I am a huge fan of Pokemon and when I first heated of digimon I thought it was just a cheap Pokemon attempt. but when I was watching the show on the internet I was blown away by it!!! I was surprised with the good story, really intense fights, and WARGREYMON!!!!! its a shame the Pokemon anime isn't as good. Digimon is underrated.

Yu Gi Oh is alright, Digimon has something that Pokémon anime can’t make something good episode like this I mean sometimes they do, but they don’t it all just repeating something that I am not interested unless something epic. Except Pokémon game was fine Generation 1-5.
I was never much of a sports fan so when my family went a ballgame, I stayed with my aunt for the night. We went to a local grocery store and rented a video, because that used to be a thing you could do. The video I happen to pick at the picture of a brown haired boy and some orange dinosaur on the front of the case. I loved it so much. I was so happy when I later found it on tv and had been a fan since.

Pokemon's anime has also dumbed itself down to an extent over the years to appeal to both a younger and more general audience. @@SYLOVideoOfficial the japanese version is quiet. in the english dub the characters never stop talking, they're always cracking dumb jokes or there are goofy ah sound effects because TV producers thought children couldn't pay attention if something wasn't constantly happening. I tried rewatching the english version because that's what I grew up with but the constant noise was headache inducing so I switched to the japanese version. they only speak when they have something worth saying, and if there's no need for sound effects then there aren't any.
I've always been a fan of Patamon. He may not be the strongest Rookie, but Angemon is epic and I would love for him to be my Digi Partner. Also I don't blame ya for your tastes. One reason: WAR GREYMON!

I got so pissed when he died from age, though. No other Digimon now is as strong or as powerful as him. The closest I've got right now is a Giromon. He's alright, but his finishing move is so useless. He makes a bomb and throws it randomly, it only damages if the enemy Digimon goes near it. WHICH THEY NEVER EVER DO! XD At least he got good moves, so...yeah. XD
I liked both Pokemon and Digimon as a kid. They're similar but Digimon is not at all a clone of Pokemon. I think a lot of that belief stems from the names of the shows. In English it seems like Digimon blatantly ripped off Pokemon. However if we look at the Japanese names, it makes a little more sense. Pokemon is simply short for Poketto Monsutaa (Pocket Monsters) and Digimon is short for Dejitaru Monsutaa (Digital Monsters). Otherwise you have a show title that is 9 syllables/characters long which is impractical! Words have specific abbreviations that are always used (for instance Starbucks, Sutaabakkusu becomes sutaaba), so it's not all that surprising that the names sound similar.
My sister told me that the creators of Pokémon also created Digimon to watch people fight over witch anime is better. (( I don't know if it's true though ))

I liked this anime, it was actually good sci-fi most of the time, a little similiar to Pokemon but the digital world made it unique and fascinating. I watched this and Pucca on Toon Disney before they changed and ruined that channel. I loved this theme song too, it's catchy.

Pokemon fans may still call Digimon a rip-off, simply because it has some similar core concepts, like being about strange monsters teaming up with humans, but that doesn't make it a rip-off, just because it came after another franchise got popular with those features.
However, one thing you CANNOT dispute is that the Digimon franchise grew up with its original audience. While it is still quite welcoming to new fans, the themes and characters actually matured and developed, with the universe growing beyond just a light-hearted romp around their respective worlds. Even from the first season of its anime, Digimon was raising the stakes of their conflicts, and the enemies they faced were both more threatening and more complex to overcome, whereas Pokemon's main-series anime has almost always been very similar, with Ash just strolling around the latest region and trying to do the same thing each season as he gives it up by the end every time. Pokemon's anime has also dumbed itself down to an extent over the years to appeal to both a younger and more general audience.
Pokemon doesn't care about the loyalty of their fans beyond remaking their old content, while Digimon cares to keep their demographic interested by attempting to innovate with different styles of anime and video games.

the Japanese version's voices are much less annoying, unfortunately we had to lose this gem in order to get that, it's a lose/lose situation.
The Japanese opening was still pretty banging though.
You say that as if it is fact lol. Really it’s opinion based. Some of us find the Japanese voices annoying, not everyone feels the same way on this subject.

Says only people like you bet you're not American speaks Japanese. 🙄 well here in America most speak English things were made so everyone can enjoy. Not everyone is the same but I bet if you grew up in America and this English version was all you knew you'd say the English version was better. As a person from America who knows only English the English version is better the Japanese one sucks.
@@SYLOVideoOfficial the japanese version is quiet. in the english dub the characters never stop talking, they're always cracking dumb jokes or there are goofy ah sound effects because TV producers thought children couldn't pay attention if something wasn't constantly happening. I tried rewatching the english version because that's what I grew up with but the constant noise was headache inducing so I switched to the japanese version. they only speak when they have something worth saying, and if there's no need for sound effects then there aren't any.
I'm more of a Pokémon guy, but this slaps harder than my brother teaching me courage with blunt force trauma.

It all started with Digimon with me. I love Pokemon too but Digimon was most of my childhood.
I watched this long before I ever watched Pokemon. In my 20s and still a fan of both.
While I grew up with Pokemon, I'm also a Digimon fan. My favorite will always be Greymon, and I don't care how over-rated he and Agumon are!
I've always been a fan of Patamon. He may not be the strongest Rookie, but Angemon is epic and I would love for him to be my Digi Partner. Also I don't blame ya for your tastes. One reason: WAR GREYMON!

I got so pissed when he died from age, though. No other Digimon now is as strong or as powerful as him. The closest I've got right now is a Giromon. He's alright, but his finishing move is so useless. He makes a bomb and throws it randomly, it only damages if the enemy Digimon goes near it. WHICH THEY NEVER EVER DO! XD At least he got good moves, so...yeah. XD

I liked both Pokemon and Digimon as a kid. They're similar but Digimon is not at all a clone of Pokemon. I think a lot of that belief stems from the names of the shows. In English it seems like Digimon blatantly ripped off Pokemon. However if we look at the Japanese names, it makes a little more sense. Pokemon is simply short for Poketto Monsutaa (Pocket Monsters) and Digimon is short for Dejitaru Monsutaa (Digital Monsters). Otherwise you have a show title that is 9 syllables/characters long which is impractical! Words have specific abbreviations that are always used (for instance Starbucks, Sutaabakkusu becomes sutaaba), so it's not all that surprising that the names sound similar.
My sister told me that the creators of Pokémon also created Digimon to watch people fight over witch anime is better. (( I don't know if it's true though ))
COMPLETELY not true,digimon is a show based on another show of the same creators (dont remember the name) and digimon was made about a month after pokemon and people only assume digimon is a ripoff becuse of the simmalar name and evelution and fighting

I heard that rumor too when it was first released darkkitten103 but no Pokemon was done by 4Kids and The Pokemon Network where as Digimon was released by Bandai. They came out roughly the same time and they just happened to target the same audience. The other show that cgsgrill might be trying to remember was Monster Rancher but Digimon was actually based around Tamagotchis so it wasn't a ripoff. I liked this anime, it was actually good sci-fi most of the time, a little similiar to Pokemon but the digital world made it unique and fascinating. I watched this and Pucca on Toon Disney before they changed and ruined that channel. I loved this theme song too, it's catchy.
