    I don't understand what it means when I click on the "i" next to the credits needed on the vehicle page. It says "unlimited year/model universal credits" and has a number next to it, typically a 6 or a 12. What is this trying to tell me?

    • @HPTuners
      @HPTuners  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey there! Unlimited year/model credits is a one-time license that allows users to tune as many of those specific vehicles as they want. For example, if you tune a lot of 2011-2016 Silverado 6.6 Duramax (Diesel) (LML) trucks, you can purchase an unlimited license for (6) credits and tune as many of those trucks as you want, indefinitely. You can tune 1, 5, 10, or 1000 if you want for only a one-time license of (6) credits. I
      f you're an individual trying to tune your 2016 Silverado 6.6L, you can just purchase a single vehicle license for (2) credits and tune that one truck as many times as you want.
      Hope this helps!

  • @tallyforeman3145
    @tallyforeman3145 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Just to clarify...... I have an '04 Yukon 5.3L I'm wanting to do an E-fan swap. My understanding is that would take 2 credits.
    If I want to add a cam afterwards on this same vehicle, will that be an additional 2 credits for the tune? And likewise after that a turbo, 2 more credits?
    Or, does the initial credits/licensing cover any modifications and tuning I want to make to the ECU on this same vehicle? I'm under the impression I'm going with the MPVIP2+ and Suite software. Thanks.

    • @ThisManTriggeredMe
      @ThisManTriggeredMe 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The credits are for the vehicle. Unless you change the vehicles ECM or PCM you only purchase credits once and you can tune and make changes as much as you'd like. If for instance your computer goes bad and you change it, then you would have to buy new credits because of the software is going to see the ECM serial number is different.

    I have HP Tuners on 2004 Dodge Cummins. LoveD it! ... Until I had a problem with it randomly rolling in max timing intended for high boost at low/no boost and low rpm, making the truck inoperable... And then HP wouldn't help me figure out how their program was corrupting my ecm. I found the only correlation was that Scanner was recording 1.63 in Transient/Steady state, and my problems were happening 5-15 minutes after operation began, not the second or two during the transition from 'transient' to 'steady' state... And my problems would be constant at high elevation, until I returned the truck back to stock. No help from HP. My truck is okay around town, but I cannot go out of town with it, because the ecm will corrupt and shut me down.
    So much potential, and on my truck, as well as a friend's '05 Dodge Cummins, it renders the truck useless.

      @@HSKFabrications udc doesn't work... something with conflict with Chrysler's updates and reading fuel return. It went into limp mode every time I drove after about 50k miles. It would never recover drivability.
      I have figured out HP, though... It is changing tables without prompting. If I keep the tables all the same, and just rely on barometer adjustments, I don't have any issues anymore. It's just frustrating that HP doesn't care enough about their product to fix it, and they have the mentality of superiority that an end user can't have an understanding greater than theirs about their own product, therefore the end user cannot be correct... they blamed me for all the problems, without ever showing how it 'really works'... now that I have bandaged the problem, I have full function, and no longer have the issue of rarely hitting steady state tables that many have noticed.

    Maybe I am thinking outside the box but you pay thousands of dollars for your vehicles, then pay for equipment and software downloads. Then you realize that every single vehicle you own will cost you 100-400 dollars to get the license to tune your own vehicles. I called and priced having my vehicles dyno tuned and its around the same price. Seems like the price outweighs the benefits. how are the shops making money on tunes. what kind of discounts are they getting. seems like they would sell more product if they were reasonable. Licenses do not have overhead costs to or shipping since it is NOT a physical product. I guess that is why so many people just order tunes and only have to transfer them.

At that rate I'd just take it to a shop and let them do it for 1/3rd the price. It's not worth it😂😂😂 or really more like 1/10th the price if you consider the $300+ interface and a laptop.
