Beautiful gardens Danielle thank you for showing us and sharing 🥰 I have the bleeding heart you mentioned and here in the UK it’s called (Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart') 🪴🌺🪴
Thanks for the tour! If you are interested in traveling to beautiful gardens out of state, here in NC the Biltmore House and gardens are absolutely stunning.
@@kathleenblundetto1624 April through May are great times to visit the Biltmore gardens for spring blooms. Beautiful blooms of various kinds bloom all summer and into the fall. I like to go on a weekday, because the weekends there are very busy.
Thank you so very much for taking me to Hershey Gardens. I have always wanted to tour the Garden but am to old now and live to far away, so it was a special joyful treat. It is beautiful and inspirational. You bring happiness to so many gardeners thank you again😊.
My daughter is an exec at Hershey and spent a number of years at corporate. It is a very special and beautiful place and we have many fond memories of our visits there! Thanks so much for taking us with you.
I always enjoy these visits and despite the pandemic and maybe not being able to plant sufficient bedding plants or tulips, the structure of the garden is still there with those magnificent mature trees. I just loved the trunks of the Japanese maples.
This is a really beautiful garden. I think it may be more peaceful without the distraction of all the flowers. I loved the weeping cherry and the magnolias!
Thanks for the tour! I never been to Hershey during the Spring I normally go mid summer. I am thinking maybe my daughter and I need to pop down there maybe this coming week. She loves gardens just as much as her mama.
Oh its beautiful still! We took our babes there over 25 years ago! The bleeding heart is a Dicentra Gold Heart. Thanks for sharing. Your videos are so informational and relaxing!
I understand how all the public gardens are suffering from this past year. However, when I was viewing these magnificent setting thru your camera I kept thinking, even in an off year, to be surrounded by such examples of Nature's beauty, what a treat indeed!
Thank you for the tour, very enjoyable. I've never been to that garden but have been to Longwood, similar but much bigger. It was kind of sad not seeing anyone else there.
Thank you for the tour. I visited Hershey many years ago but missed the gardens.. loved seeing the Japanese garden with the blooming Cherry Trees. Can't wait to go with you on your garden tours.
Thank you, it’s sad to see such a beautiful place be struggling so. I’m afraid between COVID and younger generations having other priorities these wonderful places maybe a thing of the past. I like your idea of getting out to see more gardens I’ll be watching for those you find and I’ll make it a point to do the same. Thank you for a beautiful video.
I think it’s going to be awhile until we fully recover from COVID and things get back to normal. We might also have to be willing to except a new normal? As Americans we basically had every convenience at our finger tips, not so much anymore. We could go and do basically anything we wanted to. Maybe it’s time we understand how other people are not as lucky as we are.Don’t get me wrong, I loved having everything I needed or wanted available to me, but maybe it’s time to step back and take life a little slower?💚🙃 I’m going to have to check out the status of tulip time in Holland Michigan this year, maybe they weren’t able to get tulips either this year. I do know every year the city digs them up and piles them in an area that people can come and get what they want, but you also don’t know what you’ll be getting. I’m going to have to check that out sometime I think 🤔💚🙃 Beautiful gardens, thank you for taking us along💚🙃
Wow! I've heard about that tulip show up in Michigan, but I had no idea they had such a free-for-all afterward!! That sounds like A LOT of fun!! But then, I really like good surprises that way!! 🌷🌷🌷
And you've said it well concerning how lucky we all here in the U.S. Things may be different now, but you've made a good point about how to keep looking for the good things that we still have. ❤
@@gardengatesopen I’m not sure where they dump them all but if I talk to some old timers I’m sure I could probably find where they dump them. It looks like the festival is a go for this year I’m not sure about the parades though, probably won’t have them, but they have millions of tulips planted, if your interested go on their website and you may be able to find the tulip tracker💚🙃
@@judymckerrow6720 ahhhh, that's extremely nice of you to offer! However, I'm in Texas, and have no plans to be in Michigan, maybe ever? (unfortunately...) But if I do ever go, it would definitely be during that festival!!!
Thank you for the tour. It’s actually helpful to see the “bones” of such a space. I enjoy your content very much. Btw, just today picked up a viburnum nanum farreiia at the local big box. In bloom.
Thanks for this early spring tour. I love this time of gardens. I think it is Dawn Redwoods. I was hoping for lots of redbuds, but the weeping blossoms were awesome!
I can't wait for for more PA tours. I did a Best Kept Secret Garden RoadScholar tour by Philly. Chanticleer is now my fav garden in US.( from a person that has toured botanical gardens in 35 states.)
Bluestone Perennials has a lime green/gold dicentra called Gold Heart with deep pink blooms. I found another with white blooms and lime green foliage called Alba Alba...
I'm not sure how you've missed even hearing about The Wind In The Willows!! Nonetheless, this is a perfect book for a teenager, as well as for yourself. If for no other reason than to simply have it as a reference when it's mentioned in everyday culture. Hope you like it ❤
This Dicentra is probably "gold heart", but im hunting for "white gold", with white flowers. I love plants with yellow leaves. Anyway, very beautiful garden, i thing tulips make it bit unnatural, i like just clumps of narcissus and hellebore under beautiful old trees.
I love these garden walks. It would be cool if you could go back when everything has flushed and do some side by sides of this video and flushed. Does the town smell of chocolate? I bet it’s a lovely town to explore.
I was at Hershey gardens about ten years ago on a hot summer day but found them very attractive. Should you have a chance to get to western NY check out Sonnenburg gardens in Canandaigua. Beautiful gardens and estate.
Yes, I was wondering that too! It looked like a weeping version of something, maybe a Weeping Magnolia? Just guessing, I really don't know... It was just GORGEOUS!!!
I'm wondering what kind of tree that was toward the beginning. It was massive and dripping in flowers that reminded me of wisteria, but it was a tree. You can really see the magnificent structure of the gardens this time of year. Would love to visit in person someday. Thank you!
All those gorgeous tress are worth the trip, no to mention what else is blooming. I seen on an episode of Martha Stewart MANY yrs ago that peonies are early mid and late blooming, maybe those are early. Mine are about 8" tall now, I'm on Maryland's eastern shore. Thanks for bringing us along.
