The Cure Guitar Tones with the Roland MicroCube GX

Settings are on the screen. Used the JC Clean for the clean stuff, Brit Combo for the dirty. Slick SL57 on middle pickup for A Forest, bridge for everything else. Straight from amp rec out into GarageBand, which I used to add some reverb since the amp can’t do delay and reverb at once. I had been trying to get Robert’s tone with modelling and little did I know the closest thing was sitting in my closet. Makes sense since he uses 4 cubes live and the effects in the amp probably are modelled after the Boss pedals he uses. Enjoy!

I love these tones. It's like the tones of The Pretenders or The Police with extra meat on the plate. I love that Rush adopted these types of tones on their 80s records.

I ran the record out from the amp into the input of my iRig 2, which went into GarageBand on my iPad.
