Anne has the capacity of elevating the exposure and branding of Miss Universe since her strength is media but since it's her first time owning a pageant not just any pageant but THE Miss Universe Pageant, we could see her being overwhelmed of the fact she owned the Most Popular Pageant. As you said, we have to wait and see how things will change and I think she's nurturing and listening to the audience and pageant fans which is a nice and humbling thing.

Anne has been disrespectful to the former Indonesian license holder. She said that she dropped the license of YPI in Miss Universe because YPI didn't conduct a single title holder as Miss Universe Indonesia. YPI had licenses for Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Supranational. That's why YPI didn't win the bid, she said. But Miss France and South Africa also conduct the same thing but still have the license. Actually, the new National Director is her close friend, and simply she wanted she collaborated with her friend. As it is. But the way she canceled the license to YPI was disrespectful. She didn't send a proper email and notification to YPI. 30 years of loyalty of YPI to the Miss Universe brand has been replied to by such a disrespectful act.

Anne made MU a business venture which should not have been the case. MU was for women empowerment, a brand that has lasted decades and what Sovereign has mentioned should’ve been what she is pushing for Rbonney to do. MU is a spokesperson, role model, an inspiring woman which we have yet to see since it’s all about generating profits for her at this time.

Extremely well spoken. I can tell you did your excellent research. I agree Ann needs to take a step back and let the queens be the queens. I hope she takes feedback well. I guess time will tell on the feedback aspect. Yes, there needs to be a well oiled team dedicated to the support of Miss Universe now and into the future. Miss Universe has the ability to tackle the major topics of the day. Women's rights, poverty, children's advocacy, world hunger, word peace, sustainability etc. Ann does have to walk a fine line. Let's not forget Miss Universe is a business and a business must make money. This could be one reason for the upheaval in the new requirements to become a national franchise. I "hope" that can be solved as we need more countries to enter the Miss Universe pageant not leave. I would like to see the court of Miss Universe go to nations and plant the seeds of joining the Miss Universe pageant system. There are over 240 countries in the known Universe so let's have a representative from each country. If that can be done think of the power Miss Universe would possess. Love you so much and enjoy your knowledge.
Aside from Anne, I'd also love to see more future contestants ulitize their voice and advocacy by sending letters to their governments and politicians about what change can be done in their country. It would make a huge difference if MUO and different governments from around the world can work together on this to further their advocacy as a brand.
Sending letters? That isn’t going to do anything with politicians who don’t have time to read letters. Grassroots movements and followings create change and garner attention from politicians not letters…
@@Zyxwvutsrq Well they don't have to just send letters to their people in power. I just used that as a prime example of what used to be done back in the day. Of course now things have changed and evolved. There are newer ways this can be done too.

I think during this time of transition she needs to make appearances and make her presence known. Just as any new manager coming into a new store or company they need to observe and immerse in the work environment and maybe even pick up on areas she can better utilize to give MU more exposure. I think it’s needed temporarily until she has a more established team. But other than that I’m pretty much in agreement with you.

lol that was a nice way of saying anne is not miss universe, she's the owner. i actually like anne now as a person but i do think the MU org is a bit cheaper from an image/marketing perspective since she stepped in.What we also need to realize is MU is not a non-profit. I get the idea of putting women together to talk about issues, but at the end of the day Anne is a business woman and she is more focused on selling the brand (and likely MU merchandises) agressively in the next 5 years

I think Anne bought Miss Universe solely for Business and Entertainment only. I don't see it as a platform where women or a Miss Universe herself can speak for her causes or charities. Why did I say so, first was the bidding process of the national directors from each countries, that's business. Second, the Miss Universe herself along with the runners up went on a tour from country to country for media presentation. That's entertainment. I don't get to see Miss Universe and her runners up talked about charities or causes that they did during the tour. She doesn't need to be with the Queens all the time nor she have to make funny moments to entertain people because the Miss Universe competition itself suffice. We are entertained with the intelligent, perseverance, beauty and physic of the amazing candidates from all over the world, the universe rather.

The upset franchise owners were from countries where there’s clearly not enough interest and competition to have more than one potential franchisee. They had a monopoly and that showed in the quality of the candidates.
Be careful and mindful to step into the wrong field or cross the line: Miss Universe is not a political tool, should stay away from politics.

I don’t think Anne has overcome her trauma as she usually says in her speeches because I commented in one IG post that she did before RBonney was in The Philippines. She was asking her followers: we are days aways for the Philippines, Are you ready to see us there? And as a former follower and now part of her blocked list (LOL) I replied saying: send your queen, you can stay where you are. Guess what happened? She blocked me. When you block someone who is not doing a hateful or offensive comment because you are reading criticism for a behavior, that frankly, fans are TIRED of it, you have a lot of work to do on the personal level . With this said, you have to be careful because although you are not offending her at all in your video, you are just giving your opinion, she can block you as well. As a fan of Miss Universe for years, I am really concerned having her as an owner. Maybe I am wrong but when you are a leader you need to be more tough and accept positive comments and criticism. Great discussion points but I think many contestants and even fans themselves are only really interested in the shallow aspects of the pageant - swimsuits, gowns and who has a pretty face .. not sure many people are actually interested in the advocacy aspect of the pageant hence there’s a gap in approach
It's not even about advocacy it's about visibility and respect. The more visible miss universe is/famous the more respected she is and then the more valuable she is. Even from a simple financial point of view its silly to not try to get this woman to movie premieres, next to impactful people, the white house. Miss Universe should be cultivating attention by any means nessasary, the best way to do that is by using her voice. Speak on anything otherwise who cares about someone they can't hear.
