!

Good schedule for you. I don't work up a sweat. Shampoo once a month. Get compliments.
That doesn't mean I wait a month to shower. 4 to 6 weeks on the shampoo though.
Now that i have shoulder length and sebboroic dermatitis I understand the point is washing the scalp the hair isn’t the thing you’re right i agree ☝️
I don’t even have long hair probably like 4-5 inches long but you made this look interesting
Took me a year but finally get my hair up to 12 inches! Now I'm starting to realize that it takes a lot of maintenance though, but I'm glad these videos exist.
Hello, Brother I used your technique, my hair now feels Awesome, + I did not needed to shampoo twice. Thanks for your help...😊😊😊

This made my scalp itchy... Gotta go shampoo.
Hey guys!!! Thanks!!! You really helped a long haired guy for at least 10 years!! ( me jajaj!!! ).
It is a very good video for my washing routine!! I did it wrong for many years... and it is helpful.

I watched this video in order to see if I have been doing it right since I've changed methods and yeah this was it
I noticed a big difference in my hair quality from this so I wanted to know if other people did it this way, like it's super smooth and easy to style after showering like this
I swear I could smell shampoo when watching you wash your hair.
And what a great smell it is.
Damn. it's late in the evening now and I'm watching this. And now I couldn't wait to take a bath tomorrow morning.

Great video! I think ive been doing the technique correctly, at least for the last couple of years.
+David pow!
"Grab your poo of choice" ahahahaha, I’m dead
😛
Man the video is so great filming it in black and white is literally a crime , Makes me really mad. But loving this beautiful hair .
Oh, dude. I could probably not scrub like that. When my center part gets messed up even the slightest bit I bug the hell out, lol.
What’s UP brothers!!! Thanks for the vid. Always appreciate the info 👊👊
You make everything more easier! Thanks a lot.
(Sorry if my English is wrong, i'm still learning).

great video, thanks man.
Yea buddy!
I learned that long ago when I started growing my hair out some 30+ years ago
thats why he said for people just now growing out their hair LMFAO
I have viking/Balkan hair. You should see it's gravity/frizz magic tricks.
I use shampoo and conditioner with 2 day spaces, and no matter what I do my hair is always oily.
Your hair should also be brushed before you shampoo. To reduce tangles
thanks

so is it normal for me to have 4-5 hairballs everytime I shower? so much dead hair builds up and falls out.
I'm kinda sweaty during summer, is there something wrong if I wash my hair like every second day?
Nah but just pay attention to the dryness, if its starting to look dry and dehydrated then you're pooing to much
m1909 Some days you can skip the shampoo and just rinse with water, sweat goes away with water, but the oil builds up more slowly, and at a constant pace.
I shampoo twice in a week.
Thanks to the tips because I have long hair and I'm a boy

How much shampoo do you need ?

so helpful. its like having a new baby.
I'm surprised that you were able to keep your hair out of your face the whole time you were scrubbing
Did you highlight your hair? And I notice when I tie my hair up, and whenever I slouch, my hair hits the back of my neck, and it's annoying, like if you lean your head back you feel the hair and the flyaways, is that just me?
No highlights. Stop slouching boy!
The Longhairs or when you sleep the hair hits your neck?
Jack Russo just pull it over in the back or tie it loosely and do not ever sleep on your hair, it will dry it up and makes it tangle+split ends.
Can you tell us how to wear eyeliner properly? Just kidding i also have a long curly hair 😀
Dr bronners gang
whats the name of that reggae music?
Jesus Christ I gotta move where ever the fuck you are right now. In NY the sky is fuckin grey 90% of the time

Is it bad, if i use shampoo every day? :o
+pascale triesch not so good. Recommended 1-3 times a week.
pascale triesch it's ok if you have really oily hair, just make sure you use conditioner every other wash
What if you don't like taking showers?:/
+gibysgb then......
gibysgb choose to like showers
Hi, are you noticing a lot of hair ending up in your hands when you shampoo? Shedding etc...
Sometimes and that's all good. Shedding happens everyday, nothing to freakout about.
Boys, when you gonna come out with some bandana, head cover things like you’re wearing in the beginning of the vid?
We have. They are on the site

Just keepin it real man
Easy answer... don’t!
*Poo* in hands...
1-you have to wash your hair part by part .. or at least use the shampoo in more than 1 spot.
2-you just used oily shampoo for your oily hair.
3-as you said, you hadn't had a shower for 3 [fucking] days .. least thing you could do is using the shampoo twice.
POO IN HAND
I can't understand how people like you [+80% of society] can even accept their own thoughts .. although they share them
your wife ain't a male [I hope] so you can't just share her/his idiocy with some people which aren't even close to.
We got a know it all in the house! Make a better video then dummy 😂
Grab your poo of choice
Man , shave your back,
